Simply incredible game, if you can survive the learning curve. Sadly modern gamers have burned their brains out on tiktok zoomer edits, so nothing that takes any amount of patience or attention stands a chance. And game journos clearly had an illicit agenda against this game in particular. But the real ones saw it how it is - a gemerald in the rough.

The biggest and most important question - is Blades of Fire really the successor of Blade of Darkness we have all been waiting for MercurySteam to finally deliver? And the answer sadly is no, not by a long shot. While fun enough on its own, the key components are simply not there. No combo system, despite the chosen control scheme lending itself excellently to be used for one. No multiple distinct characters with diverse playstyles. While the number of available weapons is larger than the combined arsenal of the 4 BoD heroes, the movesets are actually not nearly as diverse, due to a 90% overlap of the available moves within the 7 weapon categories, with very few exceptions. And while fairly mature, Blades of Fire is not really a Dark Fantasy, like Blade of Darkness. And unlike Blade of Darkness which is nearly endlessly replayable, i failed to see a real reason to start a New Journey in Blades of Fire.I really hope that this game flopping as bad as it did does not take MercurySteam down.. hopefully they will live on to give us a future, more refined evolution of what they tried to do here, and also hopefully they can manage to secure the funds to put it on an actual games tore that people use, instead of the graveyard that is the EGS.

Horrible PC performance and optimisation, the story is goofy nonsense mixed with misandry, and the combat they are so proud of is abysmal ****. There isn't a single thread connecting this to Silent Hill, its just an unrelated game they slapped the name on to boost sales.

Mediocre action game that removed any semblance of being an RPG, combined with absolutely abysmal story, dialogue and character writing whos quality was sacrificed at the altar of identity politics. The dialogue between companions (which feature the worst cast of companions in any Bioware game so far, even giving the edge to Andromeda) is like it was written for Cocomelon. Either the writers have the mental capacity of a toddler, or they think their audience does. Your playable character might as well not be there. He makes zero decisions, and is unable to pivot even in the slightest from the path the writers want him to be - you have 4-5 dialogue options, that ultimately lead to the very same result. Nothing you did in the previous games matters as well. Overall an absolute insult to both long standing Dragon Age fans and anyone who would pick this up thinking it can kill few hours with a descent AAA game. I would not recommend even wasting your time on this if they give it out for free... you need to be paid handsomely for this to be worth your time.

This game is just unfinished garbage. Daily patches since release, still crashes like crazy everywhere you go or whatever you do can trigger a hard crash, corrupting save files and resetting all user settings. It seems like more they patch, the worst it goes. But even if we assume that after a solid year of daily patches, they manage to sort it out finally, the game is still not particularly good - its a middle of the pack AA eurojank souls clone with floaty and unimpactful combat and horrible character animations, and lack of precise control.

Simply a masterpiece. The level of polish and attention to details surpass even most of the FromSoftware titles except the most recent ones (Sekiro, Elden Ring, Armored Core 6) and is head and shoulders above the rest of the "souls-like" pack. The level of challenge also managed to put the so call "souls veterans" on their arse.

i gave Starfield a fair chance. Its rather jarring that the core BGS dev team is so unwilling to evolve for so many years threading the same ground. They have actually regressed in quite few places. I am starting to think they stick to this archaic engine because they are simply too creatively impotent to escape their comfort zone

This is one of those games where you get actively weaker when you upgrade your gear. Yeah, that's right, enemies scale with your upgrade level. But not just that, you cant even stay as an unupgraded bozo, because BOSSES have minimum requirements so you are forced to upgrade anyway. Disgustingly stupid system. The RNG progression also is just a stupid marketing gimmick only done so the devs can brag "how many secrets our world have" - those are not secrets, just a RNG slot machine. It hurts the experience massively. And no, it does not make me wanna replay the same level 30 times so i can get the desired boss randomly spawn for me this time, maybe. The incompetent devs completely misunderstood what in Diablo 2s procedural levels made the game great and overdid it in an insanely bad way. The combat is again, just like in the first game, a chore. While the mere act of shooting by itself is undoubtedly fun, everything else about the combat drags it down. Overall, a **** game that i cannot recommend to anybody. And no, this is not "Dark Souls" with guns. Its insulting to FromSoft's masterpiece to even put this AA jank trash in the same sentence as Dark Souls.

Timeless masterpiece and an outstanding melee action game that is only rivaled by Bloodborne imho in terms of being a very focused and infinitely replayable experience. I would much love if action games could return to this formula instead of going the open world bloat direction. Note to devs - remap the movement to the D-pad on controller.

Despite having some moderate amount of "fun" during the beta, the full game turned out exactly as i predicted based on my experience with how modern Blizzard does video games - a polished turd. They baited the public, then balanced every last drop of fun from the game and turned it into a tedious, and ultimately pointless rat maza grind.

SImply one of the best action games of all time, and the PC re-release only re-confirmed that. Don't bother playing with a controller tho, the combo system simply wasn't built for it, and the publisher who handles the re-release have done nothing to fix that.
