This game is worse than Civ 5 at launch with no mods. It is so ridiculously dumbed down and uninteresting that both the high critic and user score is absolutely baffling. Are so many gamers today that stupid? unbelievable.

UPDATED REVIEW: The black screen crash did not happen after an additional five times loading the game again. Strange, but hopefully it wont happen again. I then could play some more and I feel I should update my review and score: So I tried going down to Downtown Splendid. Here I met some human looters. I must say that human enemies seems impossible. So I had surrounded a "Nervous Looter" with Renee, Sarah(me) and Joel. I attacked him with melee 14 times, hitting him only three times. By then he had shot Joel dead (4 gunshots, whereof 3 hit Joel). Finally I was able to knock him down after 16 attacks total. By then his friends showed up, probably due to the noise from the gunshots. His friends were much much harder, a "Tough Looter" and a "Serious Looter". One equipped with a knife and a pistol, other with a long polearm. I tried to attack them but my attacks all but one missed. Then they just killed Renee and Sarah. This is pretty unsatisfactory. I have followed all the advice from the games tips dialog boxes and then this happen? I thought that being three together in my party would give me some safety. Maybe I should take four with me next time (can't take five since that fifth guy had to stay at home at the base to fix some important stuff (not revealing this because of story)). At this point I have to give the game a 7. The game is simply to hard, to the point of being imbalanced. OLD REVIEW: This is seemingly a very interesting Zombie apocalypse turn based action and strategy game, featuring ressource collection, character management and base building, repairing and crafting. Everything seems pretty detailed. If you ever played State of Decay, which had rather simple base construction and management and also rather basic character management then know that Dead State is highly complicated and detailed in these features and that is a big big plus. Unfortunately the whole experience is hampered by the game not being ready for release. Game breaking bugs like consistenly getting freezes and black screen when you travel to a specific area seems unsolvable because it doesn't help to load the save game again, it keeps happening. Loading from an even earlier save will help for a while until it happens again. This forces you to all too often to rewind your progress to an earlier save which is really REALLY horrible for a game like this. Loosing your progress is the absolute worst a game like this can do to the player. That is why I, sadly, am forced to only give Dead State a 4. If not for the game breaking bugs the game deserves a 8 or 9.

Sid Meier's Civilization V

Civilization V was pure crap when it was released in 2010. And despite all it's expansions and pointless DLC's it is still utter crap. Civ 5 is a dumbed down arcade game. As the game progresses you find that nothing interesting really ever happens. Turn after turn of pointlessly pressing the end turn button. Every design decision seems to come from the developers wish to do stuff differently and cater to the casual masses. The results is the mentioned dumbed downed piece of turd, which is no doubt loved by casual gamers around the globe.

You guys complain about spending 10$ on a goat simulator, when you will happily pay about same for a menu at McDonalds or any other **** fast food chain. This game clearly does not advertise any lies or make promises it cannot hold. It even very clearly mentions a disclaimer which I'll bring here below just for the sake of it. I fail to see how you were not informed before you bought it. So stop whining ;) "Disclaimer: Goat Simulator is a completely stupid game and, to be honest, you should probably spend your money on something else, such as a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe pool your money together with your friends and buy a real goat." OH and while I am at it, the developers also give you a neat description of the games key features. So, if the disclaimer was not enough to get it in your head what this games is about, the key features list really eradicates any doubt: - You can be a goat - Get points for wrecking stuff - brag to your friends that you're the alpha goat - Steam Workshop support - make your own goats, levels, missions, game modes, and more! - MILLIONS OF BUGS! We're only eliminating the crash-bugs, everything else is hilarious and we're keeping it - In-game physics that spazz out all the time - Seriously look at that goat's neck - You can be a goat

Crysis 2 is a dumbed down FPS shooter, as generic as they come. It's called Crysis 2 because they know we liked Crysis 1, but don't let them fool you. Don't waste your valuable cash on this console ported turd.

The Amazing Spider-Man

The Amazing Spider-Man is a sad clone of Grand Theft Auto III, just much more boring, more sluggish and not very pretty. issues with the game: - Boring missions. Almost all missions is go here kill that, go there kill this. When this is not the case it gets even more boring, like missions to swing Spidey through circles in the street or hide on the sides of a slowmoving bus too avoid enemies seeing you while the bus slowly traverse through the city streets. - The cars and people in the city is basically not to be interacted with. It's like GTA just you can't interact with people or cars. Fun. - City feels dead and empty. There is basically nothing to do in the city besides the story missions. Sometimes you'll spot cirminals on the streets, but this is just the same everytime: spot some criminals, kick them to death. There is no interesting missions like a bankrobbery etc. - Some of the missions are so horribly scripted that you'll fail all the time because you do not follow the strict way the developers wanted you to play the game. Fall of the building during the mission fight? Fail the mission. Why? You are Spiderman why can't I just crawl/swing up a gain?! Fail to press the correct QTE button when the game tells you? Fail the game. Much of this scripted crap makes playing the game feels like a chore. Oh and finishing the game feels like a chore, so while there is an end battle (and I think I can say that without spoiling anything), don't expect it to be fun or great.

SimCity

I really tried to like SimCity. I really honestly tried. But it's just not working well. The mountains of problems is huge, even now more than a year after release date. Not calling the game "Sim City 5" but just "SimCity" is very appropriate; because it clearly does not continue the success of it's predecessors. The list of issues is huge: - Cities not buying the required amount of power and water even though there is plenty of water and power to receive from the cities I have setup contracts to buy from. Forces you to utility buildings in your main city wasting valuable space and land value. - Tourists suddenly not coming to your city for no good reason at all, after you've had great success with tourist for a long while and made no changes. Suddenly they just not come anymore destroying your income completely forcing you to re specialize. Which is NOT fun. - Water tables drying out and not refilling unless you friggin build a sewage treatment plant just next to your water pump. What the hell is that about?! Like the only way to get clean water is from a sewage treatment plant... Rivers not having any positive effect on water table at... - Tiny city sizes... - Enormous traffic jams on intercity highways and absolutely no way of improving or building more. Only one road connection to intercity highway causing at times great traffic jams in your city at that road junction. - Street cars getting stuck and not moving. Can be 'fixed' by removing and readding section of road in front of street car depot, or sometimes streetcar depot needs to be removed. Not fun. - Cities got lost due to EA's crappy servers. Many many thousands of players experienced this. - Gifts of goods, like plastic and such, from one city to another cannot even be partially deliver if receiving city does not have storage to receive the whole lot in one go. The deliver truck will be forever stuck in the intercity highway until receiving city builds storage big enough to receive the delivery in one go. Who at Maxis/EA thought that was a good idea?? How hard can it be to implement partial delivery...? - Deliveries of goods to great works get stuck in the intercity highway traffic jam and often the delivery disappears or roam for a very long time. - Cities of Tomorrow DLC prevents you from claiming cities other players with this DLC have constructed and left, forcing you to buy DLC... - While music is not actually bad, it is a pathetic attempt compared to the genius godly sound track of Sim City 4 (search Sim City 4 OST on Youtube if you haven't heard it before). Bu tin that sense SimCity's music does fit the rest of the game. - All buildings, both zonable buildings and utility buildings etc. will demolish when just at single patch of road along it's side is demolished. I don't get why that is necessary and it only serves to needlessly complicate rearranging city structure. For example a road can be just next to a utility building and the module to place does not have any other space to be than on the same space as the road. Demolishing the road and replacing it elsewhere and replacing the utility building makes space to place the module on that exact same side. It's crazy that you can't do this without demolishing the whole main building structure. - Crappy low value with very limited content DLC's that sell for high prices - Great work sometimes not receiving any power (even though your cities clearly has lots of excess power) effectively destroying the whole purpose of great works. I could go on and on and on but whats the point. I don't even want to talk about the (few) positive aspects. F*** you EA, go to hell and leave our games alone

Ugly graphics, even on Ultra. On Extreme(the highest setting) it begins to look somewhat ok(but not very great), but at a heavy cost: even on high end rigs(like mine) you'll get fps as low as 20. It's nearly 2014, there is no excuse for an (supposedly) AAA title to have 2009 graphics. I feel cheated just by looking at the game... Battle camera is a complete joke. There is no click and drag action at all. I said: NO CLICK AND DRAG ACTION!! What were they thinking? The camera movement is just horrible. Since you'll be using the camera all the time during battle, this is a potential game breaker for me. However it should be an easy fix, so why are they not fixing the camera!!? Tech tree. It's awfully uninspired. No really interesting choices here. Every step in the tech tree will mostly bring you benefits like +2 trade income, -2% unit costs etc. Yawn, it seems utterly irrelevant and dumbed down. Icons. Apparantly CA thought it a great idea to have all uni, building, and tech icons look like something a an average 10-old greek child would have drawn thousands of years ago. They are just ugly to look at. I guess they wanted them to have an ancient feel... We dont want that!! We want them to be highly detailed, beautiful and in 3D. Another moronic design decision. This games deserves not 0, it deserves a maximum of 4, so thats what it's gonna get from me.
