This expac is for my fello Lyse stans. Story wise I think it's a lil less exciting than HW, MSQ got reaaally repetitive there for a while. It's not bad by any means, but def not the best. Some of the new zones added are really really cool, others not so much. The story is a lot more war/politics based and less fantasy epic battles. All in all it's 100% worth it for some main character's developments, new races and characters, zones, mechanics and stuff, they added some really cool new stuff to the gameplay here.

Heavensward. Was. Amazing. As someone that installed FFXIV just because I was bored and everyone said the free trial included a lot, Heavensward was what made me an absolute fan (and convinced me to buy the complete edition). The graphics improved, the new characters you meet in HW are still some of my all time favorites in the FF universe. There is a lot more voice acting than in ARR, and the missions and storyline are notoriously better written. It really got me on the edge of my seat at times and ontroduced a lot of new mechanics and fights that I didn't even imagine would be in this game. It also made me cry and get attached to the new characters. The new cities you discover are AMAZING. An amazing continuation to ARR and definitely the expansion that made me fall in love with FFXIV. And for free included with the free trial as of 2020!!!

I'm a new player in 2020 and this is my first MMO. I tried BDO for a couple of hours but nah. I'm not sure if I want to give ARR an 8 or a 9, I was very patient since the beginning because I now next expansions are amazing so I knew it was worth it to play through ARR. It's very nice, I used the free trial for 150 hours (and could've done it for waaaay longer) but at the end of ARR I said "efff it" and bought the complete edition. Also invested in a MMO mouse. Long story short, I'm in LOVE with this game, bit I'm not giving ARR a 10 because I do think it will do poorly compared with the next expansions. Voice acting (eng) kinda **** and I had to get used to reading a lot in game but after 180 hours it's so worth it. The story might be slow at times (just like in ANY game) but it has amazing moments. I'm so invested in getting good at this game, I love trials and dungeons and the community is AMAZING. I never ran out of things to do and learn. I would give FFXIV overall a 10/10, but just ARR an 8. Do try it, free trial is amazing.

Is very good, not great. It all felt like a wonky version of the new Assassin's Creed games (Origins and Odyssey), but that's not terrible. Still a beautiful game with fun combat mechanics and wonderful open world. Story is not ground breaking but very enjoyable, actually had interesting side missions (if you pay attention and invest yourself in those secondary characters' stories). My maaaaaain issue was the camera, this game has no camera lock-in to enemies and would clip into objects if you fight near them. This would make some fights so annoying because you might not hit enemies a lot of times. Over all it is a good game, more on the casual side, good for open world exploration and enjoying the combat styles, definitely great for those who already love traditional samurai stories. 8/10 I'll keep playing it casually from time to time til I unlock everything and get all the collectables.
