Final Fantasy Origins7

Playing Final Fantasy I again felt like I was getting to play a great piece of history. Really enjoyed it after having not been up to the challenge when I was a wee little one. Final Fantasy II on the other hand, I couldn't get into it at all. Something about the graphics where just so completely ass ugly to me. A must have for Final Fantasy fans, especially if you love the 2D games.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy8
Jan 4, 2015
If you love Final Fantasy and wished you had a game where you could move like Advent Children, this is the best option out there. At least if you discount 012. Between Dissidia and 012 you've got 2 very solid fighter RPGs, which is an odd combo and thus a niche title. This is NOT a perfect title, and would be better on a full console, but, for what it is, I don't know a single game outside of its sequel that does it better.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII3

It has good graphics. I have nothing else good to say about this flaming turd ****. I would like to not apologize to all the flaming turds for needing to use them in comparison to this "game". This is what happens when you take a really cool character and then let a bunch of **** make a Devil May Cry style game with him. Square should have issued a formal apology and promised to hire Platinum to remake it and do it right.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children7

The gameplay in this was **** terrible! *JOKING!* A very well done sequel MOVIE to one of the greatest games ever made. There are a few minor things I could have lived without, namely Denzel. That character didn't need to be in the movie at all. I really have no idea why he's there.

The combat in this Final Fantasy title may be the best in the entire series. But, there are some major issues with this game. First off, I hope you enjoy feeling like you're trapped inside a Britney Spears video. Because that's where you're going to be for the entire game. I love **** like Britney and Katy Perry and at times even I felt it was a bit much. If you enjoy time bar-turn based combat and don't mind the over girly tones, this game is an absolute must buy.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII8

Random leveling, summons and limit breaks. Why? **** why? I would give this game a 9.5 out of 10 if it weren't for those being randomized. I had to pause the game more than once during the ending because I was crying too hard and couldn't see the screen. I desperately want to give this game a perfect score, but it just isn't there. Random leveling... wtf.

Final Fantasy VIII8

After VII, I've spent more time playing VIII than any other Final Fantasy. But, it's not a perfect game. A few of the characters are quite obnoxious, the card game... **** the card game. And the magic system is one of the worst in a Final Fantasy title. If you're a JRPG lover or Final Fantasy lover this is a must have.

Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection6
Jan 4, 2015
The combat I found to be very standard, really nothing to get excited about. The story I really loved, until I didn't. Without going into spoilers, quite a ways into the game the pull a few "Just kidding! They didn't REALLY die!" cards in a row. It just took all of the emotional impact out of the game for me as anytime anything bad happened I was just waiting for it because they did it so many times. Also, I only really cared for the original IV. IV-2 & 3 were both just quite lackluster and I didn't even bother finishing 3 after about 20 hours spent on it. IV is worth getting and playing through if you've played many other Final Fantasy titles and would like to see the rest.

Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy8
Jan 4, 2015
Very good game, really takes everything good about the first and simply adds more. My only real gripe is that it's a PSP title instead of on a full console and holding the PSP starts hurting my hands after awhile. This is, IMO, a very niche title though. I think you need to really be a fan of both Final Fantasy and fighting games to get much of anything out of it. It reminds me a lot of some of the longer Soul Calibur story modes.

Final Fantasy X8

Very very good game. The turn based combat where you're allowed to switch characters in and out is executed fantastically. This is absolutely the biggest strength of the game. The story is hit and miss. When it goes into deeper explanation of what's happened it's just overly complicating what didn't need more and actually makes it worse. Tidus, AKA Meg Ryan, is... well... he's awful. He never should have been the main character. Many of the side characters are quite great though, such as Auron and Lulu. If you're a fan of JRPGs this is a must have. If you're not, this isn't likely going to be the one to change your mind.

Final Fantasy XIII-24

It's a **** game for a second time with some minor alterations. Not really much else to say. Did you think all XIII needed was Pokemon collecting and moogles? If not, skip this and don't look back.

Final Fantasy VII10
Jan 4, 2015
Quite simply my favorite game on any system. There's virtually nothing I don't love about this game. I've played it from beginning to end more than 25 times. I love the characters, story, music, style, world, combat, magic system... About the only negative I can really give is that it is in desperate need of a serious graphical update. Hopefully someday Square will get its head out of its ass and give us a proper HD remake.

Final Fantasy XII6
Jan 4, 2015
The graphical quality, objectively, is high. Though, I personally didn't care for the styling. The combat feels like an attempt at making a fake MMO. The first 15 hours or so, where I had to control everything almost completely manually was painfully bad. But then once you're able to give the characters enough automatic commands it gets better, for awhile. Then after about 70 hours or so, after you've completed the story and are doing extras, it slows down to a crawl as enemies have completely insane hp numbers. The story felt really small scale for a Final Fantasy title to me. Every Final Fantasy you're fighting for the fate of the entire world. In XII, you're basically involved in something along the lines of France VS the UK & Spain, but you never see Spain. The gamed ended at what I had expected to be the end of the 2nd act, but there's then no 3rd act. It's "okay". Worth a buy if you're looking for a JRPG and can't find anything better.

Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster8
Jan 4, 2015
A re-release of a very, very good game and a very solid game. The HD reskinning is hit and miss. The issue being a LOT of characters didn't get truly updated, they simply got smoothed out. So you often have high end PS2 modeled characters talking to well done PS3 HD graphical models and the difference can be quite jarring. Out side of that, if you enjoyed X and/or X-2, and you have a HD tv, this is well worth the money.

Final Fantasy XIII4
Jan 4, 2015
The CGI was absolutely amazing. The musical score was straight up beautiful. There's nothing else good I have to say about Final Fantasy XIII. The characters' personalities are bland as can be. The character designs are bland and yet completely over-produced at the same time that just scream that they're trying so hard to look like they're not trying too hard. The story is told quite possibly worse than any I've ever seen in a video game, and the story itself isn't even good. Basic story telling elements are completely left out and you're given an in-menu encyclopedia to read if you want to know what things are. I recommend this game to only the hardest of hardcore fans.

DmC: Devil May Cry4
Jan 2, 2015
This game was painful. The gameplay and the new character designs were just plain bad. And the graphics, while having a pretty high polygon count, just look slimy and entirely unnatural. 4 out of 10, it's functional, but not a good game and not deserving of the DMC title.
