Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit9
Sep 10, 2020
This is a fun arcade racing game. For the hardcore NFS fans, this game does break that NFS feel that was there in the past entries. This game is nothing like Need for Speed 3 or Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2. The car lineup in this game is nice. A mix of Japanese tuners to the heavy hypercars, including the McLaren F1. The game is visually stunning, especially given the year that this game was made and published. This is a game made for fun at high speeds. Playing both as racer and cop was fun and the modes with the weapons were awesome. The solo career is a little short but it is still fun to go back to perfect the times with. Fun racing game.

EA Sports doesn't even care about this game. It's literally a copy and paste from previous years with some added rookies from this draft. The celebrations for winning the Superbowl are uninspired and the same for FOUR YEARS. In fact, it keeps on getting worse than the year before. How is a game made in 2020 worse than a game made 15 years ago. This is a real shame. EA should feel ashamed of deceiving their customer base and their shareholders with this poor excuse of a product. NFL should feel ashamed to renew the contract with EA Sports for simulation football for another 5 years. There is no simulation, everything is scripted. The Yard as been added as a another way to **** their players' wallets dry even further. MUT in itself is a disgrace to gaming alike and now they added cosmetic micro transactions to a football game, a sports game. Franchise mode is still worse than ever with more and more features being removed. Later on in this game's cycle, they will add back some of the removed features from the game and call it "new". They don't even care about this game or their consumers. They are literally giving away free copies of the game when hashtags like #NFLdropEA are trending on Twitter. Honestly feel bad for the PR team as they have to someone defend this trash. Don't buy this game. Don't support EA when they clearly don't care about you at all.

The graphics of this game is mind-boggling. The driving physics for the simcade racer is very well done. It's fun just messing about in the English country side (although the map is a bit boring even with Edinburgh in the game). The car lineup is staggering. All sorts of brands and cars from different eras. Even have Lego (DLC) and Hotwheels cars in the game. The seasonal events are fun but can sometimes be monotonous. Seasons in general are a neat novelty at first but gets tiring after a while, especially winter. The biggest downfall of this game is the progression system. Every time you level up, you earn a wheelspin. But the rewards in the wheelspins are garbage. The addition of unnecessary cosmetics like clothing, car horns, emotes feels out of place for a racing game. It just felt that it was added on since that was the trend in 2018. I feel that the wheelspins should have just been credits and cars. The progression system with the specific events are similar in this manner. It's based on a tier system. But the rewards sometimes feel out of place. After you get to a certain tier level in street racing for instance, you can unlock a Nissan Skyline R34. But then afterwards, you can unlock a emote. It doesn't make any sense. The Horizon stories are a fun addition to the game. The community for this game is fantastic. They are a creative bunch. The battle royale mode added in the game is actually surprisingly fun. They added houses to the game but owning a castle doesn't really feel different than owning a shack in the forest. There's no interior differences and no place for you to walk around with your character and see the car. In fact, you character serves virtually no purpose in the game except as a poor excuse to add clothing and emotes in the game. Overall, it's a fun racing game for you to play when you just want to kick back and relax.

This game is an improvement from the Don Bradman series. I love the direction that Big Ant is taking this game. Batting and Bowling are fun. Some improvements in fielding needed like dives. The career mode is far better than the career mode from Don Bradman 17. The custom creations are a treat. You could spend a good chunk of time just creating players, teams, stadiums, bats. The community behind this game is also fantastic.

Celebrations after winning the Superbowl are virtually the same for four years now. It's actually a downgrade since they removed confetti that was in Madden 17. Game's buggy, glitchy, and scripted. If you want a true football experience, play NFL 2K5 or even Madden 05. The Yard was only added as a means for you to pay for clothing with real money... in a football game. Franchise mode should have been a major focus but it remains the same from Madden 13. This game is a literal insult to the NFL and it's fans. It's $60 for a roster update. Don't support this crap and let EA get away with anti-consumer practices.
