Worth the admission for the soundtrack. Metal heaven. Artwork and style very reminiscent of shotline miami. This indie dev ain't messing about. Hardcore, visceral, heavy, this is not a casual game. Internet media will not touch it. This game brought a knife to woke, slashed it up and put a boot in its face.

Absolute class. Having been my favourite genre for 50 years, what a lot of people do not understand with shmups is its not just the difficulty level that is prohibitive on starting. It takes genius to make a shmup, inject that dopamine, make you feel hot and clammy ar he'd over a hot crt arcade machine, that you blink and your dead. The careful balanc8ng act that its not unfair. Tough but fair. These are the hallmarks of a classic shmup. This is the best made shmup in years amd years. I have pretty much all the new one fr9m ps5/ps5/pc andsome utterly legend shmups have re released such as darius, gradius, Salamander. This game is up their as equal a modern day shmup as jets n guns. It's that good. Well done making this game lads, very well done. And the music, especially level 8. Bang on. I had 'apidya' vibes.

Great action roguelike, far too much story. If you like hades and hades 2 it's like that. The couch co op thing works well too. Haven't tried online with randoms. Music is...tmnt so its standard, underwhelming. It's well made, a bit short if your used to hardcore rogue games as you will melt the game. This is the perfect title for younger age that's never tried roguelike. Fantastic price. Well worth the grab imo.

Just completed the game. One of the best indies I have ever played, absolutely a masterpiece, right up there with binding of isaac, meatboy, gungeon, n++. There is a few good copycat games like armies of ruin, but not even that has such an indie feel. The way all the unlocks work, and all the crazy secret stuff, just perfect. More please...

Faultless mechanics, genius level design, hard but fair difficulty, great story, silky smooth gameplay, and a musical score that is absolutely stellar. The only fault I can find is it's too short and was just begging for more in the end. This is without doubt one of the indie gems and will go down as a classic along with n++, meatboy, isaac, shovel knight and gungeon.

Absolutely outstanding. During a western crash in gaming and bad games getting all the headlines, this could be considered almost a shadowdrop. What a shame many will never even hear of this incredible game. This is untarnished from western activism and propaganda. Its story is pure, dark, intelligent and heartwarming, its mechanics deeply rooted in shin megami tensai and persona. It is a true jrpg in the purest sense, and should rightly be considered a game of year if game of the year was more than just a euro vision song contest style politically driven joke that the publics vote does not even count in any meaningful way. This is proper gaming. Grab it, play it, love it, spread the word, and may gaming carry on through its dark ages to a new golden age again.

The atmospheric dark ambience is by far the best part for me. Really good use of sound. The enemy are fine, but having to smack and shoot and boot them 10 times is way too much to drop them. The dodge mechanic with the over the shoulder camera is stupidly janky. The layout is confusing, and leads to much going in the same rooms over and over completely stuck on where the next item is that you need to progress. On ps5 it runs like a bag of spanners, and there is no reason for it to be slow. 99% of games i always put into performance mode, but this actually runs worse with noticeable frame stutter everywhere. There is pop in all over the shop. But..underneath it is a seriously good scare game, and it feels like the original. It can still get under your skinin places. As for the woke, i havent seen any at all so far. So it gets a couple of marks up just for that. If the patch out the jank and give a mode to play it in the original camera mode, its a great remake all things considered.

Solid 8 for me. Pros are: combat that is doing things a bit different to separate from other games. Music is fantastic but a bit samey. Plot is fine but not groundbreaking. Graphics are fine but performance mode is key to an action rpg. Levelling and skill trees are a little lacking but the ability to learn all the moves in a training mode is great, think bayonetta style. It gives off nier vibes, but isnt nier at all. Its a a great all round start. As for the politics, wokefolk hate it, and then journalists get it censored. Its a pegi 18, you can watch and play a lot worse than scantily clad. I see those costumes up town every friday and saturday night in pubs and nightclubs, so its stupid and wrong to censor, we are adults.

Absolutely stunning remaster, especially in hfr and vrr on an oled. Easily one of the best looking games running with minimal frame blur in 30fps and near perfect performance mode. I loved the first one, but the gameplay needed work. Pt2 adressed this for me. The sum of all game mechanics are smoother and implemented immaculately. The semi open world in the middle section can still feel a bit grindy, but overall this remaster absolutely shines. It even has new game modes. There is a seriously salty section of the fanbase that seem to think the writing in the game should be made to their specification, as if they own the story. A bit like the film 'misery' comes to mind where the writer is kidnapped to rewrite the entire book. Its self centered and way past acceptable. Review bombing because the story is not what you wanted is childish and very entitled. I can't bomb a game that, in its delivery is one of the best ps5 games now. I have pt2 on ps4, this is the ultimate version of the pt2.

Absolute masterpiece. Fr9m the music to the flowing game mechanics. Utterly nails the cyberpunk genre. The art style handles 80's neon perfectly and sits well in a post bladerunner world. It even questions Sci fi in the right way in a world where biological and mechanical is a given and brings its own ethics, morality and questions. An absolute joy from start to finish. Absolutely robbed. This game was said to be 60fps on ps5. And it was in beta. So I pre ordered. Downloaded, booted up, and devs have taken out 60 and made it 30 without any option to change back to 60. It's stupidly noticeable too. Gamepad lag is terrible, framerate is not smooth, the graphics updare hardly made a difference. Camera is choppy, aiming is horrible. I can't believe they swapped out 60 for 30fps. What were they thinking. Its now terrible. Cannot recommend at all.

Honestly in sitting here not wanting to write this. I have loved every release since daggerfall. This is Bethesda worst game. The issues are inherent to the engine. Its just not capable of producing current generation games. It all stems from this. The community tried to tell Bethesda in 2015 with fallout 4. We tried desperately to let them know in 2018 and fallout 76. It's now 2023, and they are still on this engine. What doesn't help is that they lean heavy on the mod community to save it, saves them having to do it. But even then, the game will always have these loading screens and issues, just different graphics but same quality of graphics, same terrible talk animations, same bad ai. They made us pay £80 ($100) for early access and I honestly we have been seen off. It's not the worst game but it is guilty of the worst game offence an expensive title can **** boring, average, tries to be too many things and fails at them all. Each planet does not feel like anything more than a 'level' loaded in. There is no sense of immersion. However, if all you care about in games is the story rather than a story and excellent gameplay, then you might hold it in more prestige. Oh and pronouns are a thing and personally I hate all that woke rubbish. It's just a middling, average, none exciting, yawn **** with no immersion, terrible ai in the 3rd person shooting bits. Its more a shooter than rpg, but nearly every jrpg has better combat. Its a looters game in which your just picking up weapon after weapon. Oh, and the game is not being review bombed. Many of the critique posts are 5 or 6's, these are genuine. Review bombs is straight up zero's. Do yourself a favour and get to a mates house to see gameplay before purchase. You may love it. But don't shell out all that money until your sure.

Well, unreal 5 is here and on ps5 it's a joke. Character models are ps3 at best. World graphics using nanite tech ? It runs balanced mode at 60fps, just, clearly below in many places. Graphic performance 30 locked? Nope, stutters everywhere nad lag is an issue. Unlocked fps is all over the place. And world graphics are destiny 2018 at best. I can't see any nanite going on, rusted cars and buses remind me of half life 2, textures are poor, and most graphics rely on filters for detail. This is low resolution mode. This is a far cry from the demo's we seen apparently 'running on ps5'. You know the one where the girl runs through a cave and unreal 5 was meant to give us 100s of super textured, detailed statues in real time lighting ? This is one of the worst looking games this year. The game is mechanically solid, but gameplay gets boring real soon. Typical repetitive play. Its post apocalyptic, as per the course for all modern games, and there is nothing new. Like most games this year, it's basically...boring. Also, this game is full of woke nonsense, as per the normal for media these days. Stop peddling the rubbish and get on with making a game. If this is unreal 5, please can we go back to unreal 4?

Overhyped, linear, ps4 graphics on ps5, more movie than game, gameplay mechanics are exactly the same as the first. The devs were so scared of failure, they copied the formulae of the original to the point that its essentially the same game with different bosses. I mean exactly. Same house in the snow, instead of taking down a deer with loki you have to do the same trek but just for another reason (spoiler free). Then you fight balder in the first, it's the same again with different boss (spoiler free). Then off you go on a linear adventure until it opens up into a semi open world. There is nothing different, the fighting gets boring, the difficulty even on hard is too easy. It's mediocre at best. If you prefer movie over game, you will enjoy. Me personally I prefer a game to a movie. Casual game with good cut scenes that's been overhyped to death.

I love ajrpg, but never could. This, this is right up there with YsViii. Slow starter, trickles a decent rpg system. Combat is smooth, intricate and a decent challenge at higher levels. Music is fully orchestrated, all main characters have a decent backstory, full if twists. The graphics although still behind triple A are the next level for JRPG. Pop in let's it down a bit but doesn't detract. The game takes to the first boss to get truly hooked, but it has that special **** ability to hook you in. Its one you keep playing til end game at least. Worth every penny on ps5 and definitely best of the bunch of elysium and scarlet nexus.

It's absolutely right up there with binding of isaac and enter the gungeon. Got a couple of bugs that need ironing, but I switched this on to 'have a look' and since then spent 32 hours of the 48 hour weekend absolutely addicted to it. The genius is the messages that 'everything is going wrong' with your 'flock' whilst out in the woods trying to destroy an epic boss. It adds a real frantic dynamic and pressure to get the area smashed so you can get back and sort out your cult before everyone is dead. Both mechanics of fighting and crafting rarely work in these games, but this does is excellently. It's so addictive. You cannot put it down. Just do yourself a favour, don't play on easy as it's not a balanced tight rope act if you do. You will walk away wondering what all the fuss is about and ruin it for yourself. That's the only issue for me, the devs should have got rid of easy mode. Medium is perfect for most to get the satisfaction of hard work paying off. Hard and hardest modes are tough but fair. They run the risk of it not hitting home on easy, and I'm assuming the lower critic scores were from reviewers playing out on easy as they have a hundred other games to review. Shame, because this is a total classic like isaac, meatboy, gungeon, n++ etc. before it.

The game has been out for 4 years and curve keep porting it to every platform. Clearly as a cash grab because they are never going to fix it. Shame because underneath it is a stellar game. Imo they have damaged their reputation for high quality indie. T4000 evolves T2000 in every way, far more accessible, more stripped back and feels more like a shmup in terms of speed and frenetic gameplay, but with the intsant tactics need to stay alive still in check. It has a sharper response ship movement and enemies are flippin quick up the tubes now. Its more brutal gameplay than ever and the interconnecting bonus sections **** you in to your own head and spit you out ready for the next levels seamlessly. If your an old boy (or girl) like myself, you are going to be absolutely blown away by this absolute masterpiece. Yes the story premise is utterly lifted from bicentennial man, but the likes of Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams would be proud of this game as there is enough spin on the story to make the game its own entity. The music, the gameplay mechanics, the smoothness of the game running on switch, the level design, the genius humour and the delivery from the voice acting.. its pure and utter genius. It made me actually laugh out loud at the writrin and tear in my eye for the human moments. The most under rated of the Zelda games, I remember purchasing this for my wii but never finished it because It was right at the back end of the wii life and I had purchased a ps3 and a then a wii u. Nintendo have absolutely smashed it out of the park again like they did with wind waker hd. You can feel the DNA of the last ocarina style game, the music and jumping is right out of ocarina, with added bells. Feels like the more adult link from Twilight with an art style between windwaker and ocarina. But the way nintendo has had the gfx touched up is sublime. I loved BOTW (500 hours in, total completion) and I'm also pretty old, so when the first zelda came out on NES in '86 (I was 13) it blew my mind. This variation of links travels was unloved and wrong so. Its a classic. The dna of the wii is here with the motion controls, and I hope that we see more games from wii come over, becuase the motion controls actually really work well on the joycons. The nostalgia trip is jedi levels of fun, but the core game is right there, and will smash a smile on your face in that way only nintentdo seem to do. Perfection remaster.

Ok, I thought this was incredibly average on ps4. I was 24 yrs old when i purchased the original fvii on my original playstation. It was jaw droppingly good. So the the remake was always going to be average right ? Especially for my age group right ? The most critical generation of today's games in a world of free to play and pay to win mechanic rubbish. This game on ps5 is the best game on ps5 by a long shot and I own all the ps5 upgraded titles there are. Ratchet is great but its same old ratchet under the hood. This...this is special. Modern and nostalgic in equal doses. Fleshed out characters (largely from the movie a few years back. Just epic. Loved every minute, and not a single bug did I bump into. Absolute must own. Instapurchase.

Monster Hunter Rise

Don't compare to World like most of you tube is! This game is the successor to generations ultimate. the way multiplayer works, single player, food, palico training area, quests, everything is born from the old school monster hunter. there is quality of life enhancements such as no loads between areas and load time are really quick. the armour and weapon systems are pretty much the same too. Essentially, the quality of life and the new mechanics don't break the game. it is easier than previous titles, but only because your already a skilled hunter if returning to the series. I thought it was stupid easy until I seen family that have never touched the series before trying to get to grips with it all, then I realised that I do have over 5000 hours spent on the series since early 2000's. I do miss mechanics from world that I had got used to sure. For instance, I really miss the clutch claw, hanging off its face and punching it directly in the face to turn the hulking beast and smashing a monster into a wall from it is way more satisfying than silk bind control, dropping off a high level directly landing on and mounting the monster is immense fun and missing too. Another infuriating thing is when the creature is battered and needs to run away, you could zip onto it in world and keep it in the area, which now its going to get away even on the back of your trusty Palamute, BUT, that's why all this should not be a comparison to World, its not World. The mechanics feel more of a direct lineage upgrade from generations ultimate rather than from world. World is very western in its story and its characters, and overall look (designed to be so) . Rise goes out of its way to introduce Japanese culture. its built for the handheld market, and that has always been strongest in Japan and Asia. Any monster hunter worth his salt is going to own every console or Pc with a current monster hunter game. world will have a world 2 for pc and console, and rise is the start of Capcom's new handheld MH Branding. So get ready to own 2 consoles or Nintendo and a pc whilst MH Stories is Capcom's mobile phone branding. As a business structure its sound (own three games rather than 1) and this will pave the way for a very bright future for all of us hunters as all games are fully supported. The series is still in the 'growing the fan base and loyalty' stage of development due to the west being late to the MH party. As for possible lack of content, you only have to see how Capcom have handled this in the past with constant updates and new monsters/weapons/armour/areas. your game is going to stay relevant for a very long time. lets hope Capcom don't do an EA or Activision once they have the massive user base, because you can see how that went, all those micro transactions and ripping the customer until the product saturated the market and fell from grace because of greed is to blame for the vacuum of power in the gaming world, and Capcom and Square Enix were just waiting for that moment to launch **** gaming back into the mainstream. MH Rise is worth every penny. Cannot wait for G rank in rise and world 2 on the next gen consoles!

Wonder Boy Returns Remix

Ok, so as a 15 year old down the local arcade, i used to regularly get to world 8 on a single 10 penny piece. You git good or go home with this. So here goes.. the original wonderboy returns completely missed the mark and went for the cute graphics and did not understand this was a hardcore arcade game that , back in the day, had seriously competitive gamers playing this. And it was basically a speed runner with a timer and high score system that used bonus drops in the form of upgrades to the fruit you picked up and collecting a doll on each stage. This remix has that competitive arcade feel and is very close to the original arcade machine now. The original was a steaming turd. Its still not exactly the same as the original, its still way more forgiving..even on one coin mode (10 lives ? Original had 3 with bonus lives at varying high score stages) the doll bonus does not add to the score at the end of each stage, tomtom now has a charged axe attack that can even destroy rocks (really ? No need, its like the devs were scared the new kids cant handle difficulty) and the scoring is completely different. However, each stage is now almost the original levels, down to jumps , platforms, bear dressed natives , the flowers and even secret bonuses are intact (mostly). I know this because i have this games muscle memory jumps still from 30 years ago, and you can get in 'the zone' and into a hypnotic rhythm of jumping and shooting which the game demands to be able to stand chance of completing it, something most gamers will not pick up on. (Or probably dont care as the rpg platformer monsterboy / wonderboy is far more accessible to the new breed of gamer) This was always a game that was aimed at hardcore arcade high score chasers, that loved brutal difficulty, super responsive control mechanics, rapid reaction twitch shooting, and muscle memory rythmic jumping. (Gotta keep that skateboard, its finally even rewarded with extra fruit if you do), which leads me to my main gripe... no live global high scores. Lets face it, this game is for niche lovers of wonderboy, and we all played it for the fierce competitive nature of it. Leaving that huge high score up so others could try and smash it. This version is functional at best, and it even has major spelling mistakes (character select screen is spelt 'charcter select'). This to me shows the utter lack of polish it has. Clearly wonderboy returns was lacking mass sales of the game, so the devs changed it to this to save it. For the most part , it has, its now definately a game i dont regret picking up, i jist wish it was a remaster rather than a remake. Remake means devs feel they can add more 'modern feel, whereas, sticking with why this game was loved (fierce competitive nature and super skillset gaming) would have made it a 'must own'. Rule one, never remake a classic, remaster the classic, make the framerate a rock solid 60fps (background images chugg), and make the controls on arcade remasters super tight and responsive. Its an enjoyable game, but the whole project bent too heavily on cute graphics and lost what made this game great leaving it a missed opportunity. Shame. An honest shame. If you pick it up , stay away from the original WBR, thats a 1 out of 10.

You just cannot release a game in this day and age as broken as this. Its basically theft of peoples hard earned money. To knowingly release a game in this state, a broken, un optimised, bug riddled disaster, and still take peoples money questions the morality of devs and publishers. If this had been EA or Take 2 there would have been riots. Im still waiting on my refund sony! Never again will i pre-order. My bad, i should have known better.

We have a new mashup genre... The Farm-em-up (or 'Fup') Farm simulation meets Muramasa Demon blade, Dust an elysian tail, Odins sphere. These games already had extensive use of Japanese food culture baked into their core gameplay. Sakuna takes this base fundamental, and moves it into full blown food cultivation with the same awesome combat of the latter. It works so well there is going to be an explosion of this type of game now, and its Sakuna's fault. A 10 score should be reserved for those games that create new genres, this is one such game. Outstanding masterpiece that triple A companies will steal as it becomes popular.
