I like logistics games and wanted to like this game. I put about 20 hours into it so far. There does not appear to be any competitive pressure in the game. Its a big world but the only decision you have is what area has the majority of the resources you need. I can tinker with my belt lines, reduce the amount of work I need to do by hand -- all reasonably well done. I just dont see a reason to load it up again. There is nothing compelling to take you out of your base building tinker mode. I dont regret the 20 hours and I probably just barely got my money's worth, but its nowhere near the class of games that I would go back to over and over again.

I purchased this game three weeks ago and have logged 60h into it so far. While I think a lot of the '2's that this game received in the past may have been true at the time, I see a vibrant DLC community and I dont see the bugs that are discussed here, aside from my game not closing elegantly. The graphics are good enough - they arent beautiful but as a former game designer and scripter for the SSI Darksun series and tester on the gold box series I understand the tradeoff between breadth and depth in art production investment. Whats most important -- the things I would have my character do and by and large supported. The conversations and situations are nuanced and not at all childish / black&white, the characters display in conversation that actual amount of depth that is supported. What I admire is the care the developers have in not overwriting what is in fact not supported. I love the town building, character development, the difference int he value of loot to different people. I love the combat. Its all good.

I put down this game a year ago after maybe 30 hours of play and have picked it up again and begun playing it again. Long space trips sometimes don't have a lot to do and the graphics aren't flashy, but I like how the characters interact with each other and ultimately its fun for a light-hearted trading game.
