NOTE: REVIEW MAY BE SUBJECT TO REVISION UPON FULL RELEASE This is an amazing game, it's an FTP first-person shooter that's set in the European Theater of WWII. You start as a standard infantryman, but as you increase in rank you can unlock new classes (like tank crewman, fighter pilot, recon, and paratrooper). The game also allows you to unlock new weapons and vehicles through both rank and by earning combat ribbons (basically an achievement system). There is also a place to get together with friends of the same class and form a squad so you can all play together (number of friends in you squad is dependent on your class, i.e. infantry can have six, while tanks can have three). You can also have multiple soldiers, so you can have a variety of classes to play with (I have an infantryman, a tank crewman and a fighter pilot). There is also a place where you can pay to unlock vehicles and weapons early (although for tank crewman, if you buy a heavy armor off the bat you will not be able to use it very often until you get to a rank where there are heavy armor squads). Another neat feature is you can unlock upgrades for your weapons, like a hair trigger for your guns that will increase ROF but decrease stability. Or for tanks and jeeps you can get infantry support crates (ammo and health, or anti-tank weapons). All in all, this is a great game and it's only in beta form. It has a great diversity of classes, weapons, and vehicles. If first-person shooters are your thing, then you should definitely try this game, and since it's free, it can't hurt to try it.

I'm just going to start off by saying this: What A Load Of Crap! I got this game the day it was released and I was highly. I am just now reviewing this because I was refusing to even acknowledge this game's existence. I recently decided to to install it again to see if it had been patched and was improved, but I was still disappointed. In the original release you had four game modes, Military Campaign, Economical Campaign, Free Build and Multiplayer Skirmish. The campaigns had engaging stories, but the amount of bugs and glitches makes the game unplayable. I like what they did in free build where you can send invasions against yourself, but the fact that you had three maps, all of which had the worst keep, was a great disappointment. Multiplayer never worked very well, so I can't give anything more than that. The only good things about this game are the music and the story. One of the most frustrating things in this game is the build limit on buildings, while understandable, if you build a huge fort with walls and towers, you will have absolutely no economy. If you are going to buy a Stronghold game, get the Warchest (or whatever its called) from Steam for about $20 or Stronghold Crusader 2, which was released two days ago. In conclusion, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, there are much better ways of spending your money.

This is one of the best applications of the D&D 3.5e ruleset in video games. I have been playing this game since 2004, and I'm still not done with it. It is such a great game that I ended up getting a Win7 and up optimized version from GOG (since I had the original release copy and couldn't get it to work on Win7), it doesn't have the diversity of feats and spells that it's successor does, and the fact that it's only semi-turn-based (it's turn-based, but the turn get run so quickly that counterspelling, something that I do a lot in table top D&D, almost impossible. But as I said it is one of the best applications of the 3.5e rules out there, so for those of you who are avid players of 3.5e D&D, you would love this game, hell anyone who likes a good RPG would love this game. Now the campaign itself gets boring after a while (sure I have played it over 20 times), but with the addition of premium modules you can and your own modules you can make, it keeps single player fun. The multiplayer features, in my opinion are unparalleled across the Strategic RPG Genre. The diversity of the various servers (almost all of which are player made), and the amount of dedication by the owners to keep playing on the server fun is amazing. In conclusion, one of the best games I have ever played, an amazing adaptation of the 3.5e rules, and it keeps pulling you back to it.

Bottom line, one of the best RTS games I've played. The campaign is engaging, there is a lot to do in free build, also with HD you have access to some maps created by other players which is pretty awesome. This is still tied with the original Stronghold Crusader for being the best in the series (I am writing this right after the release of Crusader II). This is Firefly's masterpiece, and I am saying this almost 13 years after its release. My one objection is, if you finish the Military and Economic Campaigns, there is not much else to do except free build and sieges, but Firefly fixed that with the addition of skirmishes with Crusader. But even with that objection I have been replaying the military campaign a lot, because it is that engaging. So, in conclusion, this is an amazing game, and makes the Stronghold Pack from Steam (Stronghold 1, 2, Legends, Crusader, and Crusader Extreme) an amazing deal.

Stronghold: Crusader II9

Firefly Studios has done it, they made up for their previous game, Stronghold 3. I have been awaiting this game for months, and so far it lives up to my expectations. I have been playing it since I got it at about 11:00 am on the date of its release, and I not tired with it yet. There are a few things that I found annoying: 1. No laddermen or Siege Towers. 2. prone to random crashes (but that may just be my computer) &3. like every SH game besides legends (maybe 3 but I got too frustrated at that to notice) I click produce unit X times and I get X soldiers, whereas in Legends I could drag a slider to the designated number and click the produce unit button once to get multiple units (though this is just a personal preference). The good definitely outweighs the bad. The physics engine is amazing (I especially like seeing the archer corpses fall limp over the battlements). The graphics are great, especially the textures of the water and the sand. Although I was hoping for a little more diversity with the number of lords for skirmishes (for example: it has the rat and the wolf, so why not the pig and the snake?). But all in all it is a great comeback after the failure of Stronghold 3, and I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls10

I would like to start out by saying that after having logged about 200 hrs on ROS alone, I am still playing the game. The loot 2.0 is an amazing addition to an already great game, in vanilla D3 I was one of the people who got most of their legendarys from the auction house, but now I have a sufficient amount of legendarys coupled with very good rare gear that plays to my character's strengths. The removal of the AH/RMAH is another reason that I love the expansion. I personally thought that with the RMAH made the game biased towards people who had money to drop on the game, and as someone who is just out of high school, that person is not me. I will admit that the vanilla game had some weak points to it. The difficulty levels is a great example, I am sure that most of us have tried to power level your Paragon Levels on Inferno 10 and it either took 10 minutes to kill one encounter or you died within 2 seconds of entering the area. The fact that in ROS that I can run the game on Master with a new character and be an appropriate level to kill the final boss of the Act without dying an obscene amount of times (I'm talking about you Belial) really appealed to me. What astonishes me about other reviews of this game is how they are based on a couple hours played at a friends house and not extensive play, so to those reviewers: actual beat the game from start to finish before whining about it and calling it a bad game. I am going to finish with this, to those of you who are going to think when they read this, that I'm just another fanboy who is constantly optimistic about how this game will get better, stop now because yes I am a fan of the Diablo series, I have beaten all three games with every character, but I like this game, it holds up to the Diablo legacy of being the King of Hack'n'Slash games. It was well worth the $40 and I will get hours more of enjoyment out of it. PS: IT'S NOT DIABLO 2, IT WILL NEVER BE DIABLO 2 SO SHUT UP ABOUT IT.

I bought this game the day it came out and I have been playing it ever since, and I must say I love every minute I spend playing it. Even when you complete the game you can just keep going (unlike diablo 2 with a level 99 cap), and the fun never ceases. I would highly recommend this game to other gamers looking for a great RPG to get addicted to.
