It could take hours and hundreds of pages to talk about Frankenstein; the novel itself, the context of writing it & the life and motives of its author. No wonder it's one of the most adapted novels of all time.I shall limit myself to mentioning that del Toro's one is an actual rewriting not just a free adaptation. It's like a pastiche as some described. He definitely had something to say after all these years of waiting.Jacob Elordi deserves a standing ovation & Alexandre Desplat created an immersive score.Costume & production designs are also perfect.

This may carry a lot. More than the Golden Bear! You can see it as a coming of age movie, an unrequited love story, a **** one, a real test of how emotions tremble in different life stages or a unique story about the ambiguity of art & literature production but it disastrously failed whatsoever! I tried hard to find the exact word to describe my feelings towards the first hour and I found it to be ANGRY! I was really angry. I was about to quit. Is that an audiobook?! There are few moments when I thank God that he will leave me a space to start looking deeply at his characters and feel their emotions but he soon stabbed me with another hefty monologues. I found out at the end that Mr. Haugerud is originally a novelist. This is how not to make a movie with narration. It's not the same way of writing novels, I swear! This could be a real gem if the narrator shut the f* up & let us feel. (and remove that pretentious scene of the nan climbing the ladder) Shout out to the teenager She’s a good actress. I have no intention to watch the other parts in the trilogy nor to watch a movie chosen by Todd Haynes! But at least, I learned a new way of making tea.

Dune: Part Two6
Oct 15, 2025
As I said before, the first part was just a prologue to a big something in the making and here we go! This is a well-crafted movie. It goes without saying that the narrative is intersecting with a lot of islamic beliefs in a suspicious way; Lisan Al-Gaib, Muad’Dib, Mahdi, Fedaykin, the way of Sujud, women chadors and even the Atreides & Arrakis has something to do with the Maturidis & Iraq. If Edward Said still with us, he would have a lot to say! I found that very unpleasant and that's why the rating.

Seems like a glorified prologue to a stunning series not a separate film! It's a half film as some already said.

(Deep Breath!)
Okay………. It's just a GOOD MOVIE with some unforgettable performances and TOO MUCH HYPE, no more! These are some scattered thoughts: - Man, it’s not that easy to talk about REVOLUTION and rebels' life conflicts, if you really want. - Despite I hate the hypocritical prize talks but Sean Penn here is a WIN! & DiCaprio is surely NOT. How smart that is to keep his jaw so loyal to his name throughout the film. I think this is the only thing I will remember about that film 10 years from now. - Another WIN here is Chase Infiniti, I bet on her since last year Presumed Innocent (despite that Ruth Negga swallowed everyone with her exquisite performance in that show but Chase was shining) and she didn't let me down. She's the NEXT BIG THING!
GO baby CHASE the INFINITY! - Benicio del Toro is so charismatic more than ocean waves. - The "What time is it?" sequence was really funny. - I'm not a pretentious to talk about that VistaVision technique & I don't know if it has something to do with that or not, but the oscillating camera moves during the ups & downs long road hunt in the last chapter give me a potent motion sickness & getting-high experience at the same time, a strange & lovely feeling. - It's worth noting that the code speaking is very well crafted.
