Fallout 3 is undoubtedly one of the best games of its generation, however, there are obvious problems in its conception. The transition from an isometric view to a first/third-person shooter was very well done, but the limitations of the Creation Engine are evident in many aspects of the game's gunplay, which is mediocre at best. Still, the game presents an impeccable setting, great characters, and an irreproachable soundtrack. The only real complaint is the game's narrative and its main mission, which is definitely very boring, totally linear with only one choice at the end—a choice that doesn't actually impact the gameplay at all. The game has a total of 5 story expansion DLCs, with Point Lookout and The Pit being highlights. Even so, DLCs like Mothership Zeta have a much inferior campaign compared to the others. Aside from that, this game is revolutionary and everyone should play it, even though Bethesda still doesn't know how to make a main mission as good as the one in Fallout: New Vegas.

The game is flawless from a narrative standpoint, however the obvious limitations of the Creation Engine (which was the same one used in its predecessor Fallout 3) are quite evident in the gameplay. Even so, for a secondary team with only 18 months of experience, what they accomplished is impressive, especially the impeccable work of John Gonzales, who made this game the narrative masterpiece of the series and, in turn, the best in the series. Definitely a remake in a more modern engine would make it a 10/10 game without a doubt. Still, the modding community on the internet is very active and very talented. Finally, I would also like to highlight the excellent work of Joshua Eric Sawyer, who directed this masterpiece; it is undoubtedly one of the best games ever made.
