The Last of Us10
Jun 29, 2013
This is the best gaming experience of this generation. If you haven't played or beaten The Last of Us, what are you waiting for. I can't even say anything, it's just brilliant all over it.

Rayman Origins10
Aug 26, 2012
I'm going to be very straight-forward. My Game of the Year for 2011 was not Skyrim, neither Zelda, nor Uncharted. It was Rayman Origins. Rayman Origins is a masterpiece **** - it's graphics are beautiful, it's soundtrack is amazing, it's gameplay is breathtaking and it's impossible not to have fun with. While playing the 15-17 hour long story mode, you will find yourself laughing more often than you'd think. Playing this with friends is a total blast, and the game is fair, creative and free of glitches. It doesn't need any violence to be successful, and it can be very challenging towards the end and even more if you're looking for all of the achievements, speed trophies or medals. The only fault I see is not having online multiplayer. Rayman Origins is as good as Super Mario World or Sonic the Hedgehog 2 when it comes to a masterpiece platformer. Everyone, even if not a gamer, should give it a shot.

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing10
Aug 16, 2012
A legendary game. Everything in this game is perfect, story, graphics, and fun. I spend hours and hours in this game daily and it is so addictive it stops me from doing daily chores. After playing this game, you'll find that gaming does not resume to Half Life, Bioshock, or Uncharted. Gaming is all about Big Rigs and the impact it had in industry. A must buy.

Silent Hill: Homecoming8
Aug 14, 2012
A great game overall and very underrated. Gives you a great sense of horror, you feel alone and in danger. Combat is not so great, but after all, it was meant not to be as this is a survival horror. The game can be scary, but there are scarier ones out there. Graphics are good, but there are some glitches here and there. Soundtrack is amazing and sounds are great. Finally, the story is very good and disturbing. I've played this on normal and found the game to be a bit easy, though; I saved a LOT of ammo for the final boss and took him out in a minute. But this game is still worth picking up, with multiple endings to keep you coming back and a price tag that's very attractive in these days. If you like survival horror games, make sure to give this one a try.

Pocket Planes9
Aug 2, 2012
Pocket Planes is exactly what free-to-play games should be. There is of course the possibility of using real-life money to buy in-game currency, but this option is far from obligating players to pay. It matters much more on how you're building your airline than how many real life money you spend on the game; and creating your own airline is a lot of fun: you will have to think a lot on what kind of aircraft you have and where your airports are placed. Events are a brilliant idea of Nimblebit and a great way of earning bux and money without having to wait a lot or having to spend real money. I give this game a 9 only because I think it may be a bit boring to just wait for your flights to arrive and the leveling system may block you from growing faster due to its airport limitations per level, but as this game is free and a lot of fun, everyone with an iOS device should give it a try.

LIMBO10
Feb 24, 2012
Most of the critics for LIMBO come right to the point that it is short. Of course, compared with open-world games released everyday in which you can spend hundreds of hours in, LIMBO is short, it will take you 3-5 hours in the first time and 2 in further times. But, the hours you spend with LIMBO are fantastic. The game has one of the best art directions ever seen, with a innovative way of telling the story. The character doesn't speak one word, but you get attached to him in the first minutes. LIMBO's puzzles are incredibly clever, not very hard at most times, but after solving them you will probably be like "oooooh, I'm so stupid", because they are just simple and intelligent. So, altough LIMBO is short, it gets a 10, because it is innovative, beautiful, clever and overall one of the best experiences you can have.

Plants vs. Zombies10
Jan 30, 2012
Plants vs. Zombies is filled with fun all over it. There are tons of plants, different kinds of zombies, and 6 different scenes. Adventure mode will take about 6-7 hours to finish, and extremely fun letters for you from the zombies themselves. You can play it with a friend. There are mini games, survival mode, and even a garden which you can store virtual plants in, including a tree that will give you tips if you give it food (that you get with money earned in-game in the shop, made by Crazy Dave - a great, fun character - and has some other stuff too). Plants vs. Zombies is like a delicious chocolate cake topped with fun and filled with great content. The only fault that I see in this game is the absence of online multiplayer, but overall, it is amazing.

Darksiders10
Jan 28, 2012
Darksiders is great. There is kind of an open-world (pretty small compared to sandbox games, but big enough for this one) that you can explore while doing the main story, and as you proceed you will find collectibles that you will be able to get only when you unlock a special kind of gear. The collectibles you will have to get are very worthy, as they help increasing your maximum life, wrath (so you can use special abilities), pieces of Abyssal Armor (if you get all the pieces you will unlock the armor and you can import it for later playthroughs) and artifacts that you can switch for souls (which you also find in chests and killing enemies) and is the game's currency so you can buy upgrades and others with Vulgrim, a kind of demon (?) that is in most of the game's locations. Gears are awesome, there's from a crossblade which you can lock on to enemies to a kind of portal gun to solve puzzles, about 6 different gears. There are a primary weapon, the Chaoseater Blade, and two secondary, the Scythe and the Tremor Gauntlets, and plenty of combos for you to do with them (so the combat is not repetitive as many say), and more that you can buy with Vulgrim. Story is not perfect, but still great, and the main missions take you about 15 hours to do. Graphics are amazing, there is screen tearing but it doesn't bother you much, and the locals are just beautiful, from open places with waterfalls and grass to caves with big spiders. You will find a lot to unlock, the collectibles and some challenging achievements. This game is not perfect (as none is), and may borrow elements from other games, but is incredibly fun and you will find yourself coming back for more. An underrated title and a must buy for every hack and slash fan.

Mass Effect 29
Jan 27, 2012
Gameplay is maybe the worse aspect of Mass Effect 2, and sometimes it feels like a weird Gears of War, but this game goes deeper than most of games I've played. The RPG elements are simple and intelligent. Choices system is something different that you don't see in every game, but in Mass Effect 2 it is complex and amazing. Oh, the main missions last about 15 hours, but you won't want to do only them, because the secondary missions feel like primary ones, and how you get into them (by exploring planets in a weird eletronic galaxy map) is awesome. Mass Effect 2 is not perfect, but the way it is different from many games out there makes I recommend this to nearly everyone.

Dead Island6
Jan 27, 2012
When I first played Dead Island, I was amazed. The island looked beautiful, and killing zombies was as fun as it still is. But, as the story ran, I began to feel disappointed. Why? Because the whole game is that. The great island, with sewers, a city, and beaches, and the fun behind killing zombies. That's it. All of the 15 hours of gameplay are killing zombies, taking money and energy drinks, and then killing more zombies. I mean, that's cool, but what about the rest? Graphics are okay, but the game is glitched everywhere. The different types of zombies are creative, but is so annoying that a zombie can knock you down and you will take 5 seconds to get up without doing anything. Co-op is fun, but lagged. Everything in this game has a "but", and Dead Island gets a 6 because I found myself rushing to finish the story because I was getting sick of doing the same thing for 15 hours: killing zombies.

Sonic Generations7
Dec 12, 2011
It's much better than some other Sonic games, but still not that awesome. 2D Sonic is back, and it's amazing, but maybe SEGA thought Modern Sonic is better and focused the game on him. Only one boss fight is with Classic Sonic, and it has something Modern in it. Other bosses are with 3D Sonic and are really boring to pass. I have never seen a boss with a timer, and the final one in Sonic Generations has got it (for a cool reason, but it's got it). But the game is so gorgeous, and with amazing levels, that I can't give it less than 7. Though, if this game was only 2D Sonic, I would have gave it a 10.

Call of Duty: Black Ops8
Nov 30, 2011
Good game, not inovative at ALL, but still a good game. Nice story (only 5 hours, if you don't know it) and great multiplayer. Zombies mode is cool. But, you know, as I said, not inovative at all, same CoD stuff. But way better than MW3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 35
Nov 30, 2011
Well, well. This... ****. 4 hours of campaign, as usual. Multiplayer is awesome in other CoD's, but in this? Lag, grenadiers, lag, campers, lag, Type 95, lag, assassin.. have I told you about the lag? Type 95 ****. Hate that weapon, grenadiers and assassin, not even talking about. Now campers.. more buyers of MW3 = more kids playing, and more stupid campers waiting for you in a corner, getting 2/0 in every single game. But it's kind of fun to kill campers, and Spec Ops SAVED this game from misery, survival is awesome. Giving this game a 0 is ridiculous, but saying that it's all good is too. Now, let me get back in my helicopter in Battefield 3. Glad I bought it too.

BioShock10
Nov 30, 2011
Original and makes you think. Great art and graphics, great combat and great story. Makes the other FPS's be ashamed of theirselves. Only small bad thing is it's not that long, I beated it in 8 hours. But the rest - flawless. I love it. Altough I only played this, I'm gonna buy Bioshock 2 and Infinite is one of my most antecipated games for 2012. I would give this 9,5 but as Metacritic doesn't have 0,5 marks I'll give it a 10. Shame on you, CoD.

Batman: Arkham City9
Nov 11, 2011
Arkham City is big to explore, the side missions are awesome, main quests will take about 15 hours, and then there are Riddler Trophies, Challenge Maps and New Game+. The story is fantastic and surprising as it rolls, and many of Batman's comic books characters are at least mentioned. Graphics are good, not one of the bests around, but still stunning. Gameplay is not perfect, and you certainly will take time to know what you are supposed to do, but this is definetively a great game.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution10
Oct 28, 2011
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is not like other FPS's. You don't just blow s#it out, and kill people. You've got to be intelligent. Of course, you can just kill everything that move towards you. But the fun in this game, is to think, to make a fortress of boxes to hide, to find a vent and go through it, to hack, to hide bodies, and to think what's going to be your next augmentation. This game is not perfect (it's cutscenes are just awful, for example) but the way it plays, it's just incredible. It's a nice RPG and a nice shooter as well. For me, this is a candidate for GOTY.

Bully: Scholarship Edition7
Oct 28, 2011
Bully Scholarship Edition is a highs and lows game. It's fun, you have plenty to do, and time flies when you're playing it. But it has a lot of bugs, average graphics not much increased from PS2, repeated characters (I knocked you down before!) and mini games are annoying (especially Biology). Also, gameplay is not excellent and camera might "hide" behind walls. But this game is one of a kind, and you'll have fun with it.

Gears of War 310
Sep 26, 2011
Just finished it, it's awesome. The story is a book to read - what an end to the series. Beast mode is fun and cash and boss battles adds to Horde is great and improves it. Great matchmaking - so far I have not waited longer than two minutes to find a match, and it's rare to pass one minute. I haven't tried 4 player co-op on campaign, but it almost asks you to play with a friend or more - which is good. Altough if you haven't liked Gears 1 and 2 you won't like it, it's an AWESOME GAME. Didn't think twice to give it 10/10.

Gears of War 210
Sep 18, 2011
One of the best games of all time. Improves clearly in relation to Gears of War - chainsaw duels, refined multiplayer, meatshields. Multiplayer is awesome - Warzone, Execution, Annex, Guardian, Horde and the whole campaign (of about 10 hours) with a friend. It can't be compared to a book, but the history is well telled. Graphics are great - even more for a game of 2008. For me, Gears of War is as big as Halo. I don't know why there are negative reviews - probably from Sony fanboys, but if you own an Xbox, you MUST buy this game.

Mortal Kombat (2011)9
Sep 17, 2011
This game is awesome. There's plenty to do and the essence of MK series, with blood, savage violence and 2D gameplay is back. The AI is not that good, and X-Ray could take less damage and be harder to do, but Mortal Kombat 9 is fantastic and a must buy for every fighting games fan.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood8
Sep 17, 2011
The missions are almost the same: follow someone, kill guards, kill him without being recognized. This game is buggy too - I had to restart a memory because the guards ran out of the area that I could be. But it's a nice game, though: 12-15 hours of campaign, plenty to do on Rome, and an awesome multiplayer (I didn't think the matchmaking was that good, but it's for sure a great multiplayer). If you like open-world games, and a good story, you should buy this. If you won't be able to get Revelations, don't play Brotherhood - the final lets you wanting to know more.

Grand Theft Auto IV10
Sep 17, 2011
The best game that I've ever played. You won't spend less than 30 hours in the amazing campaign, and there's plenty to do in Liberty City and in the well-added multiplayer. Graphics are not Crysis, but are perfectly okay. Car driving is easy and awesome as in other GTA games. I have more pleasure to play this game than any other, and while I was playing this, time flew. MUST BUY.

Alan Wake9
Sep 17, 2011
What a great game. Excellent atmosphere, okay lenght (9 to 10 hours), and well-telled history. Batteries and ammo are not something that you can find anywhere and there are epic boss fights. You will want to come back because of the challenge of Insane difficulty, but not so more as the game is not that long. There are a few bugs, and the physic is not perfect, but there are a few games as unique as this one.
