It doesnt do anything better than the original. The graphics are overly cartoony and everything has a weird annoying sheen to it. Enemy ai has suffered dramatically and they seemed to try to remedy this by just including more enemies that just sort of stand around and fire at you. The worst part of the game are the bonus prequel missions. The writing is very poor. Who were these for?

With the lack of single player content, frankly small ammount of tracks, and very little kart variety, this game is a massive step back from Sonic Racing Transformed.

Nice to have a remake of an amazing classic, but this is incredibly ugly to look at.

The story and writing are still extremely lacking, but in a different way than 3. Its too safe and the characters and quests arent well fleshed out. There arent enough gun types per manufacturer. Guns are also way too random now. The open world feels like its lacking in proper content and is instead full of incredibly bland fetch quests. Who approved the quests to carry items around the map? Vault Hunters feel a lot less unique now because they all excel in all builds.

Pretty to look at, but really lacking in content. About 30 hours of content has been cut. Too many quality of life "improvements" have been forced without any option to turn them off. Even on hard mode the game is way too easy. Free revives occur after combat. You fully heal after leveling. Save points fully heal you as well. Quest markers point you to every Quest and secret. There is a bigsign on every monster that tells you what attack to use. Pretty dissapointing.
