I feel like this movie should have gotten more hate than it did which is why I even created this account to express my repulsion caused by it. The critics seemed to love it, which puts on display the partiality of the people that is behind the awards ceremonies and that deem themselves "critics". This movie is outright bad. As a spanish speaker, the script is terrible, and it is not a great representation of mexican or latin culture. The songs are pathetic and ridiculous. The only reason I give this a 1 is because of Zoe Saldanas performance. It was also unfathomable that the director of this movie is a french man that does not know a thing about Mexico and just decided to insert any sensationalist stereotypes that would get peoples attention. Terrible movie, do not watch it.

I disagree with the critics, seeing the trailer I could tell this wouldn’t be a horror movie but more like a campy action packed film, and it didn’t disappoint, it made me laugh with Megan’s sarcasm and sense of humor, but also I was on the edge of my seat with all the robot fights and action scenes. I would definitely recommend it, I think they took a risk with the switch up but it worked on their favor for sure!
