Superb - but not if you're lazy. Exploration/crafting/combat/resource management - it's got it all. But you and your merry band of misfits are going to have to work to get anywhere. Want to mine ore, craft a shield, play a tune with your bard? You can, but you'll have to play to do so. As in, a mini game. Which is fantastic - you feel a real sense of accomplishment when you nail the blacksmith game and craft the perfect item. Love this game. Tactical combat is great, each class has a place. You can even capture enemys. Boars you can then fatten up for food, bandits you can sell to the jail. It has depth and charm galore. Just play it.

Why are games made on some sort of balance beam? Like, if you increase story then something else has to drop? Mercs had better looking Mechs (Clans look like Ed209 **** box things, and omg the "paint" jobs look like a cat knocked over your paint pots). I thought graphics would improve, not take a 5-10 year backstep. I've seen airport control people who are twins with Clan officers on board their flagship (just goddamn Lazy, Lazy lazy lazy!). There's less of everything. It's dumbed down. It feels cheap. I like the story (I've read all 100+ books) but I swear down, there needs to be a Free add-on with more content and some good bloody designed Mechs, not these plastic looking abominations. I'll complete it because I love the entire franchise, but suspect I will then return to Mercs because as much As I like the story in Clans, it's sacrificed too much to do it and there's little Replayability here. Is it really so much to ask that you get decent gameplay, good looking Mechs (with descriptions and a little history) aka Mercs, but with a story? If I have to buy 5 DLCs to get there I'll be pissed.

Damn but I was hoping this would be a decent remake of the original Chaos Gate. It isn't. I was prepared to get over the feeling that this was originally a mobile game that got enough funding for the dev to move to PC / Console..... But then discovered that you'll never have more than 4 in a squad, and suddenly it wasn't worth ignoring all the basic tackiness. The "action cinematics" of which there's about 2. The voices of which there's about 3. No real inventory... Ugh it's making me sad. It's basically a mobile game that pretends to be a real game and conned me out of £30. F'ing disgrace.

10/10 to balance out the BS 1/10's. Probablyloser closer to an 8 or 9. I say this because I've not had a crash, or encountered a bug, and the load times on my PS5 have been fine, so don't get where all that nonsense comes from. Maybe clean your consoles lol. Lore, art, weapons, psyker magic, uniforms ****. is so true to 40k any 40k fan should play this. TB strategy fans should play it. D&D or Owlcat fans should play it. It's great. Inventory, and skills or builds take a bit of getting used to but nothing major. This is a superb game. The physical whumpf of the bolter, the flying body parts, the twist, all of it is crafted with care. Glory to the Emperor and Owlcat.
