So just finished this after 30 hours of gameplay or so.
I really liked Harry Potter as a kid, read the books since goblet of fire as they were launched, good times... That automatically makes us like the game, although I feel there were lots of missed opportunities here. The main story and quest line is great. Kudos for that. The rest, however, leaves it to be an average game. Main issues, in my view: #1 Side quests, although are not repetitive per se, gave me no incentive to me for doing that (with some exceptions in the beginning for spells etc.). #2 That is also linked to a mediocre item mechanics. You get better items, you upgrade with same materials, breed pets, that's it. After some time it's all legendary items. Also always same price in shops. No sets, only traits for gameplay styles. Could be a lot better.
#3 Natty side quests seemed empty. Game would be better without it and I can see why people complain and even say this was a ESG filler. That does not bother me, but the character is annoying and quests are bad
#4 Alohomora mechanics is a pain in the... really whoever was the game designer responsible for this did a terrible job. Not only boring, but annoying. Also the demiguises statues. I just found myself at the end of the game with level 1 alohomora and need to spend now 1 hour I guess to get the statues to finish the rest that I was locked out. What a pain. This alone to me warrants one star less. No wonder one of the main mods is to remove this
#5 the "mini bosses" or "infamous foes" could be a lot lot better. No development around them, instant petrific totalus on them. == All in all, this is a great Harry Potter game. But that's it. Remove the Harry Potter world and this would be an average skippable 6 or 7 game. I had a good time playing this for the nostalgy (I guess first game since Philosopher's stone for GBA back in 2001), but I really hope devs make a better job in HL2. Sales were great so I hope they take some real feedback other than total revenue.

Great game. Fun, good length on the main story, combat is fun, stealth generally works OK even thought it's spider man and not batman, doing side hustles to get upgrades do not feel like a chore. One point down on the combat that I feel lack more options, although I think they made it "Arkham" style and it really works well. Another one on the side-characters stealth missions that they overdid (one each would have been fine)

I had high expectations for the game and I didn't see much prior to getting it. I remember the old PS games that were mega hits.
On this one graphics are great, levels very well built, actors did an outstanding job. But this was the first game I understood why people go to youtube watch streamings (always seemed weird to me). I just found the game mega-boring. Combat is super repetitive and slow, skills (as far as I got, but could see the others) don't add much, puzzles are a joke (basically throw your axe there). I get it that it is supposed to be story-driven, but who has time for a 16-hour movie? I have stuff to do. Or other hundreds of books, movies and games. I uninstalled and went to youtube watch the main bosses and final. This felt like a chore, I actually prefer to play something that I enjoy.

I haven't played the first game in a while, but I feel was much more impressed at the time than now. Car damage is bad now, you crash it down and it takes a really long time to feel any difference or for your team to tell you something about it. There is drift all the time, you can't really control it. But worst of all, I would love to know who the hell was the stupid idiot that thought it would be a good idea to make an effect when you crash that looks like your graphics card is showing artifacts. Overall, it's fun, but generic and not impressive at all like the first one was at the time.

Absolutely incredible. Hard to stop playing: you just want to complete those first levels to get to the chase, the boss fight, and then the music! Oh, the music! They did an awesome job on level design and music sync, making it all a lot more fun. Graphics are beautiful, although it could have some more effects and visual options on PC, the reason it's not a ten for me. (stock clock, it uses less than 10% of my GPU according to GPU-Z...). Controls are within expect, only reason to complain is the wall run, it's not the best control design there. Very high replay value, very fun, optimal gameplay hours and lots of features.

Needless to say that the actors, story telling and graphics are perfect. I missed some changes that they made since they first showed the game to the public though, apparently to make it simpler to play and develop, which is fine, they probably tested it over and put it the best way in the final game. The real problem for me was the 2 weapon system. That's complete BS, I'm playing on a PC, why would I need to be limited on the way I play like people on a controller? I have 10 number buttons for weapons for Christ sake. Besides, the weapons mechanics suffered a real downgrade from previous games, lacking real interesting upgrades, and the weapons themselves are boring, unlike previous Bioshock's. Other than that, I think that the tapes and side stories were a lot less interesting than in the first game, but maybe that's just me. It's a great game, you can miss it, but the feeling I got after playing it all is that the first Bioshock was better.

Brilliant. You can see the guys who wrote the script had a lot of fun. I would pay $15 easily just for the dialogs. Had many good real laughs and loads of fun.
