I wanted so desperately to like this game, but, once again, it is just too damn hard. Hitting is infuriating because you'll swing and miss 100 times, then finally make contact and it slowly rolls to the shortstop. Pitching is better, but intensely frustrating because you have so little control over where the ball actually ends up. I suppose I'll get better the more I play, but seriously, I love baseball more than anything, and I have no interest in playing this darn game right now.

Literally my favorite game of all time. Plays like an intense interactive movie. Definitely challenging, but not frustratingly so. Story is incredible. Some of the graphics are weak and a few awful voice actors, but it's most beautiful and the voices that matter are fantastic.

I LOVE the "Be a Pro" mode in this game. Focusing on one player allows you to think about positioning and movement, rather than just trying to make the next pass when you're playing as everyone. It is intensely gratifying to score or get a pretty assist, but it's even satisfying to be on the ice for a simple +. Have played hours and plan to play many more. Shot aiming still doesn't jive with me. Maybe it's just the way my thumbs work, but using the same stick that controls skating to aim my shot-- I just end up shooting in the same direction I'm travelling. I turn on auto-aim, but it feels like cheating. I wish there was some third option... Fun.

This review may be controversial and I will fully respect dissenting opinions, but I felt like this game was TOO realistic a basketball simulation for my taste. The NBA, much to my shagrin, has turned into a jump-shot fiesta and NBA 2K11 followed suit. The big men in the game have been completely nerfed and there's no sense in trying to penetrate the paint at all. The only games I won were the games in which I could develop a good passing rhythm that ultimately left a 2-guard in the corner for three. While this is disappointingly similar to real life, I never felt like I was enjoying the game, even in victory. Put in several hours, ready to sell it back.

This was my first soccer game in many **** I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Assuming you are humble enough to play at the right difficulty, the game leaves enough up to your control that you feel in charge, but doesn't make you micro-manage every movement on the field (until higher difficulties when you're actually ready to do so). The game is beautiful, smart, and downright fun. I can't speak to how well it compares to previous iterations, but that's a stupid way to critique anyway. Sports fans should enjoy this game.

On PC Battlefield 3 is incredible. On the PS3, though, it feels clunky. They tried so hard to NOT be CoD that they avoided using some of the things that CoD mastered in multiplayer gameplay. I will keep playing it, but only when I need a break from MW3.

It seems silly to me that people would bash this game based solely on its similarity to its predecessors. The reason you were so excited for this game was the fact that the previous iterations were so good! The creators have found a recipe that works, and rather than tearing it down or making large adjustments, they have added to its successful already model. It is similar to the first two titles because they would be foolish to ruin a good thing by trying to reinvent the wheel (see: Madden). The natural instinct is to compare this game to Battlefield 3 (due to similarity in game and release time) and I will be one to do so positively. My roommate plays Bf3 on the PC, and, it's true, it is an incredibly polished gem. On the PS3, though, it is slow (30fps), occasionally grainy, and the Frostbite 2 does not seem nearly as smart. MW3, on the other hand, is in its wheelhouse on PS3 with quick refresh, better blended high and lowlights, and better perspective in terms of scope. I own both and will play both, but MW3 will get the nod from me. I'm reading a lot of reviews that fall prey to failed expectations, not failure to deliver a great game. Rather than whining about it, stop back over by your local GameStop and trade it in for Heavy Rain or Arkham City. You'll end up happier and I won't have to listen to your ill-conceived disappointment on PSN.

Incredible game. Story seemed a bit weak early on, but it seems that was only the case because it wasn't clear what was actually happening. I thought it concluded brilliantly. Gameplay was fun as always; I particularly loved flying around the open city. My only gripe was how frustrating it was to systematically destroy a predator scenario, then feel like an idiot for not being able to find my way out of the room! A little better direction would have been appreciated, but maybe that's just me. Outstanding. Will play through again.
