Pilotwings Resort7
Sep 6, 2025
Exploring Wuhu Island on a handheld for the first time makes for a great introduction to the 3DS. It controls well and the freedom of flying through various means is always a pleasant feeling.
At the end of the day, the main meat of the game comes down to the missions which are perfectly fine but it does sort of feel like your playing the same Pilotwings as the one 20 years prior. As solid as it is, it doesn't really take the series any further than it being on that island you remember from a couple of years ago.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition9

Looks and plays better than ever before, 60fps and HDR work wonders for this game. You'll never have felt more immersed in Hyrule before this. The Zelda Notes app is a bit clunky but does make for a more flexable experience.

Mario Kart World9

The core gameplay of Mario Kart has never been better which can easily be taken for granted but in reality is the product of 30 years' refinement.
The new addition of 24 players combined with Knockout Tour make for an incredible feeling behind the wheel. The open world is gorgeous and makes for a refreshing change of pace, the implementation of missions and collectibles are perfectly fine however given how many of them there are, there is little incentive to do them other than a sticker and...just being able to say you've done them. I am in split minds as to how the open world has been incorporated into the main racing modes, where there is a strong reliance on 'route' type courses which connect one location to another. These can be a mixed bag, and while their appearance can be controlled in offline VS. matches, the lack of options for Grand Prix and Online is a hard pill to swallow. But at it's core it's a fantastic, multiplayer game that will define the Switch 2 generation and is bound to evolve over the next few years. With a weird but wonderful character roster and some of the best music in any Nintendo game there is a lot,to love about this game despite the odd design choice here and there.
