I would say this is the best movie of the year so far. Edgar Wright is known for his over the top comedies (which I love also) so it's nice to see him try to jump into a lighthearted action movie. As usual, the cinematography is bloody glorious. Edgar Wright has established himself as not only amazing at visual comedy, but now more interesting visual story telling.
If it were not for the ending it might have been the best Edgar Wright movie, however, it forces an overly happy ending. There was a point about 20 minutes before the real ending that would have made a far more engaging, bittersweet ending. I feel like the writers were so transfixed on making the happiest possible ending that they completely forgot about the pacing and tone.
Never the less it is an amazing movie that can be summed up in short as a feature length COD gun sync

Instead of rehashing what has already been said, I'm just going to recommend another horror movie. It's completely different but a good horror movie is hard to come by now. I would highly recommend "It follows"

Spider-Man 29

Spider-man 2 has the perfect blend of character building and action in a comic book movie. It perfectly blends the believable struggle Peter has between his normal life and his superhero life. The themes fit so well that it can feel like you're watching a real, personal struggle.

Transformers: The Last Knight2
Jul 6, 2017
This film starts with a flashback scene that wasn't even somewhat needed. Normally a film would follow the tried and true 3 act structure, but Transformers 5 is different. It goes introduction, build-up, climax, build-up and then finally climax again. Another issue is the overlapping stories, at the start, it feels like there are 3 stories, a few minutes in they cross, then they split again but into 2 stories. They cross again at the end but it was so sloppily done that for a while I'd forgot I even had the criticism. This has to be one of the poorest, messiest laziest films I've ever seen.
