A dissapointmnent. After a great run on older consoles, GoW became even better with a powerful story of son and father bonding on a journey to scatter the ashes of their beloved one mother and wife. It had a great gameplay, but cinematics and graphics, but most of all - a very coherent soul o the tale it conveyed. The sequel to this is... a game that delivers very similar albeit somehow weaker gameplay... and a story so tedious it's hard to finish and a o one you just can't justify. I thought this will be my GOTY. It wasnt.
Amazing mood and story, there is a lot of beauty, disturbing horror and touching sensibility to be found here. The gameplay is good too. Combat is a bit much sometimes but I finished it 3 times already and I cant say goodbye to Hinako. If you are a gamer with a soft heart it will break you and you willl love it.
It was a 10 at first sight, but it became more and more tedious as the game went on. I still think it's very good, but in the end I failed to finish it... or it failed to grab my attention to finish it.
If you are not sure if you should try it because of jRPG combat, as I was... give it a go! I really dislike this kind of turn based fights where you don't move tactically through the battlefield (as opposed to Baldurs Gate or XCOM) this game is a real gem! And the QTE and soulslike parry/dodge mechanics really make it more fun! The story, acting, and dialogues are really cool, and the gameplay is really addictive. I love the characters, and it makes me really care for them! For now it's an 8, but can see it going to 9 or 10, depending on how it will unfold. Edit: After finishing the first act with how the story developed and the extremely well designed boss fight I raise the note to 9. Edit: The game is not perfect but after crying through the ending I raise the score to 10. One of the best games I played.
It’s better and better. True review when I finish, so the score may change, but it’s the most interesting riff on Souls formula we have seen so far. Lore is captivating, fights need skill, exploration is demanding and the secrets are plentiful. The only thing I don’t like are the heavily discussed invisible walls. The lack of map that people sometimes bash is actually great, as it keeps you on constant alert not to miss anything. Free respecs and deep skill trees let you experiment and I love it. It’s a true triumph.
The performance is great. Graphics are great. Skill system and flexibility with moving skill points around is fantastic. Boss fight are plentiful, with a lot of variety and challenge but never unfair. Love the lore and original mythology. Just finished chapter 1 and can’t wait for more. one of the best games this year.
Amazing mix of Metroid Dread, Mario, Rayman and Dark Souls. As strange as it sound the effect is a superb, addicting, responsive and challenging game with amazing mood.
I only played a few hours but I’m very impressed. The beginning was a bit slow and the combat was a bit blend, but it soon becomes a powerful story with really gut-wrenching choices. The combat gets much better too, but it’s really the story and direction that hooks you. I’ll update after playing more but if you are on a fence give it go, it seems it will be a real gem in vein of Last of Us and Hellblade.
The story is a bit straightforward and probably aimed at teenagers more then adults, but for what this is is (1,5 tech demo) I was entertained. Moody, scarry, some impressive visuals and ideas. A bit too little gameplay.
A very solid and fun DLC with amount of gameplay equal to some full games. I had fun returning to Remnant 2 and if you liked the game its worth getting into its world once again to learn a bit more about its lore and unlock new items and class, and overcome some interesting bosses and quests.
The best single player story driven game ever. With update 2.0 and new DLC it has absolutely redeemed itself after a very rocky start. You can spend hours without killing anyone and still feel tension and care for every decision. The Phantom Liberty is a bit weaker as it fits into main story a bit wonky, but if you spread the missions between the original ones it is ok and the acting and writing are still top notch. Overall I was very disappointed with it at first but with all the patches and redesigns it is now on my top 10 best ever games. There are still some things that are less than perfect, but it really doesn’t matter in the long run. Can’t wait for a next game in series and bless the CD Projekt for not abandoning it.
I just love the game. Imaginative and super well designed. The ability to play campaign and adventure mode with the same character and switching between the 2 seamlessly is really awesome! Great lore and some of the most interesting bosses ideas I've seen in some time:) Some cool Returnal and Souls vibes. The ending is perfect I really loved how the story ended and I'm eager to jump back for more with DLCs! In the mean time I will coop helping players get throught the last boss. Fight with him is amazing and very rewarding once it clicks. At first you just feel like this is too much... but then you see the patterns and it's like a ballet. Very cool. I have some minor issues with runes, because the upgrades they give you are so small it almost feel like it's not worth investing in them at all and would like there to be more armours and consumables maybe... but it is really a game worth playing. Don't miss it!
Amazing game! My story with Sekiro is complicated. I bought it when it won GOTY but I played for maybe 2 hours and sold the game. It seemed brutal and not well designed. Some time later with PS5 I bought Demon Souls for launch. I played the **** out of it. It's a beautiful remake if you haven't played it. I went through most of the game, I advanced much more then the first time I played it on PS3. I think it because of the fact the loadings are so much faster now, so when you die you don't have to go and make a tea, before you can jump right back. Still did not finish it, because I was distracted by Returnal. OMG Returnal is perfect. Mind bending SF lore and hard fights that made my heart pumping adrenaline like nothing before... and then there was Elden Ring. By that time Returnal made me thirsty for a challange, so Elden Ring was excellent. Zelda like exploration, but better??? How is it even possible!? You stumble on to the lift and you spend next 3 days killing Dragon God who lives under the monster-ant kingdom in a long forgotten underground human civilnization. Amazing! And hard fights! Emotions so powerful, impossible really to describe. Once it ended I had to finish Demon Souls, which suddenly became extremely easy:) Once I got back to it, not only I killed the boss I was stuck on in second try... I basically sprinted through the rest of the game almost without dying. The final boss I got on my first try:) I got gud ;) Then Jedi Knight quickly which gave me a fix of FS... and Kena that contrary to her looks is a challenge with some bosses.... but I needed more... so I bought Dark Souls Trilogy... :D DS1 - cool, but to old... I will probably finish it after Sekiro... where I'm going... But DS3? This is the next level **** Great bosses, better then ER and really good graphics and fluency in 60fps. Loved it! I tried Bloodborne... it's ok but too old and clunky... same with DS2 - clunky as hell, actually looks worse then DS1 remaster... so after DS3 and all it's DLCs I bought Sekiro again, because many people say it's the best FS game... What can I say? iI you read all the way to this worlds and your journey and tastes, at least partially, align... then I think you will be enchanted by it. It's not that hard and you will have a blast with exploration, rythmic combat and cool lore. It's all so nicely packed into so many cool and tight mechanics... and there so cool secrets and suprises along the way... even the smallest details are really cool. Yeah. it's an almost perfect game! As close as game can be... I don't know yet if this is better then DS3... will see:) but the time spent with it, is definetely worth it.
I think if this game didn't had a Diablo in the title and was released as a new IP, no one would even noticed it. It's boring, repetitive, the fights are dull and extremely uninteresting comparing to everything that happened in game design in the last few years. I loved D1 and D2, D3 not so much, and D4 I only played for a few hours and got really bored. Not very interesting progressions, lazy wepon designs, it just feels incredibly static when fighting. None of my friends play it anymore and we were all hyped for an adventure in Sanctuary.
Looks like a Great sequel with impressive new mechanics. I just started it last night and was taken by an absolute suprise when I realised its 3am. Promising start if just the first few hours manage to grab you with such power.
Maybe the game is good maybe it is not? Who knows? I don’t. I paid 70USD for a disc with a demo, because the rest has to be downloaded. I bought a physical version and the disc is just a key to download a game. Intolerable! If you live in a place where 100GB download is hard a trouble, you can’t play it. Hey, what if you want to preserve it and play on your console in 20 years like you do with PS1 and PS2 titles? You won’t be able, because you don’t own this game. It seems like it was too much trouble for EA to include 1 or 2 more discs in the box. Let them regret this decision and don’t buy it.
Perfect platformer. There is no other title that can compete with with Mario like Sackboy. A multitude of levels, great challenges and a ton of secrets that make it a must buy, especially if you are looking for a fun couch co-op.
Works good on Switch but the fact that many levels are dark as hell it’s hard to play in in daylight, which may be important to someone who like me bought it for a holiday trip:) anyway the game turned out to be pretty good survival horror with unique and well developed world and puzzles. Highly recommend if you like SH, RE and Returnal.
This game is the best and final reason never to preorder a game. Also, an unfortunate example of the gamers' trust abused by developers. It is not finished at this moment and should not have been released in its current state.
One of the most amazing games I ever played. The story it tells is even more engaging and complex than the one of the first game. Highly recommend! Very evocative and emotional with superb gameplay. If you are a mature player who likes interesting movies and books you will love it. Ignore the bad reviews where people can't accept that it is not what they imagined it would be and hate the bleak, grey atmosphere. Yep - there are no good guys and heroes in the TLOU2 and it makes it probably the most mature game since the MGS3: Snakeeater.
