My only 10/10 piece of media. This game fundamentally changed the way I view art. You will watch in awe as the entire universe, consciousness, what existence means and what it means to exist, are carefully deconstructed through the abstract lens of a mentally ill teenager. The writing is unreliable at times, there are 4th wall breaks and self aware characters that even call out your decisions made in completely separate save files, addressing them as alternate timelines entirely. The writing is profoundly beautiful yet hideously ugly. Impossibly complex yet so simple. So familiar yet so unknown. So human yet terrifyingly alien. Despite only being 15 hours long, Hello Charlotte offers the most ambitious and dense narrative I have ever read and the only one to perfectly capture the essence of what I believe art is.
