In the year 2000 my Mum bought a home PC and so I went to a games store to look for something to play. I always had a thing for ninja and samurai and Japanese history and culture in general so when I saw this game on the shelf and how many awards it had recently won I thought I'd give it a shot. Let me just say, this isn't just nostalgia speaking. I loved it back then and I would still occasionally play it up until September last year when I finally bought a modern gaming PC and got the sequel. Even so, I'm sure I'll probably return to it from time to time. It has the most replay value of any video game I have ever come across.
