Runbow is a fun little game is the perfect game for the Nintendo Switch. The great concept of the game design cannot be faulted. It's unique and stands out. The style of gameplay and the idea behind is great also. The soundtracks suit the game down to a tee and amass a good variety of modes with the game. Definitely one for when your mates are around to kill some time when you're waiting on the delivery of your takeaway.

Not many vampire games are out there but deserve to be. A modern day game in an RPG setting with vampires is what everyone has been crying out for since the PS2 era of vampire games. Now we have it in Vampyr. The graphics are great and the way it sets the atmosphere of a smokey, industrial revolution type doom and gloom around you feels great and definitely helps set the tone **** like this. The skill tree is great and adds for a variety of which direction to go when upgrading yourself as a vampire. The combat and fighting style is perfect for this and the story is great also. What more could you ask for?

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
7
User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jul 16, 2018
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is actually a spin-off and not an installment in the main series. This gave me a little bit of leeway when saying it's definitely not on par with the main series but is fun. The story is rather poor and short. Trying to explain how the characters from other games appear in this, while a good idea, they just don't execute it well. The AAA price tag for such a game is not worth, from a long shot. With that said the additional characters are great and add that extra playability, mixing it up a bit. The level designs are great and have a retro Street Fighter look about them. Lastly, the main part of the game, the tag-team battle system is great and works so well this type of fighting game.

Bomb Chicken
8
User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jul 16, 2018
Bomb Chicken is a fun and simple game. The controls are as simple as can be, that's what you want from a retro indie game. Nothing with a whole load of features but is challenged by the area around you. The quality is great, giving of the retro nostalgia look that everyone is currently on at the moment. The game gets more challenging and doesn't keep the simple straight-forward platform about it. Doing this gives you that great sense of achievement. There isn't any real value to go back through the game however and is a one-time thing. While the challenges can get tough the game is still rather short. A fun little game that can kill some time.

User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jun 29, 2018
The game isn't terrible but by no means original. It is pretty much a carbon copy of an original Final Fantasy game. The save point throughout is terrible. It doesn't save off the bat and uses an old feature of saved checkpoints. It does contain some beautiful scenes with the art style it pulls off. The combat is great. A nice little story also. It does give you that original retro feel of a jRPG but still comes back to being nothing original or new.

Lust for Darkness

User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jun 29, 2018
Very poorly executed story. Stories, where you're the partner on the rescue for your other half, have been used many of times in stories good and bad. Take Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The same premise pulls it off perfectly. This, on the other hand, does not work well. You have point A and point B. It missed a lot of opportunities in gameplay. There is some premise of gameplay where you sneak around and not get caught so you don't die. Only happens 3 times. That is it. Very short as well. While the graphics are superb and there are some puzzles it just didn't execute very well. Plenty of missed opportunities guys!

Moss

User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jun 29, 2018
Moss is short, no doubt about it but definitely lives up to being a great adventure game. Moss has a great story with fun little combat scenarios and little puzzles that really get you thinking along the way. The great thing about Moss being a platformer in the third person, you can sit down and use a controller. Reducing/removing any motion sickness and utilizes the controller properly. Moss break the fourth wall and uses this to its advantage. It also makes use of the camera by making you be 'it'. Great, fun adventure and gives hope to VR.

Illusion: A Tale of the Mind
5
User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jun 21, 2018
From setting the bar high with their previous game, Frima Studios made it tough on themselves. The game was difficult to keep a steady rhythm. It took **** for the full platformer feel to begin while the first half was pretty much puzzles. The story was mediocre. Once you had done a few puzzles the game felt quite repetitive. Leading up to the final boss and including the boss was poor as well. It did have one good point. The art style is gorgeous.

ONRUSH

User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jun 14, 2018
Onrush is an absolute ride and a half. Not your typical racer, many game modes change it up. Very much like Burnout but without the race. Your race is like an online FPS. You have different game modes, achieve the most points, king of the hill type mode and others there is a lot of choices. Talking about choice, you get a lot of customization in this so no car is the same. While the graphics aren't the greatest it's a whole heck of fun.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn

User ScoreTheProGamer-
Jun 13, 2018
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn forces old, outdated jokes that you just can't laugh at no matter how hard you try. The controls are clunky, the terrible hitboxes annoyed the heck out of me. You can knock the game out in no time. A good few hour session would manage it however it just felt like a chore to finish. I would avoid this, even with the low price tag.

Destiny 2: Warmind
6
User ScoreTheProGamer-
May 13, 2018
With the time Bungie has had since the release of Destiny 2 you would think they would have taken on board fans feedback and bettered the game just like the original Destiny. With Warmind it's essentially the same game as previous with very little story added in. The campaign is extremely short. The story is barely there. Bungie missed a real opportunity to build on the lore of Rasputin but it felt like they withdrew a lot of details. It just felt extremely repetitive again, it didn't feel like they added new content. Let's not end it on a low note. There is a new raid coming and just a filler like Expansion 1 so fresh new content there with some puzzles thrown in. Great new tweaks to exotics making it feel like they're 'exotic'. Has a great 80s-esque soundtrack and new strikes and difficulty raised on them. It just stings that Bungie had a massive opportunity here and just failed to pull it off.

Murderous Pursuits

User ScoreTheProGamer-
May 10, 2018
Take the premise of Assassin's Creed multiplayer and that is pretty much this game. The art style is great along with the pleasant vinyl soundtrack gives it that old Victorian Britain style. It has a steampunk feel to the game. Albeit the graphics aren't all that great. The game, after about an hour, gets very repetitive and find yourself asking why are you still playing with very little to gain from the game. For what the game is all about, and it's a simple idea, it's very pricey. The matchmaking is very poor and sometimes just can't enter a match. It is good if you find yourself without a game and want to kill an hour or so. The idea is good but could have had a lot more added to the game.

User ScoreTheProGamer-

After we managed to platinum the game it's fair to say we can be as honest as we can when it comes to the game. The Story is superb and unique to the God of War series. The character development between father and son with the characters you meet on your journey is excellent. The graphics are superb even if not on a PS4 Pro. In 4K, however, you see the beauty of your surroundings that little bit better. The gameplay is new and fresh to the genre change and reinvents the triangle button. The endgame content is there to give you that value for money unlike the previous God of War games. Overall a genuine masterpiece.

Battlezone: Gold Edition
7
User ScoreTheProGamer-
May 4, 2018
The game does look great, it has that classic/retro look with a modern twist. It has some customization level to the game to allow you to stand out on online play. It does have that original arcade feel to it which is what you want. It does work well in PSVR but there were some slight frame drops and sometimes frozen frames for a second. The only let down for me is there isn't a lot of single-player content to want you going back for more.

Apr 30, 2018
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood has been out some time and this review is based on the Switch physical release. The game has lived up even after 5 years however the graphics in the cutscenes are a little outdated. An exclusive feature does come to the switch where you can use the touchscreen mixing the game up a bit and not just a direct port. The game can be a bit stressful but not terribly bad and does make me want to keep going and not put down the controller. The story is a little bit basic and can be a bit short.

Light Fall has a unique idea and can be pulled off quite nicely on some levels. The puzzler can be great fun at times but the further you get into it, the further it becomes more stressful and not in a good way. It's different puzzles with the same execution every time. It begins to feel like a chore. The game is beautiful and all the shades of blue and purple do make the game look magical and the story is rather nice.

The game isn't something new in design but the idea is unique. It puts the player in a position, hoping for them to understand mental health issues. It does seem quite inconsistent in design, however, sometimes the game is a little bit bland but sometimes it can be pretty. The pace of the story could have been picked up a bit also which kind of sets an unnecessarily slow pace. The game isn't bad the but idea and cause behind it is great.

I never played the classic however that doesn't matter with this version. You can actually flick between both live as you're playing! The game felt great and you can see how much effort went into it. The attention to detail is great and the way everything is hand drawn gives it that modern yet retro feel. The way previous side-scrolling classics had gone through. The story is quite simple and doesn't really hold up to many modern day games but other than that this game has everything a side-scrolling classic remake should have with genius ideas including. Definitely sets the bar high and other re-maker's of classic platformer's should take note!

Ys Origins was a welcome return to the series. There have been a few bad games in there till late with Ys VIII and now we have Ys Origin on the Xbox One. While it isn't the best-ported game with a few glitches here and there we do have some other to make up for it. The story is superb, the soundtrack is just beautiful and very fitting for a game like this. The cutscenes are beautiful. The characters are all great and have a nice gameplay feel to them. Overall, a superb return to the series only let down by its port.

Ash of Gods I thought would be just another turn-based game with some old cartoon graphics to twist you into feeling nostalgic so you give it a good review. I was surprised when it didn't do that yet I favoured this game above a lot of others. While the old style graphics are gorgeous you had a very fitting soundtrack to go alongside it. It has a great story to go along with it yet simple mechanics that aren't over the top. Overall great game.
