This game WAY exceeded my expectations. I'm a huge fan of the From Software style of games including Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Now, I wouldn't want the entire franchise to become a copy of this style of game but I think Square Enix did a really nice job adapting that formula to the Final Fantasy story. I really enjoyed the gameplay nuances and the challenge and pace of the combat. That's the most important thing in a game like this, and it TOTALLY delivered. Really nice graphics, too, on PS5. I didn't love the character dialogue all the time but the story overall was well drawn up. Way better than I was expecting it to be and I'm glad I didn't avoid it because of some bad commentary surrounding it.

It's kinda weird, the critics' take on this. It's like they're so desperate to compare this to something that they're ignoring evaluating it on its own merits. It's quite mind-boggling, actually. You can't compare this to other games because there really hasn't been a VR FPS quite like Farpoint before. And then, some people are like "well, take away the VR and it's just a standard old-school FPS". Well, hello, you can't take away the VR, it's a VR game. The immersion factor is part of what makes the game what it is. It really does feel amazingly immersive. The action is very engaging. It's an easy 8.5/9. Not perfect, but the Aim controller really does set a new bar for this type of game in VR. It will be hard to go back to any other type of control method. This is seriously next-level stuff. Highly recommended.

Wow. When will they add some more of the highly positive critic reviews that are out there? Honestly, this game is a blast. Probably my favorite VR experience yet and one of the first fully-fledged games for PS VR out there. I highly recommend it unless you absolutely hate strategy games. My only knock at it is that it can actually get really hard and also there's not really an endless mode once you've beaten the game.

Destiny: The Taken King

Really, don't listen to all the people bashing Bungie as greedy for how they're handling The Taken King. It's not called greed, it's called a BUSINESS MODEL. Destiny is not the type of game where you pay one price and can play forever, and it never pretended to be. It's an evolving game and as it evolves, Bungie must put its priority on new players and dedicated players who are going to have faith in them and put down the cash. It's a fantastic expansion and between the framework changes, the new approach to storylines and quests, and the huge increase in things to do, it's well worth the $40 if you ever enjoyed Destiny at all or are coming in brand new. And many people saying there's not enough content to justify the price are also hiding some sort of a hidden "bash Destiny at all costs" agenda. Something that the positive critic reviews (which at this point remains to be *all of them*) are all agreeing on is that there is a wealth of stuff to do in TTK. Most of the negative reviews really just seem like people whining because they want something for nothing or people who haven't even played it at all yet.
