A fantastic voyage.. that ending though to me felt like a blank page and did not leave me fulfilled.

This is the exact arcade port, but there are two things I wish I would have known before buying. First off, the bad. When you run out of your limited lives (up to 6 lives in the START menu settings) that's it. You start all the way back to the first stage. This is rather unfortunate, they could not make a mode that could resume where you died, because the game gets very challenging fairly quickly and I really want to see just how insane it gets in later levels. Another thing is the control takes a while to get used to, jumping requires letting go of all directional buttons to make mario jump left or right. This is how the game was though and deserved to be authentically untouched. It threw me off big time. Took me an hour or two to adjust. However, even with these annoyances I do commend Nintendo for giving us exactly what we payed for, plus some nice video and audio settings. Not too interested in the extra two modes offered, but if you are into high scores over the internet, then it might suit you better. This is a perfect arcade port for a fun arcade game from way back, but better because of the convenience of not carrying around an 800 pound arcade cabinet and also the sound and video settings. Tips. Try the video filter set to off, I personally like it much more than the default setting and it is what I use for Neo Geo games. I found I liked the B1 scanline and scroll filter the best. Looks like a real arcade to me and gives me the warm fuzzies. Also, play with the audio and turn the reverb way up. You will like it.

I have played several other tactical strategy rpgs and always lost interest, but I am loving this one. I love that it doesnt take itsslf too seriously. It runs beautifully and has loads of content. Love the combo systems and wacky dialogue/story.

I never was a real big fan of Smash Bros. I liked Melee, but this game just totally blew me away. Best fighting fun since I was playing Street Fighter II in the arcades. But even better than that. Easy 10/10 for me.

I've never had so much intense fun with a racing game in my life! Very easy on the eyes and tantalizing at that. Sound effects are there and the music, but as good as everything is in the game, I think the sound is it's weakest link. No biggie. The new tracks are wonderful and a nice careful selection of remastered tracks. Worth buying a new Wii U for? You bet your last pair of clean socks it is!!

Some of the puzzles could have been a bit better thought out, but other than that.. swimming, riding rhino, using the supporting characters, traveling the worlds, and boss battles are all very fun and thought out. The soundtrack is epic for a Donkey Kong Country game. Very easy on the ears and eyes. Except the sounds it makes when you die. And you will die. Probably more than you would expect. But it does make for a very rewarding experience when you finally get it right. This is a must have game for any Wii U owner that has a remote interest in platform games.

A few frustrating moments using the gamepad lessened my overall enjoyment with the experience, I recommend wii mote nunchuck for some battles. Overall great game though. I read that Miyamoto is possibly prepping up some downloadable expansion content. I hope this happens!

One of the finest adventure games tweaked and remastered make this a no-brainer for Wind Waker newcomers and a fantastic nostalgia ride as well. Pleasantly surprised that this game is the best gaming experience that I have had this year.

Awesome level design with loads of extra content make this a platformer game fan's dream. You can lose hours upon hours into the content of this games easily many times over and still have plenty to do. This is also my favorite version of this game to play on the Wii U.
