thought it looked a bit weak to start but im enjoying it after a few episodes. have tried cornwells writing in the past and really wasn't a fan, plays well enough on the screen though. am actually really interested to see how the story pans out for all the characters. brida has made me laugh a few times, funny girl.

pretty mediocre stuff in my opinion. it feels like it went to screen at the idea stage, before the story and characters were fleshed out. ive noticed some praise for the main actor, i have to diagree in my opinion his atempts at any emotions are a little embarassing. moyer is a bit of a relief when he's on screen. this show really doesn't take me there, ive cringed through 7 episodes, i see no improvement.

Interesting to note that a huge proportion of viewer ratings are either a 10 or a 0. I'll just say im glad I got thru the first 2 episodes, because after that I found this show to be very compelling viewing, it's something to just sit back and experience. reminds a little of the movie 'Magnolia' I wouldn't be shocked to see it raining frogs. After 6 eps I give it an 8, that would have been a 5 after episode 2, it may well be a 9 by the end of the season. My only real complaint is the language thing, I really think they should have used subtitles, it does take a bit away from the global, cross culture themes. That is why I cant give this a 10. Otherwise really enjoying this show

I'm not usually inclined to write a review based on a single episode, but this show is something pretty special. Watching this, I had to keep asking myself are they taking the piss? Most bad shows have at least one redeeming quality, I just can't see it here. This is an absolute train wreck.. visually atrocious. Acting embarrassing, writing childish. Before watching it I read an interview with the creator, in which he sited pan's labarynth and pulp fiction as sources of influence. Ok.. its 2015. I have to wonder how something this cringe worthy can actually make it to the screen. It feels like syfy rang this guy and said we want you to create the worst freakin show possible, just so we can see if people will **** it up. I've never given anything a 0 in review. I have decided to award this a 2, purely because it takes some talent to be this bad.

I feel like they're getting really adept at getting through a 40min episode without anything really happening at all, each series gets a little more dull than the previous one. To be fair its probably pretty hard to come up with fresh subject matter, but It feels to me at this stage like we're trying to **** every bit of life out of this show. It needs a dramatic final ending before it's **** dry. Is this to be the last season? I feel it really should be

i guess it would help to be right into the gangsters theme, im finding it very slow and full of forgetable characters. after 2 seasons im not invested in anyone, apart from the handful of main characters i have trouble remembering who everyone is, the ones i do know are pretty dull.. like i said not really a gangster fan, a couple of years ago watched underbelly razor set in sydney in the same time period as BE, i thought it was excellent, figured this would blow that out of the water, was very disappointed. really didn't engage me , gave it 2 seasons, cant do anymore

i really wanted to like this show, but it seems a real chore to get through. filled with unnecessary scenes that i quickly forget about. some great acting and attractive sets tied together by, well nothing really. another reviewer said the show gets bogged down by it's own greatness, i believe that to be a very apt observation.

was loving the first few episodes, but then it seemed to get progressivly worse. by the end of the season i felt it had really lost its way. i may watch the first episode of the next season to decide whether to continue and only because im a scifi junkie

this show lost me after a few episodes, too teen orientated i decided. pretty weak story and characters. then whilst bored i gave it another shot. i found it progressively improves throughout th series. i put this in the watchably trashy scifi basket. nothig about it is great, but there's enough to keep low expectations satisfied. lot's of people dying is aplus

it seems a lot of people are punishing this show for what we experienced with lost. it s early days, and though i'll admit it could slide down the wrong side of the hill. it has me intrigued thus far. a real feeling of melancholy amongst its characters held up with some solid acting. gotta say though i don't like seeing dogs die even in fiction. nor do i enjoy any sort of religion, so it could loose me along the way. i would like to point out thar criticism of lost was loud and clear, if lindelof can take aspects that were done well in lost(there were plenty) and at the same time take on board the criticism, i believe he could be a master storyteller. at this stage i remain optimistic and based on only 2 episode i h ave to rate favourably .

thoroughly enjoyed season 1 (origions in the us). from season 2 (season 1 in us) it kinda cheapened a fair bit , i blame the hobbit movies for that but im still watching. also why cant we just let australians have australian accents or just use an american actor. its the same if we need an aussie character we usually get an american actor trying to sound like crocodile dundee. always annoys me

Loving the show! was concerned about a few things, the critic reviews (they are wrong). I was concerned it would be swashbucklingly silly like the pirates movies, its not. I was concerned the blood and nudity would be oversold like in Spartacus, its not. The show feels rooted in a sense of 1700's reality, the smuggling, trading scene is well represented. the scenery and ships are gorgeous. I feel the show fills the sort of hole left open after hbo's deadwood finished. I realise its not going to be for everyone. its not overly titular, and feels like its going to maintain its own identity at the expense of some audiences. please don't cancel this show!
