Existentialman

One sided to the point where you’re asking obvious questions the producers never bothered to ask. If you’re looking for clarity about the situation it’s not here.

I'm on the fence about the first episode of Season 3. Some scenes were great, others put me to sleep. It's definitely taken a dark turn, which I respect as a choice. My problem is with how we got here. The Synths really brought this on themselves by waking up all the synchs in order to save Mia's "life." It's hard for me to sympathize with our main characters at this point because they caused a worldwide catastrophe rather than lose one of their own. While I like the take on current events I have a hard time believing that all they synths wouldn't have been turned off at this point since they have been the cause of so many fatalities. This is different from say WestWorld or Jurassic Park, where the number of deaths is a lot smaller and for a time the repercussions can be put off by controlling the information. I'm willing to give it another episode, but I'm really concerned that the series has jumped the shark at this point.

I'm hooked after watching the first two episodes. This show has the potential to be the Game of Thrones. Like GOT is has a great mix of sexuality, violence and fantasy. This is an adult show and doesn't shy away from the sex scenes. I applaud them for that. Not every show has to be PG-13. If that discourages you from watching then this probably isn't the right show for you. American Gods could be the next Game of Thrones, or it could be the next Lost. That depends on where the story is headed and if all the weirdness has a genuine purpose. If there is no point to all strangeness then, like Lost, I'll end up being disappointed. If the quality continues then this could be the supernatural equivalent of 2001: A space odyssey, a poetic tale which that inspires discussion on all sorts of important topics.

I thought it was great! It has a Star Wars/Star Trek/Firefly vibe to it, with it's own unique identity and storyline. I watched it last night and thought it was great and it the morning I thought about it again and liked it even more. It's tough to judge based on just one episode, especially with so many mysteries introduced in the first episode, but I'll certainly tune in next week to see where it goes. I don't want to put in any spoilers, but if you like any of the shows or movies I mentioned above I would definitely check it out.

We trusted Damon Lindelof on Lost and we all know how well that turned out. When Lost ended I wanted my 121 hours back. I won't make the same mistake twice. Once again we're being teased that everything will eventually be explained in the end. You know what? I don't care. Hopefully the all people who disappeared went off to appear in better shows than this one.

The premiere episode of Orange is the New Black Season 2 is the best episode of entire series so far. It continues the suspense from the season 1 finale, but tells a completely new story as well. This episode tells a complete story. These days most television shows are so episodic that you only see a real conclusion at the end of a season. This is a perfect episode to show someone who's never seen Orange is the New Black because it shows in a single hour why this is such a great show. It even has a moral to it which is something you rarely see on any television program today. This show is so great it makes me miss Breaking Bad a little bit less. If you haven't watched this show before check it out. If you are watching it tell your friends about it. A show this good needs to be supported. I don't generally enjoy shows about prisoners because I have a hard time feeling sympathy for them. I feel incredible sympathy for the characters on Orange. It's a credit to the great writing and directing on this show. All the characters on this show are interesting. There are no extras or minor characters, just characters we see less of than others. This episode strongly demonstrates that as well. The guards on the plane, the new inmates in the yard; I'm pretty sure we'll never see any of them again, yet they're all clearly defined as characters. I can't wait to see what happens next. Fortunately, thanks to Netflix, I don't have to wait.
