Sep 29, 2025
Umamusume: Pretty Derby manages to be a non-predatory gacha game with its overwhelming amount of free currency, plus the hilarious stories for each unique character make this game infinitely replayable.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership7

A game oozing with charm that overstays its welcome several times. The overall theming is very nice, and the fun gameplay and lovely soundtrack help it out a little.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name8
Sep 29, 2025
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is one of SEGA's finest - a spy thriller crime drama with an absolute rollercoaster of a story. The combat can range from decent to genuinely awful, however.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds6
Sep 29, 2025
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a fine game with a lot of charm - but I simply don't feel like I played the game people were talking about. Aside from lackluster track layouts and a very mixed bag of a soundtrack, I was extremely disappointed to discover every character I had been excited to play as went completely silent - simply because SEGA was too cheap to pay their voice actors. For 20-30 dollars, this inexcusable.

Super Mario Party Jamboree: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV4

Though the new animations are charming and fun, there was absolutely no reason this should have cost full price.

Overwatch 21
Sep 29, 2025
Overwatch was one of my favorite games when it first released. When I tried to play Overwatch 2 after having taken a year-long break from Overwatch, I found that the game I loved was pretty much gone. Everything that made Overwatch charming was gone, with extremely predatory and inexcusable microtransactions plaguing the once free-to-earn unlockables. Not only that, each new character felt absolutely useless in furthering the lore, which was one of the reasons people liked Overwatch to begin with. Instead of focusing on the once-rich story, Overwatch 2 places all of its love towards poorly-written and unlikable characters, with every new cosmetic also going towards them as well. If that's not bad enough, the cancelled story mode was certainly even more salt in the wound. I cannot stress how much I hate what Overwatch has become.

Marvel Rivals satisfies the itch left behind by Overwatch's poor development cycle, while bringing to life the stories of beloved Marvel superheroes.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon9
Sep 29, 2025
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a perfect instance of "passing the torch" in that its new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, is perhaps one of the most lovable characters a Yakuza game has ever created.

Sonic Colors9
Sep 29, 2025
Sonic Colors is an all time classic, despite what some people may want you to believe these days it holds up as one of the best Sonic games of its time. It's often forgotten it released during a period of time where Sonic games were absolute laughingstocks - and STILL managed to be critically loved.

Super Mario Galaxy is perhaps one of the greatest and most innovative games of its time, and maybe even of all time, with its utterly gorgeous musical score and beautiful backdrops.

Mario Kart World8
Sep 29, 2025
Mario Kart World, in its current state, is comparable to Mario Kart 8's launch - somewhat lackluster in content, without any promise of any future support. That being said, the game possesses some of the most satisfying and skill-intensive movement in any racer, despite what some of the many, many false reviews may want you to believe. It's not perfect in the slightest, but I believe Mario Kart World will receive the same post-launch care other current racing games are receiving in due time.
