If, like me, you want to play a good Battle Royale game but lack the building skills and know-how required to get anywhere near the top five in Fortnite, this is the game for you! It's every bit as fun as Fortnite, with similar cartoony graphics, but it's much easier to survive without having to resort to simply hiding in bushes and hoping for the best! I LOVE the chicken feature (rather than die straight away you transform into a comical chcken and have the opportunity to run for your life and hide, waiting for the timer to count down to being fully revived). Not only is it funny, but I have managed to escape and revive a few times now, which is a really nice touch, especially if you're not very good at these type of games like me. I'm also loving the idea of using the forge and having to try and protect it as you wait for it to finish making your item. I'm really impressed with this game and highly recommend it.

Priced well, and a surprisingly small file size, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this game is. Great atmosphere and pretty decent graphics, and some of the best AI I've seen in a while. The enemies don't blindly charge at you like so many games- sometimes they are hesitant, keeping a distance whilst watching what you will do next. Other times they will flank you, or run away and hide behind trees. Definitely the best survival game on the PS4 by a long way.

I love the Fallout franchise, and I was totally up for a MMO version of it, but I must echo everyone else on here and say that this is a huge disappointment. I remember the backlash ESO had upon release, people wanting "Skyrim with friends", but that was way better at launch than this, and since then with its upgrades it has become my favourite online game ever. TONS of content, great storylines and characters, much better graphics than its main rival, WoW and on the whole, runs very smoothly, even with loads of other players on screen. With this game, I wasn't expecting "Fallout 3 with friends", but at the very least something on par with ESO, vaguely hoping Bethesda would've learnt from Obsidian's release. With its constant bugs, atrocious graphics, awful AI, complete lack of immersion and characters, and enemies spawning out of nowhere, it appears not. It seems that Bethesda have gotten too big for their boots, and if they think they can crap on their customers by thinking that this is good enough for us, then they need to learn a valuable lesson: it doesn't matter how big you are, a business is NOTHING without its customers. We've parted with our cash and been stung this time- we won't next time. I can only hope that they have just enough humility to realise that they have really messed up, and hopefully they will sort this mess out and give us the game we deserve, because, as of now, they have not only seriously tarnished the Fallout brand, but also their own brand.

When this came out originally on the PS2 it blew me away. I considered it to be The Greatest Game Of All Time. Its elegant simplicity, incredible visuals and soundtrack and huge emotional impact left an indelible mark on me. I was so excited upon hearing it was being remastered for the PS4, and what a job they did. It's not for everyone- I daresay many would find it cumbersome and boring, but for the rest of us, this is what a masterpiece looks like. Easiest 10/10 ever.

I bought this on a whim in the Xmas sale, and I'm so glad I did. Let's say it was NOT what I was expecting. It looks cute, the game play is simple and fun and has one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard. But I was not prepared for how messed-up dark this game is! It might look like a kid's game, but it really, really isn't. Laugh-out loud funny at times and not for the easily offended! A true hidden gem.

I can only assume that they have fixed a lot of issues since some of these reviews come out as I haven't encountered any problems with saving my game, not experienced any game breaking lags. Sure, the controls are clunky and take a while to get used to, and the camera is not always your friend, but it's a gently paced game and isn't as big a deal as it would be with a fast paced action game. If the camera isn't being co-operative (which tends to be while I'm moving it away from my main Sim to locate another Sim to interact with in another room), I simply pause the game and that way I can take my time, make my selection and then resume play. It's a mild inconvenience, not a game breaker. The tutorial is especially clunky, with pop-up message boxes sometimes staying on screen getting in the way. But stick with it. Get the tutorial out the way and it's no longer a problem. The controls do become second nature after a while, and you get used to the camera. After a few hours in, you'll be utterly hooked. If it had the Karma feature of Sims 3, as well as better controls and camera, I wouldn't hesitate giving this a 10, but as is it deserves an 8. It's fun, addictive and like all Sims games, utterly charming. All the cons I mention are mildly annoying and certainly don't get in the way **** game, especially at the price it currently is in the January sale.

Let's get the obligatory Skyrim comparisons out the way first. I'm a huge Skyrim fan- when it came out I declared it the greatest game of this current generation. Sure, it's glitchy to the point of being oft unplayable, but with a game on such a huge scale it was never going to be as polished as a 5hr game like Modern Warfare! It simply was a great playing experience. Unfortunately for all other RPG's it is now the game to match, or if possible, beat. It set the bar incredibly high and comparisons WILL be inevitable. So, a few hours into DD how does it compare? I've got to say it compares VERY well indeed, and in many ways actually surpasses it. Skyrim has a better story, soundtrack, and sense of tangible history. It's bigger and everyone bought it on the day it come out, so it became an event- for a good month it was all every gamer was talking about. But... apart from the obvious glitches aside, I was disappointed at how easy dragons were to slay, how small they seemed and how every identikit dungeon was well lit- there was no fear of the unknown. When I imagine stepping into dungeons I think about what's lurking in the shadows beyond my torchlight; having a sustained feel of dread at what lies ahead, and coming across monsters which are so formidable I wonder how on earth it's possible to ever win. And this is where DD surpasses the mighty Skyrim. Most monsters are a serious challenge. Smaller ones often hunt in packs and take you down, and the big ones are truly epic battles on par with Shadow of the Collolus. Your first encounter with a giant hydra is by and away the most spectacular piece of gaming I have enjoyed so far, and you really feel like you are tackling truly formidable foes (as opposed to taking down dragons with a few hits in Skyrim). It is very easy to die in this game and it truly adds a sense of trepidation to the game. I must mention the use of lighting in this game- it's incredible! Night time is dark. Really dark. And the dungeons pitch black. You really need a torch, and the sense of the unknown before you as your torch lights up ten foot in front of you is amazing (plus it simply looks amazing). Hearing the groans of the undead before you can see them really adds to the excitement. And then the piece de resistance: the pawns. Not only are they incredibly helpful, giving you advice they are also very proactive. Sure, a companion in Skyrim will wade into battle for you, and also follow a couple of commands, but here they find hidden objects comment on different places and if they have previous experience of a foe they will advise you how to take it down. They grab hold of smaller foes so you can run in and kill them, they try and distract them so you won't get attacked and best of all you can customize your main one and share him/her with other players online. This is the future of RPG gaming! Talking of customization- this is the best in any game I have seen. So many other games let you customize faces and clothes, but Saints Row aside, never their physique. If you want to play a 7' fatty you can, or a tiny waif and anything inbetween. Methinks there are going to be some very funny looking pawns online very soon! Overall the graphics are fantastic. The character models are a tad simplistic, but the environment, lighting and monsters are superb. You really get a feel that you exploring a strange land inhabited by the most fearsome baddies around. So, back to the comparison: DD has much much better combat, better NPC's, better lighting, much tougher and formidable monsters, a better sense of adventure (no one-hit-and-they're-down frost trolls for example) and an online community with the pawns. It's more akin to a free-roaming Dragon Age and a slightly easier Demon's Souls than Skyrim to be fair. Skyrim is still the one to beat, but Bethesda could learn a lot from DD. If the next Elder Scrolls had the intensity of combat, the atmospheric and realistic lighting and similar pawn system of DD then it would be the greatest game of all time. In the meantime, DD serves to be a worthy adversary and a fantastic game in its own right. Buy it people. You know you want to!

The ultimate Marmite game! OK, so Sean Murray lied. This is NOT the game he promised, and given the fact that one of the pictures on the back of the cover is actually a screenshot from the E3 scam and therefore bears no resemblance to the actual game I would say that it is still being falsely advertised and surely Trading Standards should get involved? None of this is cool, and I fully understand the backlash this game has got. However, playing the game we ended up with, I can't help but love it. Sure, it could've been so much better (it could've been the game he promised), but taken as is, I really enjoy playing it. I know it's a grinder. You fly from one planet to another and all you do is mine, upload pictures (Beyond Good and Evil, anyone?), try to learn words so you can vaguely understand what the identikit aliens say to you before you choose the wrong option, and feed or run away from very odd creatures. It plays like an indie game for your phone, but on a gargantuan scale. But there's something about it. I love flying my little ship, exploring planets. The simplicity of the game soothes me, it's strangely addictive. Murray's lies aside, most of the negative comments state that the game is repetitive, but that's never done the Dark Souls series, Call of Duty series or any FPS any harm has it? Or is repetition only OK if it involves killing things? Personally I have had quite enough of getting sniped as soon as I spawn in multiplayer shooters, and the levels in most shooters look much the same, yet people are moaning about planets looking the same. Some do, but so far I have been pleasantly surprised at the variety. I honestly think there is a clear divide in age groups here. Old farts like myself who grew up playing Elite on the ZX Spectrum have always dream't of playing a game life this. It genuinely feels like a truly unique experience playing it, and has a slow, chilled pace to it. It encourages you to sit back and enjoy the journey, not race to the end like you would in most other games, and that is quite addictive. Not many games make me think about them and plan what I will do next. This one does. If you like your games frenetic, violent, and in your face, then this is not for you. But if you fancy a game offering something truly different, something you can actually relax whilst playing, try it. The greatest game of this current generation is The Witcher 3, but once the story is done and every place explored, every monster killed, it's done. This game has no story to speak of- just enough to intrigue, but if you don't chase the main Atlas quest, you have a game you can always dip into, and you will NEVER see all it has to offer. I love it!

I shall keep this short and sweet- if you like action RPGs buy this. Now!! It's absolutely stunning. It's the closest thing to Fable on the PS3, but ten times the size and with much better combat. Big Huge Games have pretty much learnt all the best ideas from other RPGs and put them into this one, thus reating a Super-RPG. Imagine Fable, Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls and the charm of Folklore all rolled into one game. It's amazing. Everything feels right. It's by far and away the most user-friendly and intuitive. If you're shooting someone with a bow and they get too close, no probs you use your secondary fight button and hit them with your sword, mace, whatever- no having to change weapon sets in the menu. There are no limits as to how you deal with enemies- bash 'em with a giant hammer, shoot them with a bow or zap 'em with a lightning bolt- you can do all three in the same battle! The graphics are cartoony like Fable, but are superbly animated; the characters funny, the world huge and varied, the combat great fun. Highly recommended!

This is a tricky game to review. Taken as is in its own right, it is a perfectly good game. I enjoyed playing it, there was plenty to do and it presents good value for money. But taken in context as a sequel in a brilliant franchise, it is yet another example of developers dumbing games down to try and appeal to as many people as possible. Fallout 3 is one of the greatest games ever made. Part FPS part sandbox RPG, I really felt like I had the freedom to do what I liked. Be a good guy? No probs. be an evil barsteward, no worries. You could even blow up a whole town if you felt that way inclined! This one seems to have taken away that freedom. I felt shoehorned into making decisions towards the end, none of which actually made any significant difference to the world you are exploring. Plus, with the current technology and power we are currently enjoying, I expected a smarter game. I should not be able to take a companion from one faction into a rival faction's territory without any consequence, but I did. If I take a Brotherhood of Steel companion into the Railroad headquarters I expect him to react, I expect it to trigger repercussions, but no, there was nothing. It completely undermines the story, and with the current capabilities of this generation of consoles it's unacceptably lazy programming. In Fallout 3, you are presented with really serious decisions which will change some things forever, and I love that. Here, whatever you decide doesn't seem to make much difference, and when you finish the main story arc it all seems a bit pointless. The game becomes little more than a slightly deeper than average FPS, and not the adult RPG it should be. It's not all bad- I actually like the addition of settlement building and maintaining, and some of the characters are great. I don't think it deserves some of the low scores it has got on Metacritic. As a game in its own right it is great fun- I really enjoyed it. But once completed, I went back to playing Fallout 3 and promptly realised that it is not a patch on that.

Dragon Age: Origins is still one of my all time favourite games. A RPG for grown-ups. Adult themes, brilliant story, the best characters and voice acting ever and it packed an emotional punch. Dragon Age II however is a sad example of the current trend of dumbing down a genre which should never be dumbed down. I know developers want their games to appeal to as wide a range of gamer as possible to maximise sales, but if in doing so you alienate your origiinal fan base, then you are a capitalist ****. This game is a prime example. In it's own right it is still a good RPG, and one I still enjoyed playing (hence my score), but as a sequel to one of the greatest games of all time, it is a travesty. A decent RPG SHOULD be for a niche market- it's for gamers who want a whole lot more from a game than the simple sport of amassing huge numbers of headshots in every FPS ever released. The same thing happened with Mass Effect 3. Stop it already! I want depth and options, good story and characters in a RPG, and this provides none of that.

Dragon Age: Origins is still one of my all time favourite games. It had the best characters and voice acting of any game I had previously played, superb story and atmosphere and really packed an emotional punch at times. Dragon Age II was a shinier, dumbed down version. Admittedly a game I still enjoyed, but it was a shadow of it's former self. This one is a mixture of the two. Let's start with the good. It is HUGE. Far bigger than the previous games. Just the core game itself took me well over a 100 hours to complete, and the DLC will add many more. The characters are good, the crafting second to none. It looks beautiful: every time I play it, I forget how nice it looks. On to the not-so-good: it lacks the soul of the original. There is a moment when you move to a different area in the first quarter of the game, and that is beautifully done and packs a real emotional punch, but i never quite surpasses that. The graphics, whilst beautifully detailed are more like the shinier Dragon Age II, whereas I was very fond of the earthy watercolour palette of the original. Overall, this is a superb RPG, and whilst Witcher 3 has come along and crushed it, if you haven't played it there is much to enjoy here. Crafting is still the most detailed of any game out there, and the companions are superb- just sit back and listen to the banter between them!

The overall score this game gets here on Metacritic is an absolute travesty. Simply put, there are NO better games out there. Try it- I literally can't think of any game better. This is as close to a genuine masterpiece as a game could possibly get. The graphics, day/night/weather cycles are incredible, the atmosphere superb, and characters and story which put the mighty Dragon Age to shame. It does everything right. I really don't understand reviews which are anything less than 10/10. What the hell do these gamers want from a game? Ignore these trolls, and buy it already. CD project Red are the future of game developers. The level of attention, care and consideration gone into this package is awe-inspring. If I wasn't clear enough before: BEST. GAME.
