Honestly, I’d rather talk about what I liked, but the list of issues is just too long. I won't be lazy about it; I’ll break down exactly what annoyed me, from the most infuriating parts to the least, and if there's space left, I’ll mention what I actually enjoyed. Here we go Thinking this game is worth 400 BRL (or equivalent) is a bad joke. Especially when much bigger budget games—like Fable, which is a confirmed AAA title—are launching for much less. This absurd pricing just highlights the game's flaws even **** are NOT the protagonist: Exactly. You are, at best, a sidekick to Iori, and at times, it’s just absurd. The group discusses everything while the "protagonist" just stands there like a potato, looking clueless.Mute protagonist: This is directly tied to the second point. Since your character is the only one who doesn’t speak, everyone else feels infinitely more important. You’re just a door that carries the real protagonists from point A to point B. Get used to it.Limited exploration: For some reason, they thought it was a good idea to throw us into the same maps over and over for different missions, always limiting the path, forcing us back to where they want us, and killing any sense of freedom. If you entered the map for a mission, just do it. If you try to explore, the game will reload and bring you back.Lack of enemy variety: I tried to justify the repetition as part of the "MMO-style" lore, but when you're on a main mission and face the exact same boss you fought two missions ago, it’s just ridiculous. Repeating mobs is fine, repeating a main quest boss in a side quest is acceptable, but repeating a main boss in another main quest? That’s pure **** pause for cutscenes? Seriously, it wouldn't kill them.Equipment swapping: Why can we only change gear in town?Chest rewards: Chests are plentiful but limited resources on the map. It makes no sense to find a consumable in a chest that I can easily craft at any moment.Side quest rewards: The rewards are nonsensical. There aren’t many quests to begin with, and the rewards are wildly unbalanced. Why would I kill a mini-boss for a soldier to get 2,000 col, when I have 100,000 in my inventory by the end of the demo? What I actually liked It’s actually quite fun, and there’s a good amount of weapon variety, even with the absurd enemy repetition.Skill variety: The weapon proficiency system—nothing new to the series—is always welcome. The skills are useful, visually appealing, and add good variety to the combat.Setting/Atmosphere: The game looks beautiful, especially inside the cities and villages. I found myself admiring the view every time I left an inn.Crafting system: Simple and doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it’s functional and efficient. My only gripe is that it’s annoying to lose an upgraded weapon when you want to transfer its stats to another. It should at least serve as upgrade material along with the stat transfer.Final thoughts:If I had done things differently? First, price it correctly. That was the initial issue. Echoes of Aincrad is clearly a low-budget game and should be priced and judged accordingly. Second, voice the protagonist. The excuse that Asian developers use to keep silent protagonists is ridiculous and outdated. Look at Monster Hunter Stories 3, which dubbed its protagonist and delivered one of the best games of 2026. Third, if they wanted to keep a mute protagonist, they should have centralized the story around them, not Iori. Fourth, shrink the maps, or use them as a single point for all missions without locking us out. Fifth, cut down the number of chests and fix the rewards. There’s plenty more to say, but I'm out of words. Thanks for reading!
