The Medium7

Overall 7/10, but only due to this being on GamePass. Played on XSX. Ok adventure game. Not really scary, tho the story is interesting from start to end. Also this game is an Xbox Series exclusive, but comes from a small studio so do not expect next gen graphics. Looks ok, nothing spectacular. Puzzles are easy but still ok. Now, what I disliked: - No QuickResume

Call of the Sea4
Dec 17, 2020
Call of The Sea was a bumpy ride for me. It started great. I was loving the adventure and the graphics + performance on Series X. However, after around 30% of the story the game starts going downhill and continues till the end. Puzzles are ok, graphics are great, performance ok (later in the game there are SERIOUS frame drops). The thing that made me give this game such a note is story. It just wasn't for me apparently. As mentioned, I was loving it till a certain point, but afterwards the narrative turns and goes into a different direction, that I was just not a fan of. Disappointing ending as well for me. At least the game is in game pass and is 4h long, so you are not risking a lot by giving it a try.

7/10 The game is a beautiful story while still being entertaining enough with the gameplay to not bore the player. Emotional ending and interesting facts placed as optional collectibles.

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden8
Nov 27, 2020
A solid 8/10. Deducted from a 9/10 due to several bugs that I encountered, one causing me to restart the whole system. Might be patched now. Otherwise the game is a joy if You like XCOM turned based games. It looks very good when it comes to the graphics, but lets be honest - the strength of this title is in the gameplay. Enemies are well balanced, and teammates diversified enough. The game does end quicker that I would like it to, but it is still an interesting journey. Highly recommended

A Plague Tale: Innocence10

Absolutely loved this game and every minute spent with it. It is very rare nowadays that a game will have such effect on me. I was hoooooked. The story telling and the characters (along with a lot of narrations during combat or while moving) made such a connection between me and the main characters, that I was dying to see what is going to happen next as well as I literally care about the heroes future. Gameplay is also very satisfying, combat is engaging. Usually I do not stealth games, but this one is made the right way. I never felt like the game was funky and unfair. The opposite. If I screwed up, I died. But never due to a faulty enemy. Kept me invested in the characters journey from beginning till the end. For 3 days I could not play anything else, absolutely loved it. A rare 10/10 from me.

Two Point Hospital7
Nov 27, 2020
Played on One X. The game runs very smooth, if (later on) you have really a huge hospital - the game can drop some frames. In general the game is very entertaining. Missions/objectives are fun, and the gameplay is fulfilling. The problem starts after a few hours, more like 8-10. Unfortunately, the game becomes repetitive and starts to be boring. Objectives are kind of the same what you have already seen and done, only with some more difficult mod applied to the hospital making achieving this goal more difficult.

Metro Exodus7
Nov 27, 2020
I am not a Metro fan. I have not read any book, however I did play all the games. Exodus was a nice trip. I enjoyed the train and location based storyline. The story was an interesting one, while gameplay was similar to previous Metro games. Also the length of the game is satisfying. The one thing I did not enjoy was the ending, but it is subjective I guess so every one can have their own opinion about it. Also played the expansions, absolutely nothing to write home about, but still a nice addition to the base game. 7/10

NieR: Automata - Become as Gods Edition9
Nov 27, 2020
I enjoyed the hell out of this game and the uniwersum, Normally I would be pissed of while re-playing kind of the story, here I did not mind at all and stayed glued to my console playing for hours. Gameplay is fun, but I think the main attraction here is in story + characters. Loved this experience. 9/10

A 7/10 The game was quick and fun, but nothing more. A quick and fun game, yet not a memorable one. Completed, had a blast, few weeks and I will for the love of God not be able to tell you what the story was about. Still, the game is ok and playing it is fun. Nothing more

Wasteland 33
Nov 27, 2020
A terrible experiance for me. Played it on Series X, after playing Gears Tactics. I know that those are not 1:1 games, Wasteland being open world etc, but boy is wasteland ugly compared to Gears Tactics on a big screen and series X. Once you get past the visuals, the gameplay was rough for me as well. The skill system works fine, however I had issues when it comes to several missions, objectives and general game progression. In order to give it a try and write this review I pushed myself to 10h of gameplay, but this was it for me. I did not finish the game as it was literally painful and I had no pleasure of the gameplay. For me it was a could not complete and an avoid due to gameplay not being fun for me. 3/10

Ori and the Will of the Wisps8
Nov 27, 2020
works great on Series X, either 4K120FPS or 6K60FPS. The game itself is beautiful and a must play. Magical story and a great metroidlike game. For me (I am a noob) It was really challenging on Normal difficulty, however not impossible to complete. Beware, there will be frustrating parts :) Highly recommended

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan6
Nov 23, 2020
A true 6/10 game. On the surface the game looks really nice, gameplay is similar to Until Dawn (quick time actions, deciding on the dialogues and in important moments under pressure which way to go etc.). However, the game takes around 4h to beat. Moreover, as many other ppl mentioned already - the story feels well paced till 3/4, and than boom, fast forward and you are watching the end credits. Last 1/4 of the game feels rushed. Also the story overall is not that great and consists of noticeably less big moments/big choices that will change the plot going forward. I can not see anyone paying the full price and enjoying this title, but in GamePass or maybe at a deep deep sale this can be treated as a movie. I completed this game at once in around 4h and I do not regret the time spent, however I feel like the game had much more potential if the story would go in another direction and the game would take twice as long to beat. Shame...

Paper Mario: The Origami King6
Nov 22, 2020
Wasted potential. + beautiful graphics + characters + level design + jokes + origami + length of the game - lack of character level up/exp - battle system Review of this game is so sad. This would easily be a 9/10 or 10/10. The world is beautiful, characters are lively and entertaining. Levels are great and jokes in between funny. The length of the game is also very good, 5x call of duty campaign. However there are two things that are wrong with this game: - lack of character level up (gaining experience). There are only like 4 types of the same weapons (weak, normal, strong, the best), and thats basically it. No character development at all apart from equipping weapon and accessories (with a few better versions available) - the battle system. Using the rings is fine for 20 minutes, but afterwards gets repetitive and boooooring. Align the characters in a straight line for the jump attack or in a 2x2 group for the hammer attack. And that is it. Repeat this in every battler (ok, apart from boss battle). This is so boring and frustrating. Does not matter if this is a combat in your 1st playtime hour or 25th, the battle will look the same. Extremely boring. That is very sad, as the battle system is very important in this game. As mentioned all the other parts are great. The world looks great, levels are well designed and characters funny. However, the repetitive and shallow combat ruins the game experience, as the combat is with us from the beginning till the end of this title. 6/10

I guess this is one of those games, that you either love or hate. In my case I played a few matches, even (due to being probably match makes with other first timer players) made #1 in one match. However, I did not enjoy this at all. Combat is chaotic, there is almost no difference between match #1 and match #999. Same map, same tactics, same rush to higher ground. Sure, the game is free to play so kudos for this, however for me it is just not worth my time

Forza Horizon 410
Nov 22, 2020
One of the best games in this generation. I bought it for lunch and never stopped playing. The game is being continuously updated with new races, events and things in general to do. The community is also strong and meeting other drivers just to cruise along the map is easy. This game reminded me a lot of the times I spent hours just driving with other players in Test Drive Unlimited. The game looks great in 60FPS, highly recommended playing this on either One X or Series X. Naturally you have a ton of things to do. Rally, Street races, Drift, afterwards finding lost cars or completing drift zones/speed traps located on the map. This game never gets old. Brilliant game

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order8
Nov 22, 2020
Highly recommended. I played it on Series X for the first time. Solid 60 fps. The game is great. It kind of feels like Sekiro met Star Wars. The gameplay on the Jedi Master is the best experience in my opinion, as this requires each combat to be challenging. This is a great single player game. No In App Purchases, no Multiplayer nonsense. The story is interesting enough, however the gameplay is in my opinion where the game shines. Each new skill you unlock makes you feel like the powerful Jedi. The campaign is quite short, and afterwards there is not much incentive to re-play the game apart from additional character skins etc. 8/10

Gears Tactics9
Nov 22, 2020
Highly recommended as long as you enjoy tactical turn based games. This one is much closer to XCOM rather than the Gears family of games. + very good graphics on Series X + blazing fast loading times + XCOM turn based gameplay, I highly enjoyed it + Bosses + VERY high difficulty level. On normal difficulty level you will be sweating a lot, trust me. + leveling up soldiers, skills + loot crates with weapon mods + classical Gears gore effects when executing ennemies - in between the main missions you need to do some side missions. Kind of repetitive - for some (kids with turned off gore?) the difficulty level can really be too much, even on easy (boss encounters especially) - near the end game not enough legendary weapon mods, too much epic (end up being useless as your whole squad already is on the Epic gear) And that is is, I really did not find many bad things about this game. Loved every minute of it, as I am a big XCOM and in general turn based combat fan. The campaign is long and afterwards you can continue playing the Veteran missions, waiting for some DLC to come.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe8
Nov 12, 2020
I never played a Pikmin game before. Loved the main game. The game is totally accessible for a first timer and explains all the mechanics well. NOTE - I played on the highest difficulty level and it worked perfectly. Was just challenging enough but absolutely not too difficult. The highest difficulty level limits the number of Pikmins in your team from 100 to 60. 100 is waaaaay too many and makes the game too easy. A solid 8, almost a 9. The campaign is great, however ends pretty quickly. There is this constant pressure between exploration for food for our crew, and the mission objectives pushing the story ahead. The add ons - its here, however they are nowhere near as good as the main campaign. They are very easy, thus taking away the great 'stress' feeling from the main campaign (limited Pikmins to 60, the constant worry about food). It is something more to play, but really nothing special. If I have played this game before on the WiiU, I would not pick this up on Switch. That just does not make sense, as there is nothing special about this release. For a new comers like myself - highly recommended. As a total package a strong 8/10 , the main campaign is short but great.

Days Gone8
Jun 16, 2020
I was very pleasantly surprised by this title. I only played it now, thus many many patches after the release. Also picked it up at a discount. Was not expecting much from all the hate, but ended up loving the game. 8/10 for me + story is really interesting overall + you can feel TWD atmosphere + game length - I expected 1/4 of what I got. Played it for 2 weeks, could not put it down + many skills to level up + free choice to fight using fore weapons or melee + bike customisation + side quests are really enjoying. There are like 4-5 categories, but they are mixed in such a way, that they do not become boring. Completed (what is rare for me) all side-quests, was not bored + no paid DLC, every new content (challenges, new game +) is included - some small bugs, rare now after all patches - once levelled up to max (melee combat skills), you can take out almost everyone with melee custom weapon (Normal difficulty). Feels a bit overpowered - mid-game story does not always make sense, but still is acceptable Overall very pleasant surprise for me, I would definitely recommend to give it a try, especially now after all the patches. Initially it was a 6, 7 /10 for me, but the game really grows on you after 10-15+h in. Finally a solid 8/10 or maybe even 9/10, depending on how much you dig into the post apo zombie world

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech7
Jun 16, 2020
I really enjoyed this game. It is very easily accessible when it comes to card game mechanics (for example when compared to the Witcher Gwint card game), the rules are simple yet at the same time gameplay is very enjoyable. BUT, it is best played in small time portions. There is not that many cards to build custom deck (once you unlock some powerful ones you tend to stick with them through many chapters) and as mentioned the gameplay rules are quite straightforward, thus the game is perfect for short sessions. After 1h of continuous play it starts to get boring. There is a New Game + mode (which is a plus), but the limited number of cards to unlock do not make it appealing to re-play the game. You will probably stick with most of the end-game deck, maybe upgrading some cards. Still - it's nice that new game+ is here. So overall 7/10. Perfectly enjoyable in small 30min subway rides, but would bore to death on a 10h non-stop flight if it was the only game I had. While on sale - I would definitely recommend to pick it up,
