A great combination of both modern and classic experience. Level grinding is easy and very welcoming to new comers as well as those who already played the original. Playing it on Switch means you can play it on the go at the palm of your hand, making it more enjoyable despite having less fps compared the other version, which will not affect your gameplay.

A downgrading version of a heavy game to fit in to an underpowered system is a double-edge move. Lots of changes can be seen when you compared the Nintendo Switch version and other more powerful platforms. The Switch version removed the one factor I really liked to this game, the open world experience. While some other open world games managed to stay Open World upon arriving to switch, this game did not. While it takes some of the fun I am expecting, I hope that they can make a patch or update for the Switch version and continue supporting this version.

A remake of a classic that capturs the nostalgia for those who already experienced it and feel the sense of what really is Star Ocean for the new comer.
