The Juice is baack. It was worth the 35y wait. Not sure what Monica Staplehead was up to besides snorting souls, but she's easy on the easy, even with staples. The sandworm returns as everyone's favorite pet. I also love Juice's tall assistant's with the tiny heads. Of course the whole thing is ridiculous fun, that is the point. And we will watch it again soon.

That this film exists is a miracle in itself. I had suspected this could be special, after Villeneuve's "Arrival" one of my favorites of all time. Dune 2024, uber-powerful, at times hallucinogenic, but always so other-worldly grounded. this is one for the ages (not just the present). Beautifully wrought with devotion to the books, and a strong sense of spirituality, both universal and intimate. Its mesmerizing spatial visuals were brought to life resoundingly with a score that pulsates with both an unworldly vibe and supernal vitality. It was an honor to discover this rare gem of artistry, perhaps simply described best as a "tear in a desert spring". Yes, thanks to Denis and his galant team, miracles indeed still abide, while others now await their days in the blazing crucible of future creation. Dune Messiah.

I had a hunch that this was going to turn out to be better than the "critics" reviews, which over the past years have become increasingly full of themselves, and not what they were watching. Kudos to JJ and crew for hanging in there and delivering. My son and I both enjoyed this immensely. It has a heart as big as a Wookie's.
