Dust: An Elysian Tail7

Dust is a fun game but it kind of shows you all it's gonna show you pretty early one. It's a game that, despite it's short length, just kind of drags towards the end, with the last area especially not being too much fun at ll. The combat, while simple, is alot of fun. Very early on you'll pretty much have all the combat movies you'll get but fortunately for the game blasting people with magic and then endlessly juggling them never gets old. While you have very few option in combat, all those option are pretty fun. Outside of the combat the gameplay is okay. It gives you a big world to explore but exploring it isn't always fun. The game looks gorgeous and it's impressive it was done by one guy though it is odd that the character look way worse in portrait than they do int game. The music is fine but unremarkable. The voice acting fairs a little worse but it's still passable. The story is absolutely atrocious. It starts in cliche and gets much worse from there. The ending is stunningly bad. Still, it's a pretty fun time overall. It didn't fully hold my interest the entire time but I don't regret playing it. Try the demo, know that you don't really get many more moves than you have there, and if you still want to buy it, do so.

The Unfinished Swan7

A good but not great game. It has some very creative ideas but it doesn't do alot with **** story has some charm but it doesn't really go anywhere. It can be very pretty sometimes and it it's very unique but it just seemed to be missing that extra something that would have made it great. It's also over before you know it without that much reason to go back. Not a bad game but I would have felt much better paying $10 or less for it.

So far the best art game I've played. So simple and achingly beautiful. A game that gives you just enough story so you create your own narrative as you go. Every play through really is a Journey that you'll remember. It's short but you won't find a more perfect and beautiful game experience out there. Game of the year.

This would honestly be a 9 if online hadn't obviously been so rushed. I realize later down the line things will be fixed but right now the fact that this game launched without a spectator's mode is inexcusable. Waiting in an 8 person lobby watching cards bump into each other while listening to elevator music is so awful that it's laughable. I know this will be patched in later but by then the interest in the game will probably be halved at least. The game itself is pretty solid though. It's a fast a furious games that truly lives up to the MVC name. Sure it's not balanced and you can get wasted in a single combo, but that's kind of what MVC is about. The simplified controls work well to make the game even more fast and furious than ever. It's also nice that there's so few repeats in the roster. Still, the game is fairly bare bones. You just got the basic arcade mode, two types of training mode and an online that needs alot of work (along with the previously mentioned lack of spectator mode the net code is just kind **** good). I honestly wouldn't have minded if this game was delayed another month if it meant it would have been released more complete. This mindset hat you can release incomplete games and patch them later is really starting to get out of hand. Still it's a fantastic game and in a few months this review won't even be accurate. So I recommend it, but you can also wait a bit.
