IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad10
Oct 28, 2014
Before reading my review or anyone else's, take a second to look up a video of this game. If you can accomplish that simple task, you will realize none if these reviews mean anything because the game is what you make of it, and it provides you with everything to make the game the best you can play, or you can look at minor flaws and give it a zero because you can't live with even one small feature that isn't Made just for you. Alright so let me start off by saying I am a licensed pilot for gliders and single engine aircraft. I have been flying for 7 years now and I have hundreds of hours of flight time. I know what it feels like to fly an aircraft. So I was a founder of the game when it first came out and loved it. There was a lot of improvements with each update and it was extremely promising. Towards the end, however; the development started turning into a disaster. A lot of user input was ignored and many decisions were based off of pure developer opinions versus the user opinions. The reason I am giving the game a 10 is to counter the lies a lot of reviews here claim. People are giving this game a zero because of a simple system that has NOTHING to do with the simulator as a whole. How does unlocking stuff make a great game into an awful game. People are over dramatic and I'm not saying the game is perfect, but it is the best flight SIM out right now. When you buy a flight simulator, that is what you are buying. It simulates flight! A lot of people are giving negative reviews because the game has "bad flight models?" And you Mr.I give games zeros because I can, have flown an aircraft before? Didn't think so. The flight models are amazing. You can feel the speed, turbulence, and weight of the plane. I understand why a lot of people are upset about this. It's actually hard to fly and shoot at the same time! The original Il2 had no turbulence and the physics at the time could not simulate lift.Battle of Stalingrad does a great job of simulating every aspect of aviation. In terms of visuals the game is the best I've ever seen. Even better than DCS in terms of plane models(DCS wins for environment though) and the combat is so compelling. You are gripping your stick as hard as you can as you fight in a rolling scissors and ballistics are on point. Do not listen to all the zero reviews. And if you think I'm a fanboy then look up videos and see for yourself! The game is awesome and multiplayer is a blast with a lot of custom missions already and large scale servers. The game can only get better with support and these devs are the only ones willing to make us WW2 flight Sims anymore. Like I said. Look up videos and see how much this game accomplishes.

Cortex Command9

The concept is great and the factions are so different it actually feels uniqu when you fight each one. The gameplay is going to feel VERY foreign to anyone who picks it up. The controls will feel clustered and anti-intuitive, but i assure you that it actually isn't that bad and is quickly picked up. As far as gameplay if you hate 2D games you can stop reading my review right now. But the game is based off of a physics system that basically relates to EVERYTHING. Between movement, projectiles, destruction, and basically everything else; the game doesn't really relate to damage as much as the physics. Hit a guy in the neck, he bleeds out. Blow off a left leg...a right **** limps, he hops, he crawls, and if you blow off both legs...well hes a legless jet with a gun. And destruction is like minecraft. You chip away at things until it breaks into a bunch of smaller...things/particles. All the damage on the maps stays. So your campaign is very dynamic and fun. The game only lucks AI **** i mean sometimes its amazing...other times its worse than a game from 1995. Seriously, some gun fights, your troops are ducking and moving to avoid projectiles and using everything they got. Other battles my guys shoot in the wrong direction, jump onto grenades, and/or pull out a digging gun for a gun fight. So with patches and what not, the AI will become better. The campagin is a giant sandbox that you pick up to 4 teams, and then up to 12 gold sites. You fight over these gold sites until everyones "deploys" every brain they have. After every brain is deployed. The game decides who wins by either who has the most sites, or if theres equal amounts of sites owned, who has the most gold. So basically it's your own story every time. I can say the game is fluent and fun with some bugs and lacking stuff. But theres enough content to keep you going. Mods bring the game to shine even brighter if you dont mind using them. So i give the game a 9. Just one point off for the confused AI(never can decide whether it wants to be a good AI or horrible AI). Give the game a try, it didn't seem to look good but after playing it i can say it's great and still improving.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown9
Oct 9, 2012
Well, at first it seemed alright, i would have originally gave it like a 6 or 7. But just as i was about to get off, i realized there was alot more to do. that bumped me up to like a 8. I saw the game being good because i could experiment with different stuff like equipment and tactics. But then that was about it. So just as im about to get off to write my review, im playing a mission to escort a scientist to safety. Just as im about to extract him, a hiding alien kills him with overwatch...that ended my happiness. And then the next mission after was a terror mission! Now get this. The only species of alien in this entire mission were **** im not going to give away what they are if you are new to xcom, but lets just say too many of these buggers on a terror mission and not even maxed veterans can fully survive. So i lost 5 out of my 6 men while taking 23 of those little buggers with me. Thats when i decided this game deserves a 9. Not only does it create a challenge. But it has a good feel to it where you dont get bored. It gives you just enough uniqueness to think its something new. But thats where i think it may have a hard time. Today's kids drop anything they can't really beat the first or second try. Well ladies and gentlemen. If this is your first xcom. You aren't going to beat it your first or second try. Possibly not even your tenth. Then again i am playing on iron **** well. I'd surely recommend XCOM:Enemy Unkown to all players that enjoy a good challenge and have fun doing so.

Torchlight II9
Sep 20, 2012
Such a good game. I played diablo 2-3, dungeon siege 1-3, and torchlight. And i can safely say this beats all of them. It has that constant feel like eveyrthing is so unique and some awesome equipment is gonna come up your next fight. And its great it still has all the skills to get and level up and the animations for everything are awesome. The graphics are alot more polished over torchlight 1 but still give the same feel. The game has a never ending variety to monsters. You never feel like you are ever fighting the same species of creature for too long. The environments are great. And i can't explain how much i love the random events and finds. One second you kill a creature and teleported to a new realm where you get a challenge like defending a crystal from hordes of goblins or just roaming the world and you come across a bandit camp holding prisoners and if you free the prisoners they give you a chocie of three items to pick from which are always good. Then there are some secret actions you can do but i wont reveal that aspect of the game. So overall the game is by far the best hack and slash loot em up game out right now and probably for a long time. I haven't had the full experience with spells and magic as im more **** a hammer and smahs everytihng kinda player but from the looks of it it looks pretty sweet. And i also haven't tried co-op, but i mean if im having this much fun alone, having a buddy or two would just make it unreal. Final conclusion: Get the game, its 20 bucks. What do you have to lose?

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords10
Aug 4, 2012
Some people believe kotor one is better than kotor 2 or vice-versa. Through what i have seen, it depends on the player's character. Because in my opinion the stories are both equal in depth BUT they have different feelings. Kotor 1 has more a story that anyone can understand and it's story is more open ended than the 2nd kotor. Kotor 2's story is darker and richer. You feel like your choices decide whether the sith deserve to rule or the jedi. Therefore it's more about your choice. Other than that the gameplay is the same other than kotor 2 has a few more powers. But kotor 2 has some points where the only way you will understand is if you played the first. But kotor 2 can easily be played before playing kotor 1. They are a great series and if you aren't the itchy kind of gamer that just wants action, then this is the game for you as it has one of the best stories and feel to it.

The Secret World6
Jul 12, 2012
The game has great graphics, story and dialogue is superb, and the open way of doing things is great. SO when you start the game it feels great. But it quickly loses its shine as you realize there is absolutley nothing unique about the game. You have seen all the creatures before, they are from fables when you were a kid. So really the game isn't bad, the quests can range from extremely boring, to very in depth and fun. Overall the game is extremely well put together with few flaws but that just doesn't save it to the fact the game is like a repeat of past mmo's. So i rate it a 6, great game and mechanics, poor originality. OH and that little thing they advertise about "no levels" is such a lie, you do have levels, you progress through the perk tree which makes you insanely stronger to people with lower perk **** yeah there is leveling they just dont name it that

Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter9

June 3rd, 2012. The game is stable and i have 22 hours played and no crashes or freezes. The game has alot of features but is very complicated. The UI isnt bad its just there are so many menus you can get lost sometimes. Overall its the best 4x title i have ever played and its stunning graphics and mechanics is just awesome. The reason i take a point off is the fact there are a bit of things here and there that are EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Such as the fact you HAVE to assemble a fleet to protect ever single system you own. This is so frustrating its unreal. Plus combat gets annoying because you cant freely move the camera, you have to double click on your units and then the camera follows. So really the game just needs a few tweaks and it would be perfect.

Iron Front: Liberation 19447
May 25, 2012
The game uses the same engine as arma 2 so yeah its going to be similar. So imagine arma 2 but as a ww2 genre type game. But the game runs more like a war engine. You will find yourself actually fighting the enemy. Arma 2 can feel cheap as the ai will snipe you with an AK from 400 meters away. In this game you wont get sniped by a pistol but instead of having a conflict 300-500 meters away. This game encourages you to get up in close for the kill. Ive been playing singleplayer and its challenging at some parts and then i tried the **** largest server i found was maxed out at 32 players and it was buggy getting in and then i recieved a CTD. So i expect a patch within this month to correct that and overall the game runs great. Id recommend this game if you wanted a stronger fighting style in arma 2. The game deserves a 7 because it is great but three points off due to some ai just stand there and a CTD and buggy multiplayer launch. Definatley get the game if you are an arma vet and for any newcomers check this out, multiplayer is easy to pick up and plenty of action. Hopefully we will see the server list start filling up and get 64 player servers.

Jagged Alliance: Back in Action8
Feb 11, 2012
The game really makes you think. It can be tedious work sometimes but it can also be very challenging. The gameplay is repetitive but you do not really realise this because the layout of every area is very unique with different vantage points and choke points. A great sum of weapons and equipment make the game seem like every character is unique and every enemy you have to look at to get a understanding if he is wearing body armor or not. The game deserves an 8 for a well planned game with a unique concept and gameplay that will last awhile. I have 11 hours into the game and i've been running into graphical glitches and crashes. Could be my sli setup by why 11 hours to conflict. Either way i would recommend the game. But fair warning, if you don't have patience than this is not for you. One enemy can whipe out your entire team if you rush without care.

Minecraft5
Nov 23, 2011
The reason i give this game is because modders made the game so interesting yet notch just throws a half baked game at you. Notch is the founder of Minecraft btw. So basically its a good game, amazing idea, PERFECT execution. Why a 5 then? Cuz notch is now too busy getting laid and signing papers to care about the game anymore. There used to be HUGE updates, upgrading visual effect and quality, more **** they just fix bugs and leave it at that...i see modders who spend 2 days making a mod and BAM! we have small clay soldiers having a war, or a giant world where you and your friend have a all out war with skeletons and zombies with explosions eveywhere and upgraded combat algorithms! Yet Notch and his small team take a month to fix a bug where a monster accidently kills himself all the time cuz he touches water....like wow. So basically the game gets a 10, the developers now get a 0. So overall the package is a 5 because if you want to have fun you are going to mod. Thats the end of it.

Stop busting their balls about the graphics! The game has low texture quality but everything else is awesome. Even though my game crashed twice **** still crazy good. The graphics are only bad wehen you walk really close to the object, and because its optimized fights can range from you and one enemy, to you, 10 companions, and 20 enemies! Hell even higher but i havent seen it yet. All in all the game is an instant classic and to not buy it or say it **** cuz the graphics arent the greatest its just wrong. The content is slowly fed to you. There is alot there, you just wont see it all at once. Every hour i find something new and unique. But the story is kind of boring. Overall it has GOTY written all over it!

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad9
Oct 11, 2011
WOW, this game has to be the most intense game i have ever played. Sure there are a few bugs here and there but just the sheer feel of action in the game is crazy. You feel like your actually in the battle. Artillery going off everywhere, bullets whizzing by as you sprint to the next cover and set up just to shoot at flashing lights you see from windows(muzzle flashes) and then you sprint again to get right in the enemies face where everyone charges with bayonets and SMG's. There is absolutley no other way to describe the game other than the fact you can have it extremely realistic or play it like CoD, but in the end this game is a sure buy. And i have to admit, my favorite thing about this game has to be the sway of the gun, there is no pathetic easy no scope, you either have to be lucky or just keep shooting until a bullet hits if aiming from the hip. I cant tell you how many times i have ran out of ammo with no time to reload and hiding behind a door watching Germans poor in to kill me and as soon as they see me! STAB, my bayonet sticks into them just for 2 more Germans to rush in and fight me up close and personel. Just buy the game and you will know what i mean. And if the bugs are discouraging you from buying it, know that they ironed out the game so its almost perfect now besides a few graphical glitches and stupid A.I. lol. But in all honesty i have 26 hours played and i still am craving to jump on and see what happens next. Pros:Intense action, strategic gameplay, Teamwork Cons: Multiplayer lag, only 2 tanks, some maps have horrible designs to benefit snipers to an extremely high amount, NO MEDICS. Conclusion:Instant buy, grab a friend to play wih you, be my meat shield when you buy the game so i can get close enough to throw some C4 on those Panzer IV tanks :p

Deus Ex: Human Revolution5

Its literally the hardest game i have ever played and i beat ninja gaiden 1 and 2 on master ninja. This game completely relies on stealth and hacking, gun fights are boring and its duck, peak for 2 seconds, duck, peak for 2 seconds, duck. The map design is boring, find a vent and your home free. The only thing i like about the game to be honest is the "think out of the box" gameplay. There is at least 3 ways to do a mission, and by that, most of them are going to rely on stealth, maybe one or two involves gun-play and your mostly going to quit because your always getting ambushed. If the game had a better atmosphere, funner gun-play, and the ability to have allies or do co-op, this game would have a 10. And i refuse to lower my difficulty from hardest settings because everyone says the replay value of this game is below absolute zero.

Total War: Shogun 25
Aug 27, 2011
It seriously is the same everytime you play the game, everyone has the same units and its just bland. The graphics are nice but barely anyone can have a large battle with 30+ fps. And dont think im just saying that. My rig is a i5-2500k @4.2ghz, gtx570, 8gb ddr3 @ 1333ram, and plenty of cooling. The game mechanics are really all about seige, it is so rare to have a field battle that you cry. And sieges last barely 5 minutes due to the fact every unit can climb the wall. Theres no extreme strategies in this game. Load up on archers and cavalry and you already won. Read any review that is a 10, they either just bought the game or just talk about graphics. The gameplay is similar to medieval 2 but strip out the strategy, like i said every unit can climb the wall. There is nothing unique about the game for every unit is the same just different colors. The game would have been amazing if it was focused more on optimizing rather than just adding all kinds of graphcis no one even notices and clan differences. Rome or empire is still the most unique of the series. Buy this game when its 20 bucks.

Terraria5
Aug 19, 2011
First let me tell you my idea of fun so you can compare if you see things through my eyes. Call of duty is a mindless shooter that is just completely tedious, Elder scrolls FTW, Any rts game is god-like. Alright first off terraria is like an mmo. You need a friend to have fun. If you play alone, the max hours you will play is 20 hours and the average is 3 hours. This game is just a random generator. Basically it just creates a world you strip down to bone and then restart on a new world and strip it down. If you have multiple friends the game is just funny because the most random things happen that will slaughter your friend or he will get stuck or even a cave will collapse on him and you will be dieing laughing cuz it might have taken you guys an hour to get where you were. So i give it a 5, if you have a friend its just a social game, if you have no friends than go buy something more dedicated to solo players.

Jul 21, 2011
Alright look at my date of review compared to everyone else. THEY FIXED MOST ISSUES. Never crashed on me, run everything on high smoothly, no sound problems and most of all its just such an awesome game. Everything is just so amazing and real. Huge multiplayer matches, intense heart pounding action. Really this game is just amazing. Sure it needs a few tweaks here and there but they are working on it, patch after patch, and such a dramatic performance improvement. This game is a 10 no doubt. But i warn everyone, when i say realistic i mean it! I was on a server and 10 "kids" complained because they didnt know how to start the engine. Mixture, Prop, fuel **** and much more is applied to start the engine! It is one intense, fun, and serious game all in one. I really hope people will buy this game because it really isn't a let down, if you read others they still love the game even when it did have all the crashes. Its just THAT good

Operation Flashpoint: Red River6
Jun 7, 2011
The game is beautiful when you jump in, but it gives a gloomy look to everything. The gameplay is very linear and tedious. If they added a cover system the firefights would actually be fun. Your character gets caught on the smallest possible rocks and cant move and that gets annoying, The animations are a bit choppy and overall its just so low on content its all the same. You go in, shoot guys, try to get to extraction, helo cant land because too many bad guys, your fireteam gets ****. and then you win. All this in 5-10 minutes. Campaign is boring. You fight for 3 minutes then get back to a in-game cutscene. Overall i feel like the game was a prototype for arma 3. Almost as if it was testing the new engine with the graphics and physics. So basically in a summary. The game isnt worth $50, its worth $20 at the most and its just another kill, kill, kill, respawn, repeat. And if you read anywhere that this is a tactical shooter. Get your facts straight, just because you can give orders to a mediocre AI doesnt make the game a tactical shooter. A game that relies on skill, teamwork, and communication is a tactical shooter. A beginner could take on this game as a lone wolf on the hardest difficulty and still make it through.

May 10, 2011
It isn't the best game but not the worst. Brink is for gamers looking for an objective type gaming society. The only way to get anywhere in multiplayer is with teamwork and communication. The customization of characters really isn't too exciting, you pick armor, and change the color really. But even with the color hanging, you only have about 5 color options for every piece and if you mix 2 colors your guy just looks horrific. So my message to all readers is get the game if you want a fun online experience that implements cool features with teamwork. But if you want to just be that campaign **** NOT BUY! There is no campaign, it is actually just arenas that you can play, I Mean when you buy the game, you can play the last level first and work your way back if you wanted to.

Apr 22, 2011
Remember those games where you needed skill and focus to win? Remember when a kid would join your team and complain the game is too hard? Remember those good ol' days when games actually had a meaning rather than....kill, die, killstreak, repeat? Well this is one of those games. If you read a review about someone complaining, well that just means they think they are god of all games just because it takes 7 bullets in call of duty to die. Yes my friends, this game is a lock and load, drop down into action, get behind cover, and get back to back with other teammates to take home victory. You can go lone wolf if you want but that takes skill and time. Remember kids, this isnt call of duty where they had to make a game that you CAN ACTUALLY WIN to make yourself feel better about yourselves. With that said! Lets get the review! First off when you enter a game, everything feels alien. It may seem like a complex system menu for some but maybe not for others. This game has a feature allowing you to customize your effectivness in combat. And so in order to win you must first lose. Learn the weakness of your enemy, if they have high shields, well than grab a gun that pulverises shields! Dont complain about it just shoot with an EMP round! And so really this game is like any other shooter such as battlefield or halo BUT! It implements skill. You need to actually learn from your mistakes and find weakness in your opponents. SO i say BUY it! This game is perfect for all the gamers out there who are veterans of the old games, the people who were actually good at games and didnt complain about everytime they were killed. You win some and lose some, get used to it(; And so this is a 9, why not 10? Cuz there are too many kids online who say i cheat when they run directly at me acting like their CoD 'Skills' will help them :p
