DOOM: The Dark Ages - Revelations10
Jul 18, 2026
Honestly, for years I thought DOOM Eternal would be the peak of the series.Especially after playing The Dark Ages. I thought it was great, but it was missing the high level of skill that DOOM has, and the real value of every tool and your ability to combine them together to truly master the **** with the Revelations expansion, I realized that they actually managed to surpass themselves. Especially after getting the shield and the flail at the same **** ability to move around with the chain, parry, and flail, when you use them perfectly together, creates incredible movement and feels extremely satisfying.Focusing on two guns also lets you smoothly switch between two weapons that fit the fight and the enemies, along with the flail and shield. (When you assign the fourth and fifth buttons to them.) It becomes incredibly easy and **** game also improved exploration, and the idea of obstacles that you have to overcome using the flail and shield is really great and well done. The game also offers a good cinematic experience, with a story that actually moves the events forward.I think the only things this game is missing to completely surpass Eternal are faster weapon switching, more value for each weapon during combat, and better enemy design and **** this expansion is still amazing and beautiful, and honestly, anyone who keeps downplaying it probably just doesn’t know how to play it properly.Thank you, id, for this masterpiece. ️

A good game with a lot of untapped **** world is beautifully crafted and a joy to explore—visually stimulating and rich with detail. Combat is another highlight: it's fun, diverse, and engaging thanks to the variety of spells and weapons that keep it feeling fresh. However, the experience is hampered by several major flaws. The enemies are a significant weak point—often brainless, overwhelming in number, and more frustrating than challenging. This undermines the combat’s strategic depth and **** biggest letdown, though, is the story. The narrative, characters, and dialogue all fall flat. They're dull, poorly written, and fail to spark any emotional investment. The dialogue in particular is overly long and tries too hard to over-explain everything, often in a way that feels forced and **** the game had delivered its story more effectively, refined the combat encounters, and balanced enemy design more thoughtfully, it could easily have been a 10/10 **** as it stands, the weak storytelling and frustrating enemy design drag it down significantly.

Without QTE it really deserves a 10/10 but with it an 8/10 to spoil the fun of the fight
