FFXIV is good, and in shadowbringers you finally get answers and the story just grabs a hold of you, leaving you aching to get to play Endwalker. So worth it, as a story alone one of the best games I've experienced.

Boring story, boring end-game and no major changes or corrections, neither no new innovations. Graphic updates are good. I have quit my subscription. :( I do not recognize this game as I used to do, and the MSQ feels like the world's longest escort quest. Yep, that's how bad it is. FFXIV's strength has always been the story, this time they failed spectacularly. To be more specific, the story and the technical execution (e.g. pacing) are amateur level. The writers forget what they've done 5 minutes ago, and there are too many irregularities and inconsistencies. You are *told* this is how you should feel, but neither the story or actual events happening around you support it, leaving you feel completely detached. Character arcs make sudden jumps, and leave you feeling confused and frustrated, which is compounded with the game then *telling* you to feel a certain way instead, making no sense. The game start extreeeemeeeelyyyy slow, and continues boring and slow for the first half. You hope that the inconsistencies and flaws in the technical aspect of the story will be fixed, justified or improved on the latter half, but they don't. The second half is paced as horribly, and yet feels rushed due to inconsistencies and illogical choices. This is what we waited for 2 years, to be presented with amateur level work. If the game was any other title than FF, I do not think anyone would want to play it. I am horribly disappointed. Worst of all I feel Square Enix failed the players in the most horrible way. Past 2 years of playing Endwalker end-game preparing for Dawntrail feels now wasted, and the plans for the next 2 years to keep playing are lost, my trust broken if this is the quality of content I am to expect from the future updates.
