Good story but poor, emotionless writing. Good music, good art direction, good gameplay. Really enjoyable game but not the masterpiece advertised.

Best game i have played and i have played a ton. Yes it is flawed, the gameplay is not as good as the first game (environement is mostly flat) but the story is extremely deep with many layers. That game broke me so if you are into smart writing, play this game.

Honestly i have been really disappointed about this one. Considered a masterpiece by most RPG players, i'm sorry but i have not seen where it is shining... The gameplay is average with too much jobs/abilities management. The game design is bad, the AI is cheating using knowledges it doesn't have access to (your equipment), the jobs/abilities system is extremely tedious and boring, many difficulty spikes during the game, from start to finish. There are only 2 solutions to go through the game : being overleveled or using broken characters/jobs. Anyway every battle are the same - push the unit for damages, there is no strategy involved at all. The story is good during the first half (GOT-like scheme into scheme story) however the second half is rushed to end up being a standard J-RPG ending... I have finished the game around the 50h mark, the 10/15 last hours were extremely boring for me but i have forced myself.

First of all, i will say that i'm astonishedby the positive reviews this game has gottent throughout the years... Objectively this game is not good at all and far from being the masterpiece the scores it has got imply... Graphics, music and the universe/lore are all good, nothing to complain about here even though most of the lore elements are learnt through reading... which is boring, nothing is implicit, everything needs to be read... Story is original but falls short by the end of the **** ending is barely average and it feels rush. Special praise to the boring "read again for 10 minutes" ending to explain everything about the game as developpers are completely unable to make the player understand anything without explicit words... The gameplay is a chore... honestly i have played this game for 70h and the last 50h were boring. I have forced myself to finish the game but honestly there have been many moments when i wanted to stop and uninstall. The combat are a mess, there are too many of them, the fight system is garbage and the difficulty is way too uneven to be enjoyable. Well all in all, it is a barely average game where even the story is not good enough to save it from being forgotten.

Let's be honest, this is not the best indie game of the year but it is still worth playing. The game is all about showing a story instead of telling it. Many ideas are "hidden" behind the events of the game such as the human's cruelty, pollution, decay of our societies and such. Gameplay wise, it is good enough to take you through the full adventure. Easy for adult players, easy enough for children. Many cute moments and a well written ending. Give it a try and support this small studio.

I have deeply loved the first Life is Strange but BTS is a really average game. The story is not well written, pacing is bad, gameplay parts are really badly designed... and most of the time it is boring and rarely emotional. It is unfortunate as it could have been a way better game. However, as a prologue to LiS, it is a 8 as it shines in the Chloé + Max microcosm and adds a tons of emotions to he first LiS. As a standalone it is a 5 though.

I'm rarely leaving review on metacritic but i felt i had to after finishing the last season. It was such an emotional adventure i will just advise you to play the complete Serie. I have played and finished a ton of games, mostly RPG and adventure games and i have never had so much emotion anywhere else. There are some part i could not hold my tears. Here is the score i would give to all seasons : - Season 1 = 9/10 - Season 2 = 8/10 - Season 3 = 7/10 - Season 4 = 9/10 Michonne and 400 days are side stories worth playing as well but not as good as the rest.

For the players loving 4X games, buy it, you won't regret it. Old World does so many things better than Civ 5 (have not played 6) : - Orders system that is incredible, adding so much depth and strategy - Unit lvl up is better (war is not required, training is) - Workers build buildings - Cities produce citizens and workers (farmers, workers, miner...) - AI is on par with the Vox Populi Civ 5 mod, really competent at playing the game - Characters are important and relationships count, adding some Crusader Kings layer to the game impacting diplomacy - 3500 RNG events adding so much flavor and role play to the genre The game is better than Civ 5 Vox Populi in what it does : offering a great 4x during the antiquity period and adding relationships/characters/events flavors with a great vanilla AI. Civ 5 VP is still a strong 4x if you like, as myself, go from the antiquity to the modern era but if Mohawk Games decides to release another 4x with all eras, that game would be the best 4x existing, plain and simple.

As always, came here to restore the truth about the game. The score it got on metacritic from professional reviewers and users is way too high, ppl are clearly not obbjectiv about the quality of this game. Graphics : 10/10 For the game age, they are pretty solid. Nothing to complain about. The remaster is also great, i didn't encounter any bug or glitch. Framerates are smooth. Musics : 7/10 Good enough but you won't remember any of them. Fight System : 4/10 Totally bad, it's auto mode 95% of the time. If you don't run away any fights and if you set your gambits properly (the option to make your character behaving depending of what is happening), you won't need to touch your gamepad during fights, even against bosses... You don't need magics, you don't need eons (invocations), you don't need to use objects (most of the time). Well the game doesn't need you at all. There is no strategy involved... well, the worst fight system i saw in a J-RPG... Story : 5/10 Nothing impressive, it is a standard story that we have seen multiple times in video games, movies and books. It's just good enough to make you continue to play the game till the end. Characters : 4/10 Their design is good but there is almost no development for them. Psychologically, there is nothing. Also there is no connexion between them despite they are having an adventure together but still, they rarely talk together and it seems like there is no bond between them. Like a bunch of ppl forced to be together to save the world. Really really bad when you compare them to the previous Final Fantasy games. World : 7/10 Great world BUT places to visit are way too big without any reasons, just to increase the game lengh... Most of the time you will be wandering in the world being a spectator of automated fights. It's a chance that the game has an option to move x2 or x4 faster... I don't know how the players who had played it on PS2 did to accept to loose so much time doing nothing... Well, overall it's an average (+) game and a really bad Final Fantasy... Good enough to go through it but not good enough to come back or to consider it as a classic. If you have other games to play, play them, FFXII is not worth your time.
