Great looking game with fun traversal bogged down by too many mechanics, bad controls, and some of the worst story/quest structure in gaming. It literally feels like a worse BDO sequel turned into a single player experience and I don't like that. Still, is the game terrible, no, but it's not for me.

RE9 is the perfect mix of RE7/8 and RE4. Grace segments are like RE7/8 but better. Leon sections are like RE4 and almost as good. The cast is excellent and I feel like Grace is the best new character introduced in ages. Leon is the same old Leon but now carries and lot of regrets from the past. The environments are great, but I did grow a little tired of the dilapidated Raccoon City after a while. The medical center is excellent, and I feel like we are getting a taste of a future RE1 Remake with its design. It was fun to explore every segment of this game. Combat is a delight as you are weak as Grace, so you need to pick and choose your battles. While Leon is a walking killing machine with years of experience under his belt. All of the guns felt good and I enjoyed every engagement. Visuals are excellent and I love that the RE Engine has been so successful for Capcom. They could literally never upgrade from here and be perfectly fine. Every detail looked incredible on PS5 and PC. Same goes for sound design, absolutely perfect. Overall, now my second favorite RE game after RE4. I do have a lot of nostalgia for RE4 so that may be a factor but still, this game is a 10/10 and I have beaten it twice. Looking forward to the future of RE and Capcom in general.

Better than the first game and loaded with quests, weapons, and skills. Worlds look great, choices matter, and you have to be thoughtful when choosing skills. This is an RPG at its core, and it opens up the world for you to play how you want. This is my surprise hit of the year.

Story is weaker than the first game, but it's still not bad. Gameplay, visuals, music, and customization are better than the first game. The combat is so well done that after rolling credits, I wanted to fight some more. Atsu is an enjoyable character, and I liked the way she looked and the spoke. She truly was a ghost, and I think the game is great.

Silent Hill f10
Sep 27, 2025
Have completed the game and new game plus at least once and I am happy to say that this game is good. The story, atmosphere, characters, dialogue, monsters, symbolism, and horror aspects are all top tier. The foggy town mixed with the red flowers just pops and really gives me tried and true silent hill vibes. The music is some of the best in the series and it fits the whole 1960's horror vibes. The JP voice acting is excellent and the cast should be applauded for their work. The puzzles are just difficult enough on hard mode that horror game fans can figure them out after a little critical thinking. The combat, admittedly the worst part of the game, is still not bad and enemies did not feel hard to take down at all. Took a little bit, but by about the 1.5-2 hour mark, I was starting to enjoy the combat. This game is not a souls like and anyone who says it is, does not really understand a souls like or survival horror. The story is sad, per the norm for these games. The main character is a young girl who has to deal with an abusive father, drug abuse, disrespectful "friends", and the things that come with being a girl in the 1960's. This leads to some revelations around murder and other crimes that can happen when people reach the edge. Graphics are great and I was playing at 130fps a majority of the time on my PC . Ultra wide looked incredible and my only issue was the 30fps cutscenes, which should have been locked at 60 minimum. No bugs or graphical issues for me to report. Overall very satisfied with this game and I look forward to the future of the franchise with all new entries and remakes of the classics. This is now my 2nd favorite Silent Hill game behind Silent Hill 2.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter10
Sep 21, 2025
Best JRPG of 2025. Combat is turn based but is fast a fluid. The music gives you classic JRPG vibes and makes it feel like you really are on an adventure. The characters are interesting and if you want, you can speak to all of the NPC's, and they have a lot to say. The graphics are excellent and I hope all future games in this franchise look and run like this. The story starts off light hearted but the stakes get higher the further you go. Lots of main and side quests that feel worth it to complete. This is the perfect remake of a classic PSP title made for new and old fans.

Hollow Knight: Silksong7
Sep 6, 2025
Not as good as the first game, but not bad. Silksong is more for the hardcore Hollow Knight fans as the game is much more difficult than the original with a lot of flaws that people do not want to admit to. Firstly, a lot of enemies and environmental hazards deal 2 damage, making platforming challenges and "boss fights" painful to play. I say "boss fights" as a lot of the time its walking into a locked room and fighting a horde or enemies, for nothing. Heck, even when you fight normal bosses, they drop nothing. There is no sense of accomplishment in this game. To make up for it, they have fetch quests, hunts, and other boring objectives to unlock items in the shop and get currency. This game lacks any charm that made the first game so great. Its also lacking in music, as most of the time I feel like I am playing in silence. Not one memorable track. Visually, the game looks great like the original but better, especially in ultra wide (3440x1440). Movement and combat are enjoyable, but like I said, getting hit by a little tick and losing 2 life is mind numbing. There are different shrines you can discover to change your move set, even one resembling that of the original game. Each set give you a new base equipment loadout that you need to upgrade to get more slots. The accessories for the slots are OK, and nothing felt super good or bad. I have completed the game, but I have not discovered everything, which is part of the fun with Metroidvania games. I do plan on exploring everything else this game has to offer, but if I had to place it in a list of top Metroidvania games ever, it would probably be behind Hollow Knight, Metroid Dread, Super Metroid, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night. So 5th place, which honestly is not bad at all and I think this is a good game, just not what its being hyped up to be.

The Good- story, graphics, art design, voice acting, characters, some of the combat, and music.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition7
Mar 24, 2025
The weakest entry in the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise and is still not bad. The story is bland and boring, and this is mostly due to your generic blank slate character. The other members of the cast are OK, but only Elma stands out. The music is hit or miss with the New LA music being terrible, and generally the flight music is bad too, but they added an option to remove the lyrics, making it much better. The combat is fun and engaging. Each character has customizable skills and arts that you can change to play well with your main character, whom you get to choose the class. There is a large cast of characters to recruit for your combat team, and you build affinity with them during battle and other story/side events. Sometimes fights can be frustrating due to your AI teammates aggroing other monsters, but for the most part it's great. The world is huge, with a lot of monsters, and that’s about it really. Sure, there are things to discover that give you exp and some loot, but not so much that I want to explore every nook and cranny. Visually the world is impressive, unique, and beautiful. It's what you expect from a Xenoblade game, and I hope we see more of in the future, but with some more stuff to make exploration worthwhile. Visually the game is fine, and it is a Switch title, so go in knowing its 30fps and low resolution. There is a setting to flip on 60fps, but that is most likely going to be for the Switch 2. Ultimately, I am impressed what they can do on this dated hardware. It may sound like I was harsh on the game, but I don’t think it's bad, but it's simply not nearly as story rich or engaging as the past entries. I still recommend to RPG lovers who don’t mind less emotion/story in favor of combat with giant monsters and mechs.

Stellar Blade10
Apr 30, 2024
Stellar Blade has been getting a lot of praise and hate for its beautiful female main character and the many 30+ outfits you can acquire for free in the game. I'll just say this to get it out of the way- Yes, she looks good, and yes, it has a positive impact on the game. That said, you play as Eve, a member of the 7th airborne unit, sent to earth to fight against alien like creatures to take back the planet and restore mankind. Upon arrival to Earth, your whole unit is killed in battle, with Eve being the lone survivor. Eve is saved, repaired, and begins working with Adam and other members of the last human settlement. The story is pretty good, and there are some twists and discoveries that make the story better as you go. Gameplay is where this game really shines. Combat is fast, technical, and not spammy at all. It's like the perfect mix of Nier Automata and Darksouls. You get in a combo, and then counter and dodge, or be punished. While in combat, your attacks and counters will build up beta energy, which is used for powerful special attacks that can stun and lower the defenses of your enemies. Hitting multiple perfect blocks in a row feel so dang good in this game! Outside of combat, there is a pretty good-sized world to explore with lots of items, collectibles, puzzles, and mini bosses to be discovered. The world is so fun to explore and the scan feature on the drone makes finding items so much better. Lastly the music and visuals......what can I say, the game looks great, and the music is top tier. There are 3 visual options, but balanced is the best as the picture is clear, and 99% of the time the game is running 60fps. They really used the power of the PS5 on the visuals and I wish more games would follow suit (looking at you Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth). Also, Eve visually looks stunning, and you can tell they put in a lot of effort to make her. Her movements are smooth, and I encourage those who say she is unrealistic to watch some of the behind-the-scenes mocap work done for her. The music is so good, it reminds me of the soundtracks for Nier Automata with beautiful vocals and relaxing melody's that you could listen to for hours. The boss battle songs are epic, and when you hear the metal music start playing, you get so pumped up. I think this game will win an award for the music, no joke. Overall excellent game with lots of content and high replayability value. Please do not play on easy, normal is perfect for this game. I would give it a 9/10.

Battlefield 20423
Dec 1, 2021
By far the worst BF game in recent memory. Very little weapons, poor map design, bad vehicle mechanics, and buggy beyond belief. I used to praise BF for its state of the art sound design, but it seems they have left that behind as massive tanks and other vehicles can drive 10 feet from you and you won't hear a thing until its too late. The weapons feel weak and insignificant, plus it is so buggy you can shoot someone with 15+ rounds before they start to register. Armor needs removed as well as it is not innovation, it is a gimmick that ruins core gameplay. Rocket launchers do not harm players like they should, C5 feels incredibly weak, there is no penalty to aim when jump and slide shooting. It's like this game is BF in name only. It truly wants to be something that caters to a different player base. One that is not tactical and requires very little thinking, and I hate it. I'm not mad, just disappointed at how bad this game is after being so hyped up. I have been a BF player for 16 years, and I have never been so let down like I am with this game. Also where are the score boards and voice chat? Why are the most basic features gone? What is happening to this company and why are people giving them a free pass? Your time is better spent on other games, seriously.

I am kind of shocked at how bad this game is. No score board, like 4 guns per class, lackluster specialist who remove the sense of true customization, bad servers, unresponsive controls, sometimes can't revive teammates for no reason at all, some of the worst gunplay in modern gaming. This game was not ready for release at all. Also why is there armor in this game? It needs to go. Lastly, the sound effects are the worst in BF history. Literal tanks right on you and you won't hear them. Overall 4/10. Needs a big update.

Genshin Impact8

Genshin Impact is the first gacha game I have ever played, and I have to say, its way better than people let on. First of all, this game is completely free and you can beat the whole thing without spending a penny. Without spending any money, I have pulled 3 "5 Star" characters, 4 "5 Star" weapons, and a bunch of "4 Star" characters + weapons. The game design and art direction is amazing and I really like the Zelda feel I get from the grass, land, and enemies. This game runs smooth on pc, and the colors really pop out at ya, and I love it. Pairing with the great visuals, the music is relaxing and I don't mind listening to it frequently. The combat is really good with each character using a different weapon type and elemental power. Combining the elements causes different status effects, and you can literally pair anything. The goal is to use multiple elements and switch characters frequently. Lastly, the open world is large and full of things to do, making this an incredible achievement for a free to play game. I am going with 8/10 as the online multiplayer is limited and there is no shared loot. Only the main player can open chests. Also, you have an in game currency that is needed to complete dungeons or collect loot from certain world bosses. This is an extreme mobile game aspect that is not welcome at all. It is rumored that an update is coming to increase the cap of this currency, but as of right now its not good. Either way this is a fun game that I will continue to sink more hours (not money) into.

Rage 2 has been a blast for me thus far. The gun play, skills, and general craziness of combat are some of the best I've experienced this generation. The game thus far on my PS4 Pro has ran 1080p 60 fps with no drops and the visuals are great. The world is huge and the different environments are really cool. The story has been fun thus far and I like how goofy this game can be. My biggest complaint is that the driving feels incredibly stiff.

World End Syndrome10
May 10, 2019
World End Syndrome is a visual novel that tells a story about the supernatural, murder, mystery, and romance. Playing as a character who has faced a recent tragedy in his life, so you relocate to a new town and stay in your uncles mansion. During you time at this new location you will attend school and meet a slew of interesting characters. Each character has a different personality and they stayed interesting the whole play through. About 3 hours into the game, you will be given a choice, but there is only one option. Picking this one option leads to the bad ending of the game, which is nuts! and a perfect way to get players excited. Reloading your save, there is now a second option, which allows you to move forward regularly. From that point on, you will decided where you want to go each day, who you want to see, what errands you want to complete, and much more. Giving you a sense of choice that is lacking in some other visual novels. Ultimately the goal is to reach the end of the calender's and get the good ending, which will require trial and error, but the game cross saves data so if you complete a mission and then load an old save, that mission will still be completed. The visuals are perfect, as well as the sound effects. The dialogue is on point and the translators did an excellent job. The character models are unique and the ladies look great. The romance segments are interesting, and mature. Overall this is a great VN and I would highly recommend it.

This has become one of my favorite games to play on the Switch. The game play is fast and fluid. You can deflect bullets with your sword, throw objects, maneuver like a ninja and much more. The trial and error in this game is incredible and finding new ways to wipe out enemies without a scratch keeps me on my toes. I love these graphics too. takes me back to the good old days and the music is outstanding. Story wise, this one is a mind bender and short, but enjoyable.

This game is fun, but not as good as MK 9 or 10. The fights move much slower and combos feel off. The characters are ok but seriously, why is there a dlc character from the pass available **** should have just put them in the game. I'm tired of these passes for stuff they have already done. Also the micro transactions are insane. You have to grind for hundreds of hours to get skins or use real money. What a joke. We usually think of EA and Activision when talking about this stuff but it has made its way to Nether Realm, and we shouldn't let them off of the hook. Extremely disappointed in this game.

This game is not for everyone. If you have a life and little time to game, do not play this game as it is long and extremely tedious. The real life aspects in this game like eating and grooming your horse are obnoxious and nothing I want to do in my video games. We play games to escape reality, not to complete chores. Visually the game looks amazing and the voice acting is great. The main characters voice is ridiculous though, as he sounds like an overplayed fake cowboy. guns and mechanics are OK but the real life aspects killed this game for me. Also riding a horse 15 minutes to a location is not something I want to do after every mission.

Anthem8
Mar 5, 2019
Anthem is not nearly as bad as people are making out. The controls are superb and are some of the best of any game I've ever played. Operating your javelin feels so smooth and enjoyable, so hats off for that. The gun play is also great and the guns feel balanced enough. Skills such as grenades and launchers are fun to utilize and change out for combos. The graphics are amazing and the environment is one of the best I have ever seen this generation. Freely exploring this world in your own iron man type suit is absolutely amazing. Character models look good and the voice acting is on point, though I found myself not caring about the story at all. The loading times are obnoxiously long at times, and the customization of your javelin (appearance) is weak. Their are virtually no new helmets or other parts besides one or two. I was hoping for more customization besides simply changing colors. Missions can feel repetitive and fighting the same enemies over and over again can get boring. But I fought the same enemies over and over again in games like Zelda Breath of The Wild, Destiny 1 & 2, The Division, Far Cry, etc., so no big deal I suppose. Drops feel fine to me after the latest patch but prior they were weak. My biggest complaint is fire and getting hit by nothing. I will literally dodge attacks and they still connect somehow, and heaven forbid you get caught on fire. Fire will deplete your shields and health quickly, even if you are standing in knee high water. Overall this is a fun, but short game that they promise to add to for free with large team. Currently the game feels incomplete which is sad, but normal anymore.

Mar 5, 2019
This is not a good game. The controls are extremely basic and boring. Your cannot do anything really interesting and I guess that is the trade off for 40+ characters. The graphics are good, but looks weird at times. You fight in teams of three but share a health bar, which is ludicrous. Load times are extremely long and makes battling seem tedious. Money is sparse and clothing is expensive. One huge mistake is the season pass. Literally one week after the game was out, they announced fighters to be added the following week. This is predatory and wrong as they had these characters ready and held on to them for a season pass. Bandai Namco should not get a pass for their season pass tactics. This game is good for some mindless battles and big roster, but gets stale quick, I would not recommend.

Apex Legends8
Mar 5, 2019
This game is leaps and bounds better than Fortnite and slightly better than COD Blackout, plus it's free. Visually the game is appealing with nothing really to interesting to look at besides the dinosaurs in the distance. The made is nice but feels small after a couple of games. The gun play is OK as the guns have ridiculously small magazines and clips. Like, why would a R-301 Carbine have an 18 round clip when the small SMG R-99 has the exact same? Hit markers are off a little as certain characters are impossible to hit as they strafe. There are plenty of guns to choose from but the initial landing seems like a pain as guns are not abundant at certain locations. For example I looted 5 houses in a village area and found zero guns. Character classes are kinda lame and I wish they would have stuck with a create a class system similar to Titanfall. Outside of that, this game is addicting and a lot of fun to play with friends. When playing solo with random people it can be frustrating but the new ping system helps.

Death end re;Quest9
Mar 5, 2019
A mixture of visual novel and RPG with some interesting characters, good voice acting, beautiful art, and sub-par graphics. The visual novel segments are not that bad as 75% the story is pretty interesting and you actually start to care for your players. The battle and RPG segments are also enjoyable as you traverse a broken video game world (its suppose to be like that), full of monsters that are actually fun to fight. The combat is turn based and allows you to move freely on the battle field to set up thoughtful combos. The best part of the combat is the chance to unlocking a new skill by mixing and matching other skills in combos, making trying new things rewarding. Also it should be mentioned that this game is not a game about cute girls traveling a video game world, but a game about life or death decisions with horror and thriller aspects, making this game stand out. The only misstep this game makes is the fact that the visual novel parts are way too long sometimes, even when talking about pointless subjects.
