If you are planning to buy this game in 2025 I strongly recommend getting the PC version. This PS4 version of the game seems to be simply a lazy port of the PS3 game. Playing on a PS5 this game suffers from poor optimization leading to really really bad performance. It honestl feels awful to play, resolution is less than 1080 and doesnt look crisp on a modern TV. Im sure this game is really good, since I bought it because of the way people talk really high about it. I just cant play a game with such low fps. And Im not even being a snob about it, frame rate drops to well below 30. Like blight town low.

Balance review This game is really good depending on what you are looking for in an adventure action RPG. Would write more if metacritic didnt mess up autocorrect after every other word. I have about 110h in this game and I still love to play it. Story is meh compared to other games but world exploration and combat is super good. If you want a well scripted adventure I wouldnt recommend this game, but if you are keen on making your own this game is golden. Honest score would be around 8.5-9/10

This is a balance review because lots of odd people think its fair to give a game 0 just because they dont like or or can vibe with it. Obviously this is a soulslike since it's the same developer as Nioh. I'd say its like Team Ninjas version of a Nioh open world game. The only reason people compare it to GoT is because it's not a dead world filled with only enemies. There are lots of npcs, an actual storylines and a mainquest. Even if there are difficulty settings in this game its worth to say that it's a game that focuses on GAMEPLAY. It doesnt matter if the side quest seem weak, it doesnt matter if the mainquest isnt up to par with story based games. The combat is phenomenal and satisfying and that what counts in these games. You can tell its a game by Team Ninja as much as you can tell that a game is by Fromsoftware. It boils down to breaking opponents Ki meter with parrys aka countersparks so you can then deliver a devestating blow. Lots of different weapon classes. Each weapon class can be equipped with 3 combat styles of which there are many to choose from. Each combat style have a set of 3 or 4 martial skills that are "special attacks" compared to standard Light and Charged attacks. Players can equip and swap between 2 primary weapon at any given time and 2 sub weapons (like bows, guns, smoke bombs and such). You play the game mostly solo. You explore the world alone and do quests alone, but you will unlock missions as you play the game and these are instances for you and npc companions, and can be played with other players. Its an interesting way to make multiplayer work and I personally like it very much. Character creator is really good in this one and allows you to create really cool characters. Theres also easy to share creations with others thanks to codes. Anyone complaining about graphics have tounderstand that the PS5 is neither a new console anymore or a powerhouse. It is what it is. its not ugly and it even do some things better than super pretty game. Like the water by the sea is really nice, its actually moves.
