Destiny 2: Lightfall7

I doubt anyone will read this at this point, but this expansion was very much overhyped and then overhated. It's fine. The story is mediocre, but not terrible. The seasons (when they were happening ofc), seemed to hover around good and great. The weapons are decent. The subclass this expansion introduces, Strand, is quite fun. Get it on sale.

Far better than people have been saying. This is nowhere NEAR Curse of Osiris or even Shadowkeep in terms of lack of content/content reuse. There's a new destination, Kepler, that's fully fleshed out with a longer than normal main campaign, a grindable destination activity, and a bunch of side quests and secrets (admittedly these are mostly fetch quests, but there's some neat story stuff with every one so I'd say they're worth it). There are three new "destination abilities" that spice up the gameplay a bit, but don't expect any really crazy puzzles or combat changes from them. The story is good, especially for Destiny. It drags a bit in the middle and there are a handful of times where the clearly wrong line of dialogue plays, which can get a bit confusing, but it's still a compelling hook for the next saga overall. The weapons from Kepler are quite good and I've had a lot of fun playing with them/working them into builds. Given that this is only half of the year's paid content, and there are also four free updates, one of which has already come out, I'd say this is a great start to the Year of Prophecy and worth your time. There's a lot of hyperbolic negativity out there surrounding this expansion, and most of it only applies to hardcore fans who care about grinding. They have some fair points, but given that Bungie is already working on their feedback, that sort of stuff shouldn't be a deal-breaker for anyone imo. Thanks for reading!
