Madden NFL 159
Aug 27, 2014
Madden 15 is quite possibly the best looking game on the current consoles. With the new look to match the consoles, players will have to take time to adapt to the new layout. Generally Madden games make subtle changes from year to year, but this year is different. While picking a play, the play selection is now vertical instead of horizontal. Players on defense can now jump the line, and also look at the quarterback from the defensive view (with the camera panned back). The kicking motion was changed and will take some time to get used to. Offensively the game has not changed, on defense that is another story. The players now have a highlighted cone before the player as a “tackle area” to which the defender has a radius they can tackle. Of course, if your back is turned while a receiver catches the ball, they will not have the cone because they are out of this area. This game is worth getting, especially because July is always a month where players anticipate NCAA football, Madden seems to take the reins that made NCAA different. Madden 16 should incorporate stadium noise, and NCAA will be quickly forgotten.

Call of Duty: Ghosts8
Aug 22, 2014
Call of Duty Ghosts is the cookie cutter first person shooter that has always been around. The game has a deep story that could provide continuing years of sequels. The answer to the ever so popular zombies mode in Treyarch games is the new Extinction mode, which you fight different types aliens. The story and Extinction help the game, but the multiplayer is weak. The multiplayer felt rushed. There were holes in development with exceptions of online modes, and customizations for players. They added perks which was nice, but lacked in the killstreak department.

FIFA 148
Aug 8, 2014
FIFA 14 is by no means a reinvention of the soccer simulator but the slight tweaks that have been done make this game a must buy for those seeking a next gen experience. The game modes that you know and love are back from the highly addictive Ultimate Team to the career mode. Online games bring the typical experience of having opponents lag and quit prematurely or just completely stop moving their players in an attempt to run the clock out without having to incur a penalty for quitting. Overall matches can be found quickly with players around your skill level. The atmosphere created through the graphics, controls and sound make FIFA a truly unique experience letting the gamer feel immersed in the world of soccer. Achievements and Trophies for the game are fairly easy to come by with a few that will take serious dedication to obtain. From first time players to seasoned soccer veterans, FIFA 14 has something for everyone and is a must buy at any price point.

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition6
Aug 8, 2014
Guacamelee is a side scroll beat em up game that may capture peoples experiences in different ways. I unfortunately, was not one of those people. This game was fun in the beginning but lost its allure fast. I choose very carefully which game I buy, and I will say I am happy this is free!

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood8
Aug 8, 2014
Max is a very fun but frustrating game. The game revolves around a young boy trying to save his brother. Max: Curse of Brotherhood is more difficult than it may look. Do not let the boy on the cover fool you, it may look like a childish game, but to the older generation, it will be difficult.

Titanfall9
Aug 8, 2014
If you are a first person shooter fan, this is your game. I gave the multiplayer a 25 out of 40 because the game lacks weaponry. The controls are basic, if you are the typical Call of Duty fan you will love the controls. Graphics and sound are on par with what the Xbox brings to the table. Re-playability to me, gets a 10. If you replay the game during its cycle periodically, that rises the score (generally story games I play through once).

Halo: Spartan Assault7
Aug 8, 2014
Halo Spartan Assault is a top down shooter that provides more content for Halo lovers. Similar to Dead Ops Arcade in Call of Duty Black Ops, Spartan Assault provides a few hours of fun for those looking to cure a Halo fix. The game looks and sounds like a Halo game with controls that take a few missions to master. For the completionist out there, every mission provides bronze, silver and gold ratings based on your performance which can provide added hours for those looking to max everything out. Overall this is an enjoyable time killer and if you were able to get the game for free on the Xbox One in June then you made off with a steal.

Forza Motorsport 58
Aug 8, 2014
Forza 5 is another graphically brilliant game. I show my friends, with the Xbox Smartglass app the graphics and I also let them hear the sounds of metal shearing off my car as I am sailing down the hill. The game is not without its flaws, the game is a run of the mill racing game that while is fun, does not hold my attention for a long period of time.

NBA 2K149

Nba2k14 is a gorgeous game that changed from the previous game. The current game includes the my player mode, but it changed some aspects to it. 2k used more of a story to draw fans into the game. The story follows your character from the start to finish, with different scenarios your player comes across. For instance, you may change your agent (your beginning agent is a childhood friend), you can choose your attitude on your first game, and decide that you take a foul instead of a teammate Those are just a few of the choices your player will choose. My player does not have the option to sim to important games. The rest of the game follows the format as Nba 2k13 did. The game is one of the best looking next gen games.

Wolfenstein: The New Order9
Aug 8, 2014
Wolfenstein perfectly combines what works with Dishonored and the classic Medal of Honor. The games story is a tale about Captain Blazkowicz's fight against the **** Army. The graphics do not disappoint, but they are not quite up to standard with the Xbox One or Playstation 4. The game has simple controls, and most of the achievements are easily attainable. There are parts where the story is dry, but overall it is great. I gave replay a 5 out of 10 because there is not a committed multiplayer. Unless you are someone who plays the game on higher difficulties, there is no reason to play the game after you initially beat it. $30 is a good price point for a game that will give you 8 to 15 hours of gameplay. With $60 I expect a great story with an equally gripping multiplayer.

inFamous: Second Son8
Aug 8, 2014
Second Son is the third game in the Infamous series from developer **** Punch. Second Son is set in the same universe as the first two games but there is a new main character so it is unnecessary for players to know what transpired in the first two installments. The story revolves around Delsin Rowe and his battle against the Department of Unified Protection. Along the way Delsin gains various powers that are as enjoyable to watch as they are to use. The Karma system plays an important part in deciding what kind of play through is achieved. The choices between good and evil are left to the player and its effects will radiate through the story and the powers that can be obtained. Seattle is an absolutely gorgeous open world setting and while it lacks the abundance of large buildings that the previous games had being able to climb up the iconic Space Needle more than makes up for it. The controls feel fast and fluid with some clever uses of the new touch pad on the PlayStation 4 controller. A comprehensive power tree and added difficulty levels will keep the most dedicated players glued to their seats for hours. Overall Infamous Second Son is a very strong addition to the series and a must own for PlayStation 4 owners who want to show off what their new piece of hardware can do.
