While this game deviates from the format, the story of revenge shown isn't something original but it's done well and presented nicely. Everytime you kill someone and work your way up the list, the kill is awesome. It gets tedious after a while, but the gameplay makes up for the game loop.

It's so stupid, it's fun. This game comes off as a parody with a soothing voice for a narrator for the single player story that is deeper than it needed to be, but in a good way. It's mainly a meme game though

Best Star Wars campaign in a while!! The souls-like elements are really cool and they are toned down, in comparison to dark souls, which is good. It brings more casual players into the fold. The story is excellent and I loved all the new characters. I can't wait for a follow up or more singleplayer Star Wars games.

It's definetely an upgrade from the first one in all fields with one exception. Whereas in the first one you'd have some freedom of choice to move around this one is a bit more linear but this time at least there are no bugs and there's a detection meter so it's possible to determine whether you were seen or not

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin8
Dec 26, 2024
With Hidetaka not returning to direct the sequel I can see how some could be turned off by this game but don't give up. It's very unappealing in its first hours but if you are able to get through it you will definetely have a good time. Unfortunately it has a lot of dumb enemy placements, sometimes choking you at a point where you have to fight 6 or 7 of them at a time. Get ready to play without the lock on

Far Cry 49
Dec 26, 2024
I personally like this game more than the 3 one. Maybe its story isn't as interesting as the previous entry in the series but it's still a very strong compact narrative. The gameplay on the other hand is where this game really shines from its predecessor. It takes everything from 3 and improves upon it. I also have a soft spot for anything close to the Himalayas.

Far Cry 58
Dec 26, 2024
The 5th entry on the franchise is not one I really love but I can see its merits. I felt the non-linear story could have been handled better and the design of the world could have been more refined but I could see some bright spots in its storywriting with strong messages and philosophies being conveyed. The gunplay is satisfying and the world is big but feels more empty somehow. The DLC's also aren't anything to write home about, just pretty meh...

Far Cry New Dawn6
Dec 26, 2024
If you are a fan of the franchise and really liked the 5th entry then I think you should play this entry. It provides a good epilogue for some characters from the 5th game and the gameplay has some light rpg elements that can turn some people off but honestly I think they're done well.

This game is scarier than you might think. With its 2.5 D environments it takes you on a very nice short trip through a cold and unforgiving world. Dishonored 29
Dec 26, 2024
The sequel to the much beloved Dishonored, brings back everything people liked about the first one but bigger and better. The story follows a similar path but the gameplay is much more refined, with more open levels and more approaches to every goal, this game is very replayable. Especially with the dual protagonists, making you go back and play it through again but with different powers.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider8
Dec 26, 2024
This DLC stand-alone game for Dishonored 2 ties up some loose ends very nicely. It works as a really good epilogue for the whole series, bringing back some familiar faces. The gameplay has less of a focus on Chaos and more of a "Hey,play how you want" mentality. The Bank Heist is an amazing level...

Dec 26, 2024

Spec Ops: The Line8
Dec 26, 2024
With its pretty basic cover shooter mechanics this game would probably not have been as well received if it weren't for its amazing narrative. Something about the vast desert in the background brings feelings of awe

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy8
Dec 26, 2024
Oooof where to begin here? I don't want to say a lot about this game and its narrative specifically so I'll keep it as short as possible. The story in this game is flarking amazing!! If you seen the movies you're definitely going to love this game. If you haven't, the story is good enough to provide an introduction to the lore and make you fall in love with the wacky world of the Guardians. Now on the gameplay side, it's pretty simple and easy to follow. but after 16 hours it started feeling same-y, but the interactions with the other guardians mid fight kept it fresh. Also the huddle-up mechanic was amazing! Lastly, every song that was selected for this soundtrack is awesome!

Dark Souls III9
Dec 26, 2024
The end of a series. I can say it's a very fitting end to one of the most memorable series in gaming. It puts things confidently into rest with both its DLC's and tying everything back to the other 2 games. Although it's a bit more linear than the other 2, it helps balance out the difficulty of its areas and also its bosses. This leads to some of the best boss fights in the series by far. I have to say that it's also the most beginner friendly with fast and responsive combat and clear and concise menus. Praise the Sun!!

Elden Ring10
Dec 26, 2024
TLDR: Yes the game is amazing, with epic fights, a larger scale to its story and with really tough endgame bosses! This game is everything fans loved about the series but brought to the open world. The combat feels as good as ever, with quick responses to your inputs and nice flow and feeling of weight overall. With a variety of classes to choose from, and playstyles that suit every player this game can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. From summons to spirit NPC ashes, you can choose whether to fight solo or with an ally. There is one bossfight where I definitely recommend using summons and that's the Godskin Duo. Now on the story side of ****'S MINDBLOWNLINGLY EPIC! Overall it makes you feel like you're rising up to the top becoming stronger and stronger, culminating in an epic final **** the negatives now...Some classes and builds are way better than others, making fights hilariously easy but again that's up to the player. I didn't involve myself in the PVP so no comments on that. A lot of assets are re-used but I kind of expected that in a game as massive as this. Lastly, a lot of the bosses in the late game are really hard, not allowing the player with a window of opportunity for a counter attack and with endgame damage stats, the fights become really hard and are a matter of patience. But overall I don't have anything major to say in regard to the bad aspects of the ****: The music in certain bossfights just gives me chills(Mohg, Lord of Blood cough cough)

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga8
Dec 26, 2024
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the culmination of all years of experience from TT Games, all of them distilled into a single unified experience aimed to please all Star Wars fans. Does it succeed? YES! The combat feels new and fresh and while not as deep as Ninjago, feels fitting. The levels are fun although some of them are a bit too short for my liking. All of the movies receive some love and allowing the player to start with any trilogy they like is a good choice. However, the worlds and hub areas can get quite repetitive after a while, but that's only if you're going to go for the completion of 100% the game.

Marvel's Avengers4
Dec 26, 2024
After a whole week of playing this game I can safely say that it's not worth the 100%. Just play the story and the DLC story stuff. Everything else is very shallow and repetitive. The story itself is pretty okay, I guess. The gameplay and mission structure don't really highlight any hero in particular, but you could tell the team loves Iron Man cause he's the character getting to do the coolest stuff!

Probably the best Yakuza I've played so far! It has the best story for sure and the gameplay feels smooth. With plenty of side content and plenty of fun secrets to uncover this game is a blast! I also appreciate the inclusion of certain cheat items for minigames, like Mahjong etc. It made 100% this much easier!

This game is as good as the Arkham series gets in terms of a whole **** story is really griping, the combat from Asylum has been upgraded by 200% and there are more sidequests and more...riddler trophies. If it's the first time you're playing for this game go through the whole thing as Batman(story, new game plus and the challenges as batman alongside the dlc) otherwise only play it if you're a completionist...

Batman: Arkham Origins8
Jul 14, 2022
With the limited time the team at WB Montreal and the severe limitations they had while making the game, it's amazing the game we got came out this good. It's not the best in the series, it's more like an Arkham City 2.0 in regards to the gameplay. The story here is really the main attraction and it's really cool to see the origins of the arkham universe. The map feels emptier this time around and lacks a sense of style, since everything is covered in snow. And the side-quests are a bit weaker this time around and some of them feel "samey". It's a good game but better not pay full price, since there are still some bugs in the PC release.

Batman: Arkham Knight9
Jul 14, 2022
The finale of the Batman Arkhamverse story. Where do I start? The graphics still hold up insanely well after all these years. The way the rain interacts with your cape still amazes me. The story is really good and you can see Batman being brought to his limits once more, but this time he feels more human since he's surrounded by the bat-family. Unfortunately that reveal didn't come off as good as the devs expected it to be, but it wasn't that big of a turn off for my taste. Finally the gameplay here is as good as it gets I think and it really shows off how brutal and talented Batman is when it comes to combat. The Batmobile is really cool and the tank mode is decent. It get's really monotonous after a while, even with the harder tank variations. Finally the amazing cast of the game delivered amazing performances, from Gordon to Scarecrow and of course Conroy's Batman. Play it. It's worth the time invested.

BioShock 28
Jul 14, 2022
With Ken Levine busy working on a new setting and a new story for the Bioshock series, another team from 2K was hired to handle the property. They came up with Bioshock 2, a direct sequel to the original. Rapture is still the protagonist but this time it's an older more destroyed Rapture. After the first game's ending, Eleanor Lamb took over from Andrew Ryan and she's this time "crazy" main antagonist. This time you play as a Big Daddy and although you wield heavier weapons, the gameplay hasn't changed that much. It's good but it doesn't add that many new things to make it distinct from the original Bioshock.

Play this game it's a must! While it's not as genre-changing as the original Bioshock, this game still delivers a unique narrative on a unique setting that I'm happy it's part of the franchise.
