The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

As per usual, the Hunger Games is the typical Young Adult shlock that is pushed out to make a major cash grab from teens everywhere. Again, the movie tries to push "commentary" that is so oblivious that anyone who calls this movie smarter than the average YA movie or thinks they are smarter for watching this movie is actually getting dumber for watching it. It wastes the talented cast on meaningless dialogue that is just following the YA formula at this point.

While PTA has been in a somewhat slump (compared to his other films) recently, Inherent Vice is still fun to watch if you know what you getting into. The Performances, production design, and costumes are amazing, and the aesthetic really gives off the '70s vibe. However, the plot is disjointed, the cinematography is a bland, and the dialogue mainly consists of two characters talking about another character that is elsewhere. Overall, it is fun to watch if you are a PTA fan, or know what you are getting into.

This movie is one of the worst January has to offer. However, this movie is so hilariously bad, it makes it watchable. Seriously watch this movie, you want regret it. Except for the fact that Jennifer Lopez doesn't get naked which would have made it more watchable.

Just because something took 12 years to film doesn't mean it will be good or original. Put the same story in film that was made in about a month, and it would be average. That doesn't make it terrible, but it is decent to say the least.

The film does an excellent job of not taking sides in one of the best war movies in recent years. The handheld camerawork adds to the intensity of the story. While there is little character development, the story, acting, directing, and cinematography carry through.
