I went into this game with very little expectation, largely due to Ubisoft’s recent antics, which have contributed to its plummeting reputation. However, this game simply blew me away… I can’t remember the last time I yearned to return to a game, yet also wished for some restraint because I want to savour every moment of this masterpiece. The music, character design, gameplay, and fantastical level design—complemented by its beautiful art style—come together perfectly. It is simply chef’s kiss. However, the more I enjoy this game, the more I mourn the developers who never got the chance to expand the world they created. And the more my feelings of contempt for Ubisoft grow. A heartfelt thank you to the developers who gave us a glimpse of the potential an Ubisoft title can rise to in the modern era, and shame on the executives who thought they knew better.
