Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception8

The main reason why I bought this game at first place was because my cousin urge me too and I have no game to buy for my PS3 in a long time so I gave it a try, color me surprise it's actually a good one. It's not a perfect game due to the lack of actually having a good plot for the 3rd chapter in the series because it felt loose and never gave a satisfying conclusion. I was wondering how I could finish this game if the starting is already wearing me down but lucky for me I finished all 22 chapters and I will say it's one the best PS3 gaming experience I'll ever have (although the game is just way too short for my liking), yes the aiming is at times frustrating but it was never bad enough to discourage for enjoying the game... while I do think the game holds many flaws but minor ones, now I'll await a good multi-player from my cousin XD.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII5

What can I say about this game that hasn't been said... it's just weak, though Square Enix made an effort to try something new, this is one of those time that they missed the mark... way off. I don't need to express much, the gameplay is plausible but weak, the graphic is stunning (the only good thing), the plot... well, it's FF 7, when did the plot ever dissapoint. Cameo characters in fun, Caith Sith I love YOU!!!... well, it's just a mixed review, don't expect much.

So far the only complain I saw are the Chick-flick style... seriously, you cannot enjoy a game because it's too girly for you... it's like saying you can't enjoy Pokemon because it's too childish. Huh, I'm too tired to argue and so I'll just say this, it's a recycled game with a vamped up gameplay and way too easy bosses. It may not be as challenging for and RPG fan but it serves it purpose as an entertaining one.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy8

It's a PSP game and that's a console that Square Enix is still willingly spend that much time and effort into producing high quality games for it. Five major points to talk so it's a simplified version, GRAPHICS: slick nice damn good for a PSP. MUSIC: Nice, especially the Chaos version of the fanfare. GAMEPLAY: Can be repetitive at times but redeems itself with the fast pace action and random button mashing (which is good in this case). CHARACTERS/PLOT: Well, they're Final Fantasy characters so I have my own opinion on certain characters... well, it's a solid cast and plot. REPLAYABILITY: This is my concern point, after finishing every single quest possible for the game... I don't feel compel to replay it, maybe it became tedious after a while... maybe... well, it's still a decent game to own as a self-proclaimed hardcore FF fan.

Currently on a quest to finish reviewing (or at least write short comment) on Final Fantasy games I played before, not surprisingly this is the first PS2 game I ever played. The moment I laid eyes on cutey-pie Tidus... I mean the awesome graphics on Zanarkand being terrorized by sin, I was like wow... thank god I have a PS2. As an hardcore RPG gamer, I love the fact that it stays true to a much improved turn based gameplay, each one of them is distinct in it's own way just makes the game even better. The characters provided were a cast of memorable characters starting from the naive Rikku to the should be less serious Yuna, each one them have a heart and soul, which to me is a prime sign that RPG should be taken seriously. At the time the graphics were too good to be true and the music is just... well, I have mixed feeling about the music. I just want to say that this is one the best RPG to date.

Final Fantasy XII9

It's a bit late to write a review for this game for I'll just hop in the wagon anyway. It's simple, it's like Final Fantasy XIII, the breaks boundaries when it comes to graphics and gameplay, but snoozes on plot and characters. The score for Final Fantasy XII is easily one of the weakest in the series, but to me gamplay is the heart of all games, and Final Fantasy shines by giving us a similar to MMOPRG style gameplay. I just want to say that I give props to whatever game that's willing to take risk so Square Enix, good for you.

Halo: Reach7
Sep 28, 2010
Probably the only reason why I gave a lower than expected score is because the whole gameplay experience is dull... well, it's still the same thing with no improvements and the vehicle controls are still god-awful. The plot.. it's Halo, the plot is not the driving force and it never will be but Reach manage to make me feel for most of the characters so... Kudos. Graphics is nice, music is forgettable (as always) and there's always certain minor flaws waiting to jump on you when you're enjoying yourself too much on this game. In conclusion, it's doesn't **** since they basically mirror almost everything from the previous game-engine but sadly it carries the flaws too.

I'll just put this is as simple as possible, if you played the PS2 version and the first in the portable series and you didn't like it... don't even bother. At first the series felt refreshing but when they just starts to get lazy and using the same gameplay engine over and over again I just want to say either polish it or just stop it, the plot is... it's from Sega, they haven't been capable of producing anything nice in a really long time and I don't expect it too anytime soon. For fans that like it go ahead for those who's new and willing to try, I suggest something else.

Ys Seven6
Sep 11, 2010
Problem with X-Seed games is that they're lacking in the imaginative part, especially the RPG series. Ys 7 on the PSP is a prime example, the plot is yet another typical type and surprisingly short, the characters are as memorable as the monsters I killed (I feel nothing for them) and the soundtrack is just... solid at best. The standout feature is obviously the hack and slash gameplay, the simplicity and variety of skills provided does make an entertaining way to pass time but the lack of depth still made playing the game a chore sometimes.

P3P managed to fix the flaw from P3 and FES, but in order to maintain a quality gameplay they sacrifice they cutscenes, not that it was great graphics to begin with but it just makes me felt like they come short a little. The freedom to play as a girl (slight different in plot but huge different in social links) is a plus and they got rid of the annoying status indicator. Put it shortly, it's a must for those who love P3 and those who're willing to give this series a try... just be more accepting that there's no more free roaming and cut scenes.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep8

For a PSP title, this a great effort Square Enix, with a much improved game-play and an awesome soundtrack this game seemed poised as the best game ever for the PSP... wrong, there's a huge flaw. My only problem in this game is that once again the characters lack depth, they have minimal interaction with the world they visit and I feel like the purpose of visiting those Disney world are just tor the sake of fan-service and a hint of nostalgia, I felt bored visiting those world and sometimes tempted to skip those scenes because they're not important at all... thank god for the enchanting soundtrack or I'm pissed to even touched it. There's some minor flaw, like despite the amazing solo action provided there are times where you're given teammates and... they're dumb as **** even worse that Goofy in KH2. Camera angles are still a problem, but the good overshadows most of the flaw. As I mention the this is the best battle system in the series due to the freedom of synthesis commands and slicker graphic, the soundtrack is just a reminder of my fuzzy Disney inner child which is great and mutliplayer is just a stroke of genius. This is a great game, but I wished that they take more consideration to being more hands on with plot and less focus on styling the gameplay.

Final Fantasy XIII9

Fans will continue to debate but I think the 13th installment of Final Fantasy is a delightful experience. As long as Square Enix are willing to try something new, I will give them a fair chance. Sure, the linear gameplay, uninspiring plot and the lack of interaction between the characters and the environment doesn't provide a fulfilling gaming experience, one cannot deny that it's easily the best gameplay in the series. The breathtaking graphics that vows me make forget the lack depth design interaction wise and some characters are memorable (sort of), the score provided is also an improvement from the previous installment. In some ways this game can easily be criticized for not following its roots, but as long as try and make it a fresh experience, it's a risk worth taking, hopefully they can improve themselves after this.
