No quest markers and no map was a great idea. Its too bad the rest of the game was crap. The game desperately needed a way to keep notes inside the game. Or tag things with keywords. The "mysteries" became really annoying and unfulfilling to solve. O wow, my reward was an item that increases weapon experience one time. Thanks. The combat is also garbage. Linking stamina to health was a terrible decision. Maybe a 50% reduction? But equal reduction? That's dumb. The enemies are also poorly designed. You can't tell if they are having a seizure or are about to attack. Sometimes your attacks stagger, sometimes they don't. The combat is completely unpredictable, in a bad way. Don't even wait for a sale. Skip this game.

If this game were called Stellar Dude and the protagonist an average-looking guy good at acrobatics, it wouldn't have been nearly as successful. But because it stars a cute/hot asian chick, it was perfect gooner bait. The combat is good, but not great. Being able to be chained around because you are being mobbed by different enemies with different attack patterns, because there are no invulnerability frames upon taking damage whatsoever. You can get stuck in situations where you literally cannot dodge because you haven't finished falling to the ground but can still take damage. Or an enemy can hit you just as an execution animation has ended. Many enemy attacks have the unpredictable "immmmma winding up my punch.....hereeeeeeee itttttt coooomes *pause* *lightning fast swing* " making parrying more annoying than it needs to be. And the story suffers from anime syndrome. Long-winded, unnecessary dialogue pointing out things that are obvious to the player in a manner no human would ever form a sentence. It's the 2020's. You can find someone who isn't just familiar with your language + **** can find someone who is fluent in both, and is a writer. Heads of these sorts of projects always seem to skimp out on the script writing to save money. And the project always suffers. The story is pretty bare bones anyway and not very interesting.

A goofy 1st person metroidvania. Fun and silly. Not much replay value. Buy it on sale and have about 10-16 hours of fun. Maybe about 20 if you wanna get every last unlock.

SimCity meets Dungeon Keeper. Offers interesting gameplay. No real replay value. There is no real way of doing anything different or using different tactics. Just build up the tech tree and eventually win. Im not even sure if there is a way to lose. A nice deviation from the traditional SteamWorld games. DON'T DO IT AGAIN!

Take a bit of fallout, baldurs gate, xcom, put it in a warhammer 40k shaped mold and you've got Rogue Trader. The game looks good but the combat is shallow while the mechanics behind it are unnecessarily complicated and obtuse. Some abilities are very complicated, requiring hyperlinks within the ability itself, requiring referencing multiple things while trying to reference things. And much of all this complication amounts to a hill of beans or worthless or super situational abilities. And with how often you level up and every class being so different having to read what abilities do before you pick them over and over and over again gets very tiresome. And there are dozens of abilities to choose from. I will give props to one mechanic that this game has that the xcom series desperately needs. You can select the tile you intend to move to and you will be able to see if you will have line of sight and % chance of hit before you make the actual move.

Combat ****. Inventory **** and is very limited. Which is only made worse by the trading system. Ya see, traders only work on a barter system, no generic currency. So if you want to buy an expensive item and you don't have enough value to buy it in your limited inventory, too bad. Even if you have plenty of items in storage that would more than cover the cost. It has to be in your actual inventory at the time. So you're going to have to trade more valuable items such as bullets or grenades, just to be able to buy the item. Then if you want your bullets or consumables back, you get to buy them back. At a markup, of course. Whomever thought up this system and play tested it and said "Looks good, ship it" should never design anything ever again. It's got all the ingredients for a good game, but the execution is beyond terrible. But what's absolutely laughable is that these people have **** their brand new IP....from a studio you've never heard of. I hope the dollar signs in their eyes don't block their vision. Do. Not. Buy.

Only got to the 3rd mission before the terrible AI made me uninstall. Stealth missions where the AI can alert the enemy is terrible...TERRIBLE design. This is a first, there has not been a single player mech warrior game that I did not love. This is hot garbage. Save your money.

Terrible level design. Terrible enemy design. I thought we left enemies with instant hitscan back in the 90's but apparently, they thought they'd be a great idea to bring back. Terrible weapon design. Making it necessary block and parry with the same shield that can temporarily break, making it impossible to parry is stupid. All of the weapons are functionally the same with few exceptions. There is no "wrong" weapon to use. And hint. If you need to include a way to infinitely replenish ammo and health (respawning fodder demons and recharging melee attacks) and was as "extra lives,"....your design and balance are terrible. Doom Eternal was better than this but Doom 2016 was better than both combined. Wait for a sale or play on some sort of pass. 1/4 of the way through I turned difficulty all the way down just so I could brease through, see the content while wasting no more of my time while not throwing away the time I had already spent.

This game ****. And I had just written a review but it got deleted by metacritics stupid comment box because it was set on the ps5 version, but since I was playing it on PC and when I switched it, it deleted the whole thing. TLDR. Ok combat. Terrible traversal. With constant changes of what is climbable or not. Especially with changing planets. These aren't puzzles, they are delay tactics. Don't buy. Don't even play it on gamepass because it's not worth the time.

I played this game for about 15 minutes before I gave up. Horrible controls, ugly visuals and terrible game play mechanics. Clicking and dragging to move stuff is not immersive nor fun. Got this in a bundle and it shows. Perhaps it is the greatest psychological thriller ever, I'll never know.

Don't believe the hate. I fell in love with the DMC franchise the moment I saw a preview for it in an EB store, back in 2001. Badass, was not an adequate word for it. Loved the franchise ever since. Then I heard about the reboot and heard all about the controversy and the middle finger ninja theory gave to the fans with the white wig "never in a million years" insult. And decided not to play it. Got dmc in a bundle and decided to play it. I was missing out. This game is pretty awesome. The combat is fun and varied. The environments and visuals are great. And the new dante, is immaturely hilarious. The story is meh, but its alright. I think had ninja theory not pissed off the fans, this game would done and been received much better.

Lackluster, hard to follow story that jumps around too much. Persona system is interesting, but falls flat when you are forced to adopt one persona 90% of the time. Also, buggy as hell with some of the worst climbing controls and detection of the series.

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas

Yes, its a zelda inspired game. But what game nowadays, hell, what piece of art or work doesn't draw inspiration from SOMEWHERE? So, not holding that against it. Oceanhorn is a mediocre title. Not great, not awful. Game play wise it is sufficiently fun. Lack of consistency of physics makes puzzles hard to figure out sometimes. Sometimes you can push blocks, sometimes you can't. Sometimes you can jump down a cliff, sometimes you can't. Sometimes you can swim somewhere and barely make it before drowning, sometimes you can't. The music can be great at times. But the animations are clunky and the writing, story, and voice acting are god awful. The voice actors are amateurs at best and either they were given the wrong script or it was put in wrong because the captions often don't match the voice dialogue. And the person who wrote the dialogue and story clearly failed English. If this was a short story turned into a teacher, it would have gotten a D at best. Overall, this game had a lot of promise, but lacked the polish it needed before it was released. Not bad, just not very good.

Too much story, too many cut scenes and QTE's are lazy development. Shoddy controls and unclear cues make moving around levels and fighting bosses frustrating. The game tries to have in depth combat but it boils down to, whip whip dodge. Frustrating camera angles plague game play as well making boss fights a pain as well. Avoid this game.

RNG RNG RNG. I put up with the games RNG for quite a while. I thought it even added a bit of challenge to the game. But after I got stuck in a city, with no way out except proceeding forward. In a fight, where my entire party starts under a bit of scaffolding holding a bunch of rocks and the enemy kept doing a wind attack that took 3 of my 4 party memebers out before I could even move my first turn. Over and over. I was done. Very poorly made game. Its a shame I'll never bother to see the rest of it.

One of the most overrated games I've ever played. For a game about assassinating people, I haven't done much assassinating for the first few levels. Lots of walking around "blending" in. I.E. Moving VERY slow. The first guy I killed, I didn't even "assassinate". I couldn't get out of his way fast enough because if you do anything besides the slow, slow, prayer walk, the guards will just attack you. So he walks up to me and screams "YOU DARE CHALLENGE ME?!" and attacks. So I kill him then **** away? They could have gotten anyone to do that. Not a highly trained assassin. Oh, and look at that guy, trotting on his horse in the middle of the countryside...KILL HIM. I can only imagine they make you move so slow most of the **** to pad the game out. Terrible game.
