What should you expect from a sequel in a franchise? Improvements, something grander, more, and even cooler... but for me, Horizon Forbidden West didn't deliver that. It felt like more of the same with some minor quality-of-life improvements, but nowhere near enough to label it a top-tier title. Visually, it was outstanding once again—Guerrilla clearly excels at that—but the gameplay hasn't evolved enough in my opinion.I still feel no connection to the NPCs. Aloy is cool, but she’s no Nathan Drake or Joel Miller. The side missions and storytelling are still not on par with many other games (especially other Sony titles). No, I expected more. It was entertaining, but forgettable."

I thought it was a cool game. Good, but not great. There were just a few too many irritations that could have been handled better. I did enjoy the gameplay to a certain extent; while it wasn't always perfectly smooth, it definitely passed the test. There are other Sony titles that have done this better, so the game could have used some extra **** most distracting part for me was the AI. The NPCs weren't interesting at all and felt quite simple and dim-witted. The fetch missions in the open world felt like a chore rather than something I did for fun. On the other hand, the Decima Engine was absolutely stunning. With the lighting effects and the mechanics of the robot dinosaurs, it was a real treat to look at. Unfortunately, great graphics and 'okay' gameplay aren't enough to make this an unforgettable, timeless title for me."
