Ocean

A surprisingly fun, powered up, racing game that is essentially a grown up mario kart with real cars. The game is quick and easy to learn and provides great single and multiplayer experiences. It's simple and has some fantastic music and shiny graphics. Sadly the multiplayer base is not a large one and the level matching fails. A lot of multiplayer races will end up having a level 50 person dominating the majority of the races which can be disheartening. In light of that, it's a great game when your friends come over that's quick and fun for everyone but with less of the mario kart rage.

By combining the story telling and emotions of a tv hospital drama with the fun game play of six different game modes, this is the best of the Trauma series if not a must have for the Wii. The game has independent game play modes each focusing on a different doctor with interweaving stories. Each doctor has their own background with great characterization and specialization. 4 out of 6 of the game play modes are fully co-op which work very well together (though we found the endoscopy lacked a bit). Of the other two, playing the diagnostic missions is like playing the tv show House while the other is like CSI. Each mode is fun and different from the others, as well each mission is different enough that game play doesn't begin to feel repetitive. The story and characters are bright and funny with a good mix of drama that brings all six characters together in the end. This game was surprisingly amazing and I highly recommend it.

If you've liked the previous two Professor Layton games, then this one will not disappoint. Another large collection of different types of puzzles set to another mysterious story line. Although I found the main story a bit weaker then the previous two games, it's still wonderful and makes up for it by giving a heartfelt look into our protagonist's past. Add in the great music and animations, this is another fantastic puzzle story game for the DS.

The game starts out well with interesting puzzles and a decent story but this quickly goes downhill. The puzzles are well thought out but are too few with the last being a disappointing sudoku. As well , while you're trying to solve the puzzles you are constantly being interrupted for another piece of story which can be very game breaking. The story along with the concept of being trapped in a Saw or Cube type of scenario is exciting at first but quickly becomes bland. This isn't helped by the fact you must repeat the game at least twice to get the true ending (which is highly unlikely if you truly want to play all the puzzles). Presenting the player with a large Titanic-sized ship setting, and then not allowing any exploration is frustrating to say the least. You are locked into a very linear storyline, only able to make a handful of actual player decisions. This all adds up to being a decent visual novel that you have to read at least twice and with little to no game play.
