I think we’re still one year away from the greatness that 2K is truly capable of. In the meantime, WWE 2K16 will do a pretty good job of being the No. 1 contender.

This is a game that delivers all the personality and fame-centered features of the wrestling world in detail; however in the process it compromises, rather ironically, a more realistic feeling of combat as in the actual sport. WWE 2K16 is a game that is better to watch than play, although it will probably satisfy hardcore fans.

Yuke’s made some improvements taking the series in the right direction, but do not expect any revolutionary changes, because the most important aspect – the combat system – was only slightly modified. [13/2015, p.38]

Good and big roster, good showcase, good match types, but I wish they added more. Gameplay is actually pretty good.

On PS3 version I have it has every match type from 14 and it is fun with Showcase of Stone cold despite lacking a story mode that could make it more replay-able. This was my first 2K game before the rest I took it for granted at first but after a while I realized out of the first 4 this was the best pre 19.

Buena experiencia next gen de la clásica saga de wrestling, que ya iba pidiendo un cambio revolucionario en muchos aspectos...

The game's only real misstep is the wildly inconsistent graphical presentation, but the gameplay and amount of features and things to do more than makes up for some occasionally shoddy visuals.

WWE 2K16 is the team back on their way to greatness, and a definite turning point in how wrestling games should be made.

The strides made in-ring make this an essential play, but [the] missed [outside ring] opportunities sting harder than a Big Show turnbuckle chop. [January 2015, p74]

A bigger roster, more finely-tuned gameplay mechanics and a more versatile creation system help make WWE 2K16 the current-gen superstar that it wants to be, even if some inconsistent ideas and bugs do hold it back from time to time.

An improvement over last year's WWE 2K15, 2K16 still isn't perfect but it introduces a brilliant roster, an immersive Showcase mode, and plenty of match types to get hot and sweaty with.

Due to last years’ visual overhaul, these wrestlers continue to look better than ever. Unfortunately, WWE’s gameplay hasn’t made the same strides as its graphics. Reliving Steve Austin’s career will likely appeal to a lot of wrestling fans, but it’s more fun to watch than to play.

WWE 2K16 improves on the many things wrong with last year's game, but not nearly enough.

This is a great improvement over 2k16! A lot more immersive. MyCareer is still iffy not the best. The roster makes the game a blast to play. Underrated!

The last good WWE game in my opinion, with the best character customization, a very large character roster and fresh gameplay mechanics.

A ton of fun spent in this game, remembered forever, reflexes, creativity and pathos

played this game for a few hours (ps4) found the game play very clunky and the submission system very awful, graphics are pretty bad for a new generation game, universe mode is also the worst i've seen in any game so far. only good thing about this game is the big roster otherwise it's just as bad as wwe2k15

When WWE 2K14 came out I was completely stoked. Something new and different from the THQ garbage that we were used to. Sadly it appears that 2K thinks that it's more important to take things out of the game e.g being able to edit match rules like 2K14; create a finisher. Now on 2K16 the only editing I can do for a match is if I want to be able to turn the entrances on or off. Gee, thanks. Another thing is that the games are less fun. Remember when you could have a stable entrance where the three of you came crashing down on a shopping trolley? How funny was that?! Or where you could go round the backstage such as the boiler room/parking lot. Why wouldn't this be ever considered? It's fun! There's only so many times that I can watch Tyler Breeze kick out of my finisher time and time again. Of course people like the "realistic" gameplay but do the majority of people that might play this game? I have a number of friends who scoffed when they saw me on this and said "it's not being good since enter old WWE game here. Surely being able to lure all audiences is more important than just the die-hard fans that buy the game year in year out. It seems to me like 2K are more bothered about having something to advertise like the Stone Cold showcase mode rather than the actual game-play. Showcase mode is very boring and very linear in my opinion. It tells you what to do and if you don't do it you get bent over. Hopefully at least someone manages to read this even though it is a bit long winded. But I could've written a lot more! tl;dr 2K is taking fun things out rather than adding them in and creating a boring game.
SummaryOffering more than 120 unique playable characters, including cover Superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin alongside Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Paige and Finn Bálor, WWE 2K16 includes the largest roster in WWE games history. The roster contains a combination of current WWE Superstars and Divas, emerging NXT tal... Read More
