What is it with game journalists on web sites these days? Every time some thing slightly different from the norm comes out they laud it with praise and give it near perfect review scores. Poor old games buyers rush out to buy what the press says it the best game ever invented and find an interesting concept for a game that lacks that something that journos seem to forget about - FUN!. The city looks fine only very little happens, all the interviews are basically the same and the driving is poor and the shooting pathetic - Kane and Lynch 2 was much more fun. If you want something similar that is fun try the underrated Mafia2 instead, that is still far from perfect, but is fun which after all is what games are supposed to be about. Personally I'd rather play Saint's Row 2 and watch re-runs of Columbo.

It's a great game. Carries on in the style of the last game (same game engine). Experienced wasteland warriors will know what to expect. There's a few little bugs. I had to restart from a previous save one or twice during the game. Loads of quests and sidequests. I think the humor is funnier and a little darker than the last game. Multiple companions are allowed this time. You can play anyway you want to progress the story. I went from good to evil and back as I saw fit. It can really affect your standing with different factions in the game. Well worth playing

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam10
Mar 8, 2011
Best DLC of last year. Easily worth the 1200MS points. More of Battlefield's unique brand of strategy and mayhem. The graphics seem to look better than in the original game. The sounds and soundtrack are fantastic. 5 maps, of which two are outstanding (only one poor one in my opinion). If you like Battlefield get this now.

This game had high ambitions and missed out hitting nearly each and every one of them. After several weeks the online problems and game save corruptions are still no nearer being fixed. The devs have gone quiet on the forums. I wouldn't be surprised if it was never fixed. A very disappointing sequel to a good original.

Medal of Honor8

The Old Medal of Honor franchise gets an up to date reboot. Essentially this is two different games. The single player by Danger Close uses a version of the Unreal Engine to good effect to create a good looking fast paced shooter, along the lines you'd expect these days from any of the major publishers. It's a good story with some of the best voice acting I've experienced in an fps. There are plenty of other things to do apart from shooting and walking about lets the game change pace from time to time. If you've loved Infinity Ward's single player experiences in COD you may be a little disappointed, but it's as good as anyone else's. Everything works as you'd expect if you're used to COD or Battlefield. Multiplayer is by DICE (the Battlefield studio) and you can tell instantly. It's pitched somewhere in-between the small maps of COD and the wide open spaces of Bad Company. If you imagine COD met Bad Company in a nightclub and they got it off and had a one night stand - MOH is the sort of child they would produce. It's slower than COD but faster than Bad Co. You can destroy more objects than COD but less than Bad Co. You unlock better weapons and ammo upgrades (perks) along the way and there is a form of kill streak, but it's not as overly dominant as in COD. Personally I like it at the moment but I don't know if it will have a lasting appeal (update - two weeks in and I'm still loving it). There are modes that COD and Bad Co. players will be familiar with and the promise of more maps and game modes free to VIP pack purchasers may extend the game, although I predict it will become quieter after the release of Black Ops in a few weeks time. All in all a good first attempt, I hope they continue with this franchise as they're plenty of potential for it and it's a good game, just with some serious competition in its genre

Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley4

This game has some genius moments. I love the stats screen song. It's almost worth the price of the game alone. The cut scenes are generally great and the story is fun too. The only let down is the game play - there's not much too it and one you get the hang of the trick that seems to clear most levels it's not that hard either. It's a pity really as there's a lot of imagination and effort in places. Just not where it counts.

The graphics and sounds are very good. The handling of the cars feels right (not that I have any first hand experience). Actually taking part in races is great fun, along with qualifying and practice to improve you car and lap times during the season. It's just sometimes you can get held in the pits as the rest of the field is let through by your pit crew or sometimes the AI cars ignore mandatory pit stops. There are no real game breakers that you can't work around. It's just it would be better if these issues had been picked up before release. The engineer can be annoying too by giving you irrelevant or wrong information from time. A good first attempt from Codemasters, but a lack of polish on the out of **** areas of the career mode and a few annoying bugs and omissions stop this from being a great game.
